We were moving and needed to declutter the home to help sell. Now that we are living over 2 hours away we were waiting for checks to be mailed for items sold. after two months of "the check is in the mail" the last story about six weeks ago was that the Indian Trail Post Office is stealing her checks out of the mail... We were then told that she would mail a check in a plain envelope with her home address so the mail people would not know it was a check. The prices are pretty good…read moregenerally but some of the items are a little bit overpriced (for example a simple small glass bowl was $3 but a cute little metal with decorations was also $3) I always visit the shop whenever I'm in town because it's just so conveniently close and they usually have one or two things that I like whether it be small knickknacks or useful household items. Today I picked up a brand new dish drying rack for only three dollars! They also give away the occasional bakery item, which I find really nice. Most of them are just past their best by date, but are still good to eat. The young lady at the counter is always very cheerful and nice to talk to. She's been there the last two times I have been and has always been very nice and helpful. Greeting us as soon as we come in. Will be back!

I…read morestopped in this Goodwill one day when I had dinner plans across the way at Lam's (delicious!). I arrived early and had time to kill so checking out Goodwill was a huge unexpected bonus! This Goodwill was like most, plenty parking, signage and goods! I lucked up on some super cute dresses and tops and only spent about $30 total. They had plenty of inventory to peruse and that I did. From furniture to clothes, to home decor, they definitely had just about everything. I'll most likely stop in here each time I visit Lam's just to make it a thing. Lil shopping, lil dinner, lots of happiness.

For the last many years, I have been a very regular and loyal patron of this Weddington Store. I am…read morethere almost daily and have spent thousands and thousands of dollars in this one store. I know lots of employees there and have befriended many of the other loyal patrons. Shopping at Goodwill has been one of my retirement hobbies and I have had hours of fun there. I even started a Facebook group entitled, "Goodwill Fun Finds", that has 9,000 members and is growing rapidly. Something happened to me today in the Weddington Store that needs to be exposed. As I often do, I brought my new 3 month old seven pound puppy with me. He was in my arms the entire time I was in the store and was asleep. He has never made one whimper and is loved by store employees and customers. He is well mannered and never meets a stranger. Unfortunately, there is another customer who frequents the store who brings his unruly and misbehaved dog. When his dog sees other dogs, he barks and becomes very disruptive. The previous store manager there, he would politely ask this customer to leave the store, which was entirely appropriate. Customers do not like to be surrounded by barking or upset dogs when they are shopping. Today, when that unruly dog saw my dog, he became unruly as usual. The assistant manager, Carol, approached the man with the misbehaved dog and told him that he needed to leave the store immediately. I was in another part of the store, minding my own business with my sleeping puppy in my arms. Carol came after me with a forked tongue and told me that I also needed to get out of the store. She told me that when one dog barks, all the dogs have to leave. I told her that she sees me every day and knows that my dog never makes a sound. I asked her if it was fair to throw the whole bunch of apples away if there is only one rotten one. She told me that if I didn't leave immediately, she would call the police. I told her that it wasn't my intention to leave and if she made me, she would never see me again in this store. She abruptly rushed to her office to call the police. Her tone, attitude and manner of talking with me was entirely inappropriate and unprofessional and I am quite certain, it is not the what GW would want to represent them in any of their stores. She approached me like I was a piece of trash. This entire conversation was witnessed by an employee, Lisa, who has also known me for years. It was also witnessed by several customers, all of whom were in disbelief that I had been treated in this manner. So, because I didn't want a confrontation by police, I left the store after I told a few of my favorite employees there what had happened and why they would never see me again in this store. I am in my sixties and have never been talked to as I was addressed today. I have seen Carol speak inappropriately to customers for years. She has never been welcoming to me and has never been kind. She is brash, loud, unprofessional, and radiates negative energy. I have heard many customers complain about her. When I posted a google review for this store today, I noticed there were multiple complaints about her. Why do they allow this to continue? I had a very successful high level management career for over thirty years. I have had a lot of experience and professional training in managing people and have a good sense of what is effective and appropriate and what is not. What is going on in that GW Weddington store is far from acceptable. The Ballantyne East Store is cleaner, more organized, and has friendlier and happier employees. The store manager is consistently kind, as is the assistant manager and the team leads. I would recommend this store over the Weddington store for many reasons. As long as Carol works at Weddington, I will never return. They do not deserve my business, or yours.

They're only open 3 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) and only accept donations on Saturdays until 3pm. I went 6/3 and found some good finds. I saw a lot of name brand clothing in the women's and children's section with some items as low as $1. My personal finds were a new with tags pair of white shorts from Marshall's for $4 and a pair of Columbia brand pants for $4 as well. I also got a few books for $1.25 each and a shot glass set priced at $3 for 5 glasses. They do offer colored tag specials like 50% blue or 75% off pink so check out the signage when you come in.

For…read moremembers (those who contribute to the store's charities), they have a separate room where the members get first dibs on all the new stuff that comes in. For non-members (like us), the merchandise that remains (and there is a lot of it) is then arranged in a different room for the greater public. Even though there is a hierarchy to the visitors, the merch was still in abundance ... they have nice standards of what the take in and sell. We think they are only open two or three days per week, but if your looking to do a little thrift shopping, this is a nice one.

There is lots to look through and they have a bit of everything. Found a beautiful crystal cake holder that I feel in love with. It was square shaped and heavy. Did the crystal test and it sang like crystal, lol. Purchased a small ornate gold frame with a cute picture. The lady who was working there was so sweet and gave me a really good deal on it. I could see myself purchasing many items here, but, how to get them back home in one piece is the question.
