Quality of service was excellent. Very knowledgeable and helpful . The service we needed was for our whole house water treatment system.

I asked for an estimate, if it was free. I was TOLD "No we don't do free estimates. You pay a fee…read moreso we can put it towards the balance of OUR NEW machines." He LOST 3 customers INSTANTLY!!! I'm NOT responsible for HIS PURCHASES...NOR WILL I PAY them for him... DON'T EXPECT SATIFICATION!! They need YOUR MONEY...for THEIR choices!! Doesn't sound like a GOOD company...WHEN did they start bussiness?? Here are his EXACT words: No free esitmates. Huntingdon county.. the fee for the esitmate applies to the bal. Of the new equitment if purchased. I REPORTED HIM...BLOCKED HIM...BBB COMPLIANT!!!

They arrived as indicated and looked at the oil furnace and ended saying that I had a "blown" motor. They'd be back after getting one from Ace Hardware. Got everything working again, which was good. When I got the bill ($700), I was more than surprised at the expense. Later, I checked the Ace Hardware website (and at the store ) which said the motor (Beckett 21805) was listed at $124.99 (Home Depot has it for @$87). I was willing to pay more for the emergency call but to get almost a 300% markup on the motor ($125 marked up to $350) and an oil filter (marked up to $100) is GOUGING. Normal industry rate is 50% markup. So, the long and short of it is: BUYER BEWARE when it comes to M&T Mechanical. You will DEFINITELY pay more than fair market and more likely be scammed by a company that's more interested in a big payoff that will cost consumers. Again, BUYER BEWARE when it comes to M&T Mechanical--it will work but will leave a hole in your pocket and bad taste in your mouth. If desperate for service, call elsewhere.

I also have been struggling with the toilet tank "guts" thanks to Martinsburg's hard water. I'd bought a new faucet and parts for the toilet, but after watching YT and assessing my space and my own abilities...chose to hire someone. Mark of Mountain View Plumbing gave me a quote based on labor/time for each of these. He's the owner/operator...something I like to support when I can. We scheduled for 9am, he called as he was arriving EARLY! Two hours and both problems fixed with parts I had bought to do it myself. He even fixed my tub/shower diverter stem I was starting to have issues with. We discussed a few hacks to get some more life out of the toilet as hard water is doing what it does. I then asked about my kitchen sink/drain and he verified that I can get RO and a disposal into that space. Now I just need to budget! As for his hourly rate, it is totally fine for skilled and licensed labor. He didn't nickel and dime for the little things he used (tape, etc). I appreciate that. I also know as a former business owner, he's covering travel costs, insurances, taxes, etc. with that rate. I will be using him for more projects as my own budget permits.
