I met Sara at her studio for a "quick" interview to go over all the questions I had and to see if she was the right fit for our wedding....2 hours later I left feeling soooo comfortable, as if I just met a friend for coffee. She answered all my questions, and we even talked shop for awhile. She flew out to our island destination wedding and covered our 3 day event. She and her husband (her assistant) quickly immersed themselves, and several people that she was my friend and invited to the wedding. Usually behind the camera, she made me feel very comfortable taking pictures. Needless to say, she took some stunning pictures and captured the moments every bride, groom and family would want. We find ourselves looking at the pictures all the time. We have sooo many amazing pictures, that I seriously don't know which ones to print. When I arrived at her studio, it was nestled among trees and open natural spaces. She greeted me warmly, and her make-up artist discussed with me what look I would like, rather than imposing her own concept. While my make-up was being done, I chatted with Ann. It was delightful and put me at ease. We laughed and compared stories. Her sense of humor was refreshing. By the time I was ready for her camera, I felt at home and Ann stepped into her role as photographer with ease, competence, and professionalism. She guided me and had an eagle eye for small changes such as a turn of the head, an expression, or use of objects that totally gave another facet to the resulting photographs. It was artistry in motion! And I never felt like I was posing! I never felt false or stiff or managed. The results were remarkable. She had captured the essence of me with such ease and lightness. Their photos are truly a work of art and will be in your family for generations. Wedding: What makes them special is that Ann has a true gift for portraiture and for taking photos that capture the essence of who that person is and their relationships. Kam has an incredible eye for architecture. His photos bring drama and he creates harmony between the people and spaces ( it's hard to describe so just look at their portfolio!) They are such a great team and put you at ease the entire day. This is SO important because you spend the most time with them out of any person your wedding day, after your spouse of course. We got a package that included the wedding album which beautiful and I can't wait to share with my kids one day. Portraiture: Ann has built an incredible studio space and is able to do natural lighting and more formal studio lighting. Some photographers specialize in a more formal look while other have a less posed look but Ann is actually able to do both. Its a matter of telling her what you are looking for and your outfits/look. A few weeks after the shoot she went over the photos with us to be printed. It felt very special because now a days people have thousands of photos on their phones that they rarely look at. This process forces you to select a few that you will cherish and love. Also, I really appreciated that the printing is included because it's just one less thing I have to do. I hope to go back in the next year and get professional headshots.

Ese was our photographer for our big day, and he was wonderful! He was very creative, and had…read morenumerous suggestions for where we could take beautiful outdoor shots (we chose the Japanese Gardens in Geneva, IL which were incredibly beautiful). He set up a beautiful and emotional first look for us there as well. I loved that he personalized my package for what I was looking for (I had a breakfast in the morning I was hoping he could photograph- and he said no problem), and that he got all of the big moments in our day- from getting ready until the very end- he literally traveled around with us all day. My favorite part was that we walked from the church to the reception hall and he had someone in my family move his car over so he could walk with us and photograph our private moments together. Ese is friendly and fun, and my bridal party enjoyed him throughout the entire day. He definitely shoots in the photo journalistic style, so there will not be a lot of time spent on "group shots" unless you specifically ask. Ese is a bit pricey, but his price included the day- I never felt like he was going to say, "your eight hours are up, I'm leaving even though there are still big things to happen" which is different than many photographers I've seen at events. Photographer is one of the most important wedding day decisions and I was so pleased with our choice. Definitely check out his site- you will not be disappointed.

First, the planning process with Anna was very easy; she offers a few packages to suit your budget, and she was willing to travel to Chicago to check out our unique first look location prior to the wedding. Upon meeting Anna in person, we knew we hired the right person: she is very warm, kind, and immediately understood what we wanted to capture on our wedding day. The day of the wedding, Anna and her husband Paul very efficiently (it was VERY HOT out) were able to take our first look, bridal party, and family photos. Upon going into the ceremony, both my husband and I completely forgot Anna and Paul were there... they were not in our face, and we got to enjoy our wedding night without feeling like we were always posing for photos. Okay, so here is the kicker... it's not the staged photos that blew our minds (they are perfect and lovely), but the spontaneous and natural photos.
