The only thing keeping this store from a perfect rating is the customer service. I walked in well over an hour before closing and was not acknowledged except for the 6 separate "reminders" that they are closing soon. I ended up walking out without really browsing properly or trying anything on;from what I saw, everything was pretty neat and organized! I actually found some nice things I wanted too. Unfortunate. Thank you Robert for reaching out. No, it wasn't Friday, it was yesterday, Sunday the 19th. I feel like reading some of the other negative reviews, I'm definitely seeing a pattern here. I hope to visit after the issues are properly addressed and corrected. Assisting customers might help them make decisions faster, having warm and welcoming staff who offer suggestions also might help. that's not what happened. I was simply "reminded" that they would be closing "soon" which is ridiculous to do since closing time was over an hour away. Seeing as this doesn't seem to be taken seriously I will update my review to account for how my issue was acknowledged. read more

As it's name implies, Melrose Vintage is a vintage clothing shop. It's located right in the heart of uptown Whittier so it's very easy to get to and there's tons of parking around this business, so that should never be a problem. What this store offers is a collection of vintage clothing. They have men's, women's, kids, pretty much everything you would expect. Overall, they have good quality clothing and a lot of ever-changing very unique pieces. Just a note: you are going to pay a little bit more here for your vintage clothing then say you would at a thrift store. This is not unexpected because what they have done is to go through and offer only the best of the best. Overall, this is a good shop to go to when you're looking for a new piece of unique clothing or perhaps an interesting gift. read more

They have a lot of clothes but need to do better on the pricing. A Levi's jeans with a bunch of stains going for the same price as Levi's without stains and in good condition? Come on. This belongs in the $1 bin or something. The new store is beautiful but they're super limited on what they have. The old store had a lot more clothes and new one has maybe half of what the other one had. New store also has clothes folded instead of hanging which is hard to see. The folded clothes could've been the ones that fit me but it was such a hassle to go through the stacks, just hang your clothes please. Also can't reach a lot of the clothes hanging high. read more

Firstly.... there are so many upcycle or thrift places that are just so stuck up and rude, not the folks at Melrose! This is a family run business and you can feel it! Everyone is welcoming and kind and helpful! They select their clothes carefully and everything is so organized and easy to find! I LOVE shopping at Melrose! I have a lot of great items that I get compliments on all the time from Melrose! Stop in! Say hi! And buy something amazing! read more

I like it here! They have some nice finds here. I found a pair of Levi's shorts that fit me well. I have been here before a few times and tried on over 6 items before and felt comfortable trying on as much as I liked, even if none of it ended up working out. I also love the tote bags here, they are huge and great quality. Would recommend. read more

Some Good items but prices are way too high. You can definitely find some items like this at your local goodwill store nearby or even what not. Definitely, customer service needs a major improvement just because you're related to the owner as the niece doesn't mean you have to be self absorbed and high and mighty. This is for the tall skinny emo chic. But, that just represents herself how she feels inside. Which definitely doesn't make me want to go again. It's nice just to walk and see the they have or if your thinking of becoming a reseller. But in my opinion I think you'd be Gucci going to your local goodwill store nearby by in Whittier to find for more affordable prices. read more

Welcome back to the 80's, complete with the almost 80's prices. I honestly don't get the whole wear old clothes thing but hey my daughters love it so it must be the in style thing. I can honestly say they do a great job of bringing back the past with the vintage apparel. The atmosphere inside the store takes you back or sends you to the past. I'm not really a thrifter, but my friend is. Great selections and good music! It didn't smell like how it usually does (to me). I did like the sunglass section! You can check in to get a free 7.99 sunglasses and they're trendy. There was a lot of y2k ones that were under the glass counter, I can't rock it myself but it's definitely a vibe. The ladies are super nice and will help you right away if you wanted to try something on a mannequin or higher than reach. read more

