My mom is picky and I only buy her flowers once a year for Mother's Day. She doesn't like the simple bouquet of flowers but rather the large extravagant tropical type of flowers. I've been coming to Melody Florist for many years now and the owners, husband and wife, have always been nice and helpful to me. If they have a good selection in store, I'll pick something out myself but since my mom likes the not your average flowers, I put in a special order. The owner gives me a budget and I tell him what I desire and he does just that and delivers it to my mom's company. My budget ranges from $60-80 plus a $20 delivery fee (if I don't procrastinate, I could pick it up and deliver it myself to save $20). It's exciting to see what he comes up with and my mom and I both are always in awe with the results and she is extremely happy and satisfied with what she receives. read more

Totally lost in various of beautiful flowers the first time I visited the shop. There are not many places that make me feel like "I wish I could buy everything here" - this is one of those. Moreover, I don't usually meet people whose skills I can totally rely on, but this florist is one of the exceptions. Tina is so nice and helpful I didn't buy anything. I called on the phone asking about this Vietnamese flower that my grandmother likes and I had a bit difficulty finding the flower because my grandmother told me in viet and it's not a common flower. But Tina went out of her way to help me. She literally did the most to help she went on google to find it, gave me her number, and educated me on different flowers... Gentleman who approached us had a condescending undertone when we had questions about Hong Kong style flower arrangements. We were looking for a graduation bouquet, and had questions and photos of what we were looking for. He must've taken it as a judgement of his ability to deliver what his sample book displayed. We questioned whether he has a different colored tissue paper and he retorts, "Look at the book!" We said that we just want everything to be perfect, and he replies, "Nothing is ever perfect." He proceeded by closing the book before we were finished perusing. This establishment lacks professionalism. Even the previous customer was getting his snarky remarks and unprofessional tone of voice. We get it, you enjoy your flowers and your work. But, treat your customer with disrespect, and we'll be forced to go to Kim Chi Flowers instead. If it were possible for 0 stars, you sir, would get a big fat Zero. read more

I'm sitting in the car waiting for my two arrangements I just bought. What I should have done was walk out and gone to a different florist but since I'm already here and not a huge fan of driving around Westminster on a weekend during a holiday, I just went ahead and bought from them. I've been coming here for nearly 10 years! It used to be a pleasant enough experience with both the wife and the husband that owns this place. I've never left upset up until today. Completely different experience today. It's Mother's Day. It's busy and prices are super inflated I get it. So I walk in and there's a few other people in there looking around or waiting for someone to finish their purchase. The male owner asks 'does anyone need help or have a question'? Nobody but me responds. I get ignored instead. Instead, he proceeds to walk pass me to close the front door and move around pots. Um. Okay. I'm invisible or I'm mute. So I'm able to get his attention later and asked how much this one arrangement on display was. He flatly replies 'That one is really expensive'. Then goes quiet. He chooses not to elaborate further because it would be absurd that a peasant like myself could afford that. Guess he's right because, I chose not to pay $200 for a smallish arrangement that had primarily yellow roses, lilies, hydrangeas, accented w some other 'exotic' flower that drove the price up. (According to them). So I asked him to make an arrangement for me and proceeded to tell him the flowers to include in it based on what he had on hand in the cooler. I didn't get far before another customer came in and rudely interrupted because she had questions about a potential order she might place. She interrupted multiple times while i was trying to work with him. She even busted out her cell phone to show him pictures at one point. He gladly ignored me to answer all her questions while i'm just standing there waiting...and waiting to finish my order which was straightforward and would have been super fast and simple. Extremely rude girl ( maybe Vietnamese ppl new to the country think that's acceptable?) and bad manners and service from the owner. At this point my patience was wearing way thin. I even muttered 'Jesus'. Finally the girl left ( her boyfriend actually apologized for her. At least there's one person w manners) and the owner felt he would grant me his time. I'm so fortunate. I guess it took divine intervention to finally get the owner's attention to finish my order. Needless to say I will be going to a different florist from now. Note: Just walked back in to pick up the arrangements. The wife owner was so nice and friendly. Darn it. I'm going to miss her. read more

This is my first time at a privately owned florist. I usually get my flowers from grocery stores such as Von's and Trader Joe's but I decided to give this place a try today for my mom's birthday. It's in the same plaza as Stater Bros. and heck, if the flowers here were too over budget I could always go to Stater Bros instead. Melody Flowers have mostly orchids and limited array of flowers in the refrigerated display. Maybe there are more selection in the back of the shop, but from what I saw - all the popular flowers where there - carnations, roses, lilies, iris, daisies, etc. I got my mom a mix spring bouquet for $8 - carnations, daisies and fillers. I also bought a vase for $5 and the owner set up my bouquet in the vase for me. He added more fillers like fern to make the flower arrangement complete. He also gave me a big pink bow for free! Everything was better than all the flower arrangements I've gotten in the past. The flowers were fresh, bigger bouquet, nice vase complete with a bow - all for $14! An arrangement this size usually would cost me $30 anywhere else. It was truly fantastic and I'll come back here for my flower needs. read more

Saw this place last night on yelp so I decided to drop by here before work this morning. I know today is Valentines Day and it will be busy but I came early and customers were there. Usually someone working there would be like...Hey! Can I help you find something in particular? But nope, not this place. I was just standing there looking around, waiting to get some service but nope, Nope, NOPE! I even tried asking for help but it seemed like they ignored me. Just walked right by me. What pissed me off the most is that a customer came in after me and they helped him right away. They were all over him like a dog. I was like huh? I don't get it. I needed help. I tried to get help. I got no help. I just walked away and left. By the way I am not saying this because I had a bad experience here but when I looked around the roses looked like zombie roses. This florist is located in a strip mall and unpretentious. I'm picky about my flowers that I order for others only wanting "quality" flowers in my arrangements. I was helped by "Lim" who was very nice and patient. I ordered 3 sprays for a memorial service, each one different in color to be delivered to Newport Beach. The arrangements were absolutely beautiful!!! The flowers were fresh, opened up, nicely glittered ribbon work. I can't say enough how gorgeous the arrangements were. The flowers were delivered with a very reasonable fee and were on time. The prices were very reasonable in fact by looking at these arrangements, it appears they would cost way more than what I paid. Horrible customer service from one of the man that works there. I brought in a photo of a Hong Kong style bouquet to see if I can order from them. I showed the man the photo and asked if he can use white floral paper to wrap the rose and he rudely said, " Look at the photos in this book. You worry too much!" So I told him, "oh okay, I just wanted it to be perfect because it doesn't like you have that style here." He then responded with an "Okay" and slammed the photo album in front of me, grabbed it, and walked away from me. At this point I'm confused and shocked at what just happened. This is my go-to place to get flowers. The man that works here is soooo nice and he wraps the flowers so nicely. My friend and I were about to go to Costco to buy a dozen of roses for a bit cheaper and get it wrapped, but it closed so we decided to go here. This place closes at 7pm, but we came at 8:15pm and the man opened the door for us... So nice... He puts in a lot of effort in wrapping the flowers because my friend was just planning to buy two roses and give it to her friend like that. But he actually wrapped the two roses and it looked so cute. I love going here to get my stargazers and also add a few roses to make the bouquet look more extravagant. It's not expensive either. $4 for a stargazer, $3 for a rose. read more

I have tried other places but he is the best one I've been to. He wraps the bouquets very nicely. He also sells balloons. They have potted plants for sale as well.
