The items they had on display outdoors were not the best items to be on display. Once inside the store is small and the items seem to be on top of one another. I was able to find 3 or 4 pieces of glass that I could use for my flowers but there wasn't much more inside for a reasonable price. My children are a little older and so much harder to help with gifts this time of year. A lot of people are unwilling to help children that are 11,13,17. I was so worried about giving my children some sort of Christmas. They stepped up big time. They did not blink an eye or hesitate They do make a difference. This is a non-profit organization that helps people/organizations in the Matthews area thru…read moredonations, fundraising, and volunteer activies. It is made-up of 80+ woman volunteers and donates about $10,000 a year thru their annual holiday tea. The annual holiday tea is held at the historic Reid house on John St in December. Each room is beautifully decorated and the tea/desserts are excellent. You feel like you have stepped back in time to a more genteel era and everything is served by gracious, smiling club members. Great place to take out-of-towners for that old southern town flavor. The tickets go on sale in November and go very fast! I actually have tried and missed getting tickets the last two years. (I'll get them this year if I have to camp-out overnite!!)