The selection!!! Great finds I used to shop to at the typical thrift stores for years and then I kind of stopped because the hunt got exhausting and I always feel like I have to go shower when I leave. Not here! It's so well organized and I found some one of kind pieces that are to die for! I am in love with this place! It's thrifting but I feel like I'm shopping in a new item store. Love the incense smell when you walk in! It was my first time in the store today. A nice hidden gem in Uptown. Decent selection of vintage for guys and girls. Staff measures out the pant and short sizes for your convenience which I like. Staff was extremely pleasant and friendly. Attentive and welcoming too. I've grown up going to every location Melrose has moved to and this new store is my favorite one ever! The set up and the selection are incredible. As always, the prices are 100% fair and unbeatable. Also, everyone who works here is always so sweet and ready to help if you need it. There is a big selection for everyone. I've been shopping here since I was seven years old. I still remember I bought a brown cardigan that was oversized at the time, and I still wear it to this day (16 years later). Their clothing lasts a lifetime, because it's made from vintage material that sadly isn't commercially made anymore. I love this shop so much. It's by far the best vintage shop in the greater Los Angeles area, and it feels like I've shopped and thrifted everywhere around here. Every item seems individually selected, like the places you would find on Melrose Ave in Fairfax, but with better clothing and prices. Staff is so sweet, super friendly, and very helpful. 10/10 would recommend! read more

I get it, it's a vintage store. However, I wish there was more quality control. The items they have on the rack that are incredibly faded and thin, yellow pit stains, stains, and holes with a high tag prices. At a thrift, it would be on a the $0.50 cent rack. And what's with all the cropping? And why are the shirts cropped so short? This place also isn't very size inclusive. It's like they just grab any old thing from the rag house, crop it, and slap a $35 price tag on it without actually inspecting the garment. A majority of the stuff in there shouldn't be priced more than five dollars. read more

Everything is overpriced and the place smells like an old mans restroom. They crop almost everything (ruining the value of pieces). To top it off the short employee is rude and the whole staff gives off an arrogant vibe. The entire time I was in the store I felt as if I was being judged. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. You're better off going to goodwill. read more

I absolutely adore this place and the staff!! Jenny is the sweetest person I've met! She was extremely helpful and very attentive, honestly all of them were! I couldn't help but laugh at the bad reviews, wish their experience was like mine every time I go. I like to think their prices are pretty reasonable if I'm being honest. These people go digging for these nice pieces, so their prices are not a problem, for me at least. Great workers, great music and environment. I've been shopping here since high school (from time to time when I'm in Whittier), always been a good time. read more

First time being there I love there Instagram page I was hoping It could be that one place I can buy vintage clothes for plus size but sadly I was wrong they hardly had anything plus size everything didnt fit me I was a bit sad but hey its vintage it hard to find vintage clothing in plus size.. Melrose Vintage has always been a treasured store for me, going on more than 20 years. They always have an amazing assortment of second hand and dead stock clothes and accessories, no matter what your style, and will sometimes go out of their way to find something for you that they may not have on had at the time. The ownership/management has been a staple in Whittier as long as I can remember, they are an example of what the heart and soul of Uptown really is. read more

Employee questioned me of stealing as I was checking out and purchasing an item since there was a hanger in the dressing room, even though all items were left in dressing room and that could've been checked. I have bought clothes here before and was buying something at the time she accused me and it was just a rude/ awkward/ embarrassing experience. Sadly everytime I come the employees seem unwelcoming and judgy. I felt like I shouldn't have bought an item there after and I have seen other similar reviews here read more

Established in 1979.

Started as a one man laundry shop that washed and pressed old military uniforms, repaired and sold at the local flea markets and we grew into denim dealers in the late 80s and opened the first store in 1991 in Uptown Whittier .... we haven’t left the district since although many manifestations have transpired since we are committed to good value for the product we offer.

I came by on a Sunday afternoon, it was a little busy but not overly crowded. Each booth is rented by a antique dealer to showcase furniture, jewelry, clocks, clothing, dishes, dolls, art, memorabilia, and framed posters, etc. The main floor has a service counter if you need assistance or have questions. Each section was very organized, you can easily browse at your own pace. The building was built more than 100 years ago and is the largest antique center in California. I guess that's what I get for using that app. She said the sash was free. Said she would text me a photo on Thursday. None of that happened. Nothing got done. Matter of fact it was much smaller than what was offered on the funeral site at the mortuary and cost even more. Disappointed to say the least. I wouldn't recommend this place again. I just don't think it was worth the value as what the actual Florist on site could do.

I was…read morewarmly greeted by what I'm assuming is the shop owner, as soon as I entered the store she politely asked me if it was my first time here and after I said no, she gave me a tour of the entire store and let me know of any sales they had. She, and what I'm assuming was her mother, run the store and they were both so kind and gracious to me. I'm very new to this area and I've had many negative experiences with businesses and different people lately which has kind of damped my mood and brought down my spirits.
