If you are someone who is tired of donating to bigger stores and want your donations to go to a great cause then shelter's right hand is the place for you. They are 100% volunteer supported, which helps to keep the price point affordable. Each volunteer is sweet and helpful. I recently went to browse through the store to see what I could find. I found a cupcake decorating book for 50 cents! Lots of good finds if you have the time to browse. Definitely check out upstairs as there is some home decor, more clothing, special occasion dresses, and shoes as well. While browsing, I took notice of what they could use and made a mental note so I know what to donate. There is a 2 bag limit since it is a small thrift shop. Highly recommend supporting this organization in whatever capacity you can. Whether through volunteering or donations, they really are a great organization. read more

Wonderful little thrift store in Whittier that supports a worthy cause. You have to do a little bit of hunting around as things are a bit crowded inside. But if you do find something, chances are that the price will be cheap. The volunteers are kind, helpful,, and there are many of them. The store is in need of donations of men's clothing and shoes, so if you have some laying around the house, drop it off between 10-12noon. There's plenty of free parking in the front. I enjoy coming here to donate our clothes. However, I recommend calling ahead because, even though they accept donations from 10 AM to 12 PM, they can sometimes be overfull. This small step ensures your trip isn't wasted and helps them manage the donations better. read more

I've donated to this place for years and always happy to do so until... Those who are dropping off donations do so by going through the alley behind the store. There was a sporty little silver Lexus parked back there and as I'm unloading my boxes a woman comes out through the back door (the manager, a volunteer?) with several items that looked like crystal figurines in her hands and puts them in her car, the Lexus. Locks it up and goes back into the shop via the same back door. Did she buy them or simply took because she called first dibs on them? The whole scene took the magic out of donating. read more

This is a great little treasure! My mom introduced me to this place and I have been thrifting here for years. It's a small but quaint little shop where the sweet old ladies who run it are always glad to see you. They house clothing, housewear, baby clothes, toys and games, books, craft items, shoes and hanbags and jewlery. Items are individually priced except shoes and purses. It's $3.00 for shoes and $2.00 for purses. The GREAT unknown secrect of this place is that it's 1/2 price on all women's items! So women's shoes are actually 1.50 and purses 1.00. i have found some GREAT vintage items here for next to nothing. Caftans, leather jackets, groovy dresses, tunic blouses, leather boots and purses. I usually walk out of there spending less than 10.00 and with a bag full of gems. They have a 1/2 price sale on ALL items once a month and it usually runs for a week. They also have this chest of drawers that holds all kinds of vintage fabric and trimming and if your anything like me.... you go nutso for this!! They have a little boutiqe located up a flight of stairs (inside the store) called A STEP UP. Items here are vintage and little more than what you will find downstairs but it's worth a browse. I have found a gold 1960's Ice Bucket ( for 5.00) and a vintage Christmas table cloth and napkin set ( 5.00) for my holiday party I had last year. I always find something there and its usually just what I'm looking for. The shop is located in an outdoor strip mall type of place and there is plenty of parking. They are closed on Sunday and are a cash only operation. They do have a dressing room :) read more

This thrift store is 100% non-profit, run by wholesome volunteers and supports women & children's shelters. Upon entering, I was greeted by SUE. She welcomed me and introduced the organization as I was looking thru the sales racks outside. It felt really good knowing you're shopping for a good cause, to support and give back. I was in the store for about an hour and overheard so many nice conversations from regular shoppers, interactions from grateful families that have been helped by them and even gentlemen inquiring about large donations. The store is SUPER CLEAN, spacious, organized and looks likes it's dusted and vacuumed everyday. A great day to shop- 50cent sales racks and $1 pants & jeans. All, and I mean ALL of their donations and clothing have been sorted thru, inspected and cleaned. Nothing I picked up had a stain, hole or tear. There was also another nice lady outside greeting incoming customers, offering them hand sanitizer and keeping crowd control as they limit the number of customers inside per COVID regulations. 9 pairs of jeans, 7 women's shirts, 6 vhs' tapes and 2 books all for $26. Basically a little over $1 an item once it's broken down. What a wonderful shopping trip and experience here. Thank you for doing generous work and donating your time ladies! Quite a find! I'm a thrift junkie from Long Beach, where thrift stores are born, so moving to Whittier has left me searching for good ones. This is! The ladies who work here are pretty nice. The place is clean and pretty well organized. I found nice shirts for my boyfriend and a hat and a couple of cute vintage finds that I thought were a steal. I think things downstairs could be labeled a little bit more clearly; the rack outside, what is it for? Is it sale? How much do those things cost? So confusing. Also there were definitely some things that were trash, either stained or suuuuper worn out or torn, and shouldn't have been sold. But generally, nice enough things for reasonable prices, and occasional treasures. read more

I was out in the Whittier area today and had some extra time, so I decided to go thrifting. I'm so glad I found this little gem of a place. The ladies working there were so nice to my daughter and I. The place was neat and organized and the prices were good. Even better was that everything was 50% off. We totally scored! If you go, don't forget to go upstairs to the boutique area. They don't let kids up there because that's where the really nice stuff is. Overall, this is one of the better thrift stores I've been to. read more

The negative reviews I've read are way off base. I stopped by to donate and found the staff friendly and helpful. The cashier directed me to the drop off location in the back. I pulled right up to the door and two workers came out immediately and unloaded my car for me. I will be donating to this shop from now on. Please remember that staff at any store are allowed to buy their own merchandise and just because you didn't personally see them pay for it doesn't mean you should assume they are stealing.. so wrong to do that! read more

I truly believe the store 'calls' to me. I found the perfect blouse to match an outfit, and a few pairs of jeans, and a necklace or two. I take a stroll through 'Sacks' every time I donate, and almost always come home with something for me, a friend or the grandkids :) read more

Ive loved donating to this place untill one day i saw an voulenter get stuff from the back and taking them stright to there car and leaving with out paying for them. Then a few weeks later saw a Lady donate a blanket and the second the lady gave them the blanket they threw it away in a big cage full if clothing. The volunter where super rude and every time i went they made faces and inored me. moultipol times there were outside smoking and not even doing work .one time i went into the store and there was a Lady charging me and told me that she couldnt sell shoes to me because she said there were to good to sell to me and saved it for herself . I had several problems with this individual and one time she got in my face telling me that why do i all ways find the good things .and she refused to sell them to me and was being a total bich about it to me. i then didint go back into the store and continued to donate untill i saw that they were stelling and were arguing that whos going to take a full bag of brand clothes and did not even payed attention to me when i donated. I DONT RECOMMEND !!!! read more
