Melanie is a great instructor. This was a great CPR/first aid/AED class. It was informative and best of all the class was very interactive.

I took this class to start at BUMC. It was a 1 on 1 session, where I learned absolutely nothing…read more The guy was in a bigger hurry to get out of there than if it were on fire. He rushed through the information, seemed annoyed when I asked questions, and when it came time for the test, he just gave me all the answers. Considering I went to an ICU where I faced codes almost daily I felt extremely unprepared. Not only that, but my card was in my wallet when it stolen recently, so when I called the American Heart Association it turned out CPR education didn't even add me to the registry, its the company's choice to do so, or not, so when I reached out to CPR Education asking for my verification # they said they couldn't give it to me and wanted $20 to replace my card. They would not do anything to help me verify with my new job without a $20 payment. How shady is that? I sent a formal complaint to The AHA. The "certificate" they email you is worthless and holds no value with a company that requires you to have your BLS, there's no verifiable infp on it, so be warned. My suggestion, go somewhere else, all they care about is getting your $60 in their hand, and rushing you out the door.

I signed up and paid for a skills class, second part of CPR recertification with this company, CPR…read moreEducation. I chose the class location (1701 W. Northwest Hwy suite 100, Grapevine ,TX) and time because it was convenient (found on American Heart Association -AHA) website under "find a training center"). Payment was requested prior to attending the class ( red flag I missed). When I showed up for the class this morning, the address was that of a CPA firm and they knew nothing about the CPR classes. The receptionist was even kind enough to see if any classroom space in that office was rented out for that day, time, and by CPR education. No evidence of the class being held there. I got information from AHA customer service, received a training center phone number, called there, and the man I spoke with didn't know a Kimberly Higgs. He said the cost for their skills class was $30 cheaper than what was charged by this company. I called AHA and reported the problem because several classes from this instructor and this business are listed on the AHA website as resource for taking the required skills section of HCBLS recertification. I've tried to call the number for this business (682-302-1455) listed on AHA website and and also listed on my class reservation confirmation as that of the instructor Kimberly Higgs. So far I'm only getting a voicemail. I've sent an email to the website affiliated with this company and instructor Kimberly Higgs and have gotten no response. Either the class provided by this company is a sham or there are serious management problems in this business. Oh second red flag found on the CPR Education website "NO REFUNDS". In either case... Please DO NOT SIGN UP FOR ANY CPR CLASSES with this company and this instructor. Save your money and your time.

Ms. Torrez holds you to a standard and she is unwavering in that regard. At no point while I was in this course, did I feel like I couldn't call or text her if something came up. Admin was also available to answer questions if we had them. You also have to remember that these are REAL PEOPLE WITH REAL LIVES, and you need to be considerate and realistic about their response times. If you missed a class Ms. Torrez would let you come in and make it up. If you needed more practice with the skills you could also come in and get that extra practice in as well. If you think that she's just going to pass you, you are sadly mistaken. She's also not going to "hold your hand". If that's what you're looking for, you may wanna go somewhere else. You have to meet the standard not only in classwork but in your skills as well. The standard for her is 80% or better in all of your coursework, and successfully passing your skill assessment test. The course work and skills will definitely prepare you for the NREMT exam. I'm not gonna lie it was STRESSFUL AS HECK, but the feeling I have after completing this course is indescribable. I went to visit several other EMT schools before choosing this one and I was not impressed. 9 weeks goes by quickly so I would advise you to pay attention and ASK QUESTIONS AND PUT IN THE WORK! Ms. Torrez knows her stuff. Some of these reviews seem like they are from "Bitter Betty" kinda students. From DAY ONE I knew what was expected of me. I had the syllabus and she reinforced those expectations in each and every class. I have learned so much from this school! Again, everyone's experience is different but me and all of my classmates never felt like she didn't care about us. If you're looking for a school that will just let you "barely pass" then don't come here. If you're looking for an EMT program that will push you out of your comfort zone and challenge you, then this is it. The rewarding feeling after completing this course is spectacular!

Ambiguous requirements, poor administration, confusion, and frustration prevail at Elite EMT…read moreAcademy. My overall experience suggests that the unsatisfactory reviews that you will see on this and other websites are well founded. As mentioned in other reviews, I have to agree that management shows little interest in students after the enrollment fees are collected. In the hybrid program, expect to figure it out on your own with minimal guidance. Expect weeks or even months of silence and discontinuity between the academic and clinical portions of training due to poor management. There are better training options out there.
