Just had my first Watsu session with Judy Kegg - exquisite!…read more For anyone who's never heard of Watu, it's done in water, and is a blend of massage, shiatsu and really cool stretches that are only possible in water. I've been hunched over a computer lately and Judy really opened up my chest and shoulders. She also really helped me with an old injury - I unconsciously guard it by holding my core musculature in rigid way. It's subtle, but it makes me move like an older person. Judy gently pulled me through the water, stretching my entire core - but ever so gently, with only the water's resistance effecting the strech. It's the next day now, and I'm amazed at how aligned my core feels - I feel taller and longer and more in sync, everything is just working more in harmony. And it was both fun and deeply relaxing at the same time. Judy is pretty famous - she's the Watsu Lady here in Austin - and I could not be more impressed (and grateful!) - she's a master.
