    Conversation with a provider

After going back and forth couple of messages they just decide to stop to reply back. We had scheduled an appointment and the my told me they can't have access to the unit without someone being present which is understandable. I went ahead and I found a person who was going to be there to let them in and from there I never heard back from them. I tried to reach out to them multiple times without any response. This is very unprofessional.

Mike with Melton Electric did an excellent job of upgrading my electrical panel box and installing my EV home charger.

I recently built a house that uses Vastola Heating & Cooling as one of the subcontractors. I'm…read moreborderline impressed with the work that they did. I'll explain... The duct work is pretty clean looking and streamlined. With my house being a new build, I suppose you'd expect that the temperature would be comfortable with little wasted energy, but in many respects this is a testament to the quality furnace and duct work Vastola did install. Moreover, the humidifier does a bang up job as well. I'm was a little disappointed about a service call I had to make after we moved in. Our dryer is vented from the laundry room on the second floor to the side of the house, not the roof. Therefore, Vastola ran the vent across the joists of the attic floor. When I finally had a chance to get into the attic to store some things, I noticed the overwhelming smell of dryer exhaust. I checked out the vent and noticed it had come unattached from the outside wall. We called Vastola about the issue, and they came out to fix it, however, they were really defensive when they did so, almost as if they were accusing us of deliberately sabotaging our own dryer vent, which of course is ridiculous. I love dryer vents and would never do anything to harm one of them.

I normally don't leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience so others can…read moremake an informed decision. My wife and I hired Vastola Heating & Cooling to install a new furnace and air conditioning system after being quoted approximately $11,800. During the sales presentation, we were told we had been approved for a loan at 9.99% interest. The salesperson explained that our payment would be approximately $178 per month, or about $205 per month if we added the annual maintenance program. At no point did we believe we were signing a lease agreement. We were never told that the payments would increase over time or that we would have to pay thousands of dollars to purchase the equipment at the end of the agreement. It wasn't until I contacted the leasing company myself that I learned the buyout amount would be approximately $11,800. We've had the agreement for 2 1/2 years and have already paid $6,000, so it was shocking to find out we still owe the same amount as when we started. I questioned whether I had misunderstood something, so I sought independent opinions from two HVAC companies--one in Hamburg and one in Lockport. I showed them both the lease agreement. Based on their review, both told me that the agreement appeared to have been presented as a loan rather than a lease and that, in their opinion, the situation should be corrected. One also told me that in 20 years of business, he had never heard of an HVAC company leasing a furnace and air conditioner to a customer, and that it seemed very shady. Since discovering these issues, I have made every effort to resolve the matter directly with Vastola Heating & Cooling. I left a voicemail for management, sent a detailed letter outlining my concerns, and requested a response. I did hear back from the owner, Dan, who seems like a nice guy. However, he explained that his salesperson, CJ, should have explained the ins and outs of the lease, including that I would have to buy out my air conditioner and furnace at the end of 10 years, that my payment would increase every two years, and that if I did not want to buy it out, I would have to return the equipment. That sounds crazy when you pay almost $30,000 by the end of the program they signed me up for. I asked Dan if there was any possibility that his salesperson had not explained this to me, because that is truly what happened, but he said that was impossible, that they are trained very well, and that he does not believe that happened. I understand sticking up for your employees, but in the end we agreed on a price, and now my family is going to have to pay double that. I'm sharing my experience because I believe consumers should carefully review every financing document and ask very specific questions about whether they are signing a loan or a lease. Based on my experience, I felt that the financing arrangement was not presented to us in a clear and transparent manner, and I remain disappointed that my attempts to resolve the issue directly have gone nowhere. I sincerely hope Vastola Heating & Cooling chooses to address this matter fairly, but until then, I cannot recommend them based on my experience.

I built a house 4 years ago. Greg Schall did my heating and cooling. Greg was a great guy - professional, clean, organized. When my central air was not working all of a sudden, I gave him a call. He told me he retired a couple years ago and sold his company to a wonderful guy named William Young. Greg gave me his number to contact him. Upon contacting him, I got a call back from Bill (I believe) saying he'd get a service guy on it to call me and come out the next day. I got a call that evening from a Lenny or Larry saying he'd try to come out that evening but likely the following day. The following day I got a call from a different service rep Tyler. Tyler said he'd come by between 2-4. Tyler arrived that afternoon and proceeded to look at my thermostat. At first he thought I might need a new one. Then he proceeded to the furnace. He opened up the panel and looked around. He then proceeded outside to the 2 air conditioning units (I have one for my unit and one for my tenants). Long story short, he looked at both and said they were rusted and both needed needed new capacitors, new connectors and contactors. I was asking a lot of questions along the way and of course asked him about warranty and why after only a few years there is a problem with these. He asked if I covered them, I told him no. He said that's good because sometimes covering them can trap moisture. Then he asked if I was using chemicals near them, I said no. Basically he then concluded it was bad luck. I let him be to look at he furnace again and he called me when he was done. Said he was going to check with his boss about my warranty info and he was going to give me a discount of 20% off for today. I told him that although that's appreciated, NOT ONE OF THE 3 men I spoke with mentioned anything about a fee to provide an estimate. He said it was a diagnosis fee. I told him he'd have to invoice me because I was not prepared to pay him at that time. His boss proceeded to call me shortly after. Tyler told him I was upset and I told him I can't fathom why none of them mentioned their fee. He said it's COD and it's $80 per half hour. I said, "Isn't that something you inform your customers about prior to coming out?" He did not respond to that. He told me he'd look into any warranty and call me back. He never did. I know this is long but it gets better. I had someone else from another company come out to look at it same day. He was appalled at what he saw. Tyler put the disconnecter (on/off key on side of house) in for one of the units (mine) upside down. He also left the panel off the furnace (mine) which acts like a key to turn it on. He also left a wire/connector detached from one of the units (my tenants). By him doing all these things, neither unit would have ever even kicked on. I felt taken advantage of as a woman that doesn't know much of anything about air conditioners/central air units. He did not leave MY PROPERTY the way he found it. With all of these errors, I STRONGLY BELIEVE he did this on purpose so I'd have to ensure they come back to fix things. When the other guy finished up, all he had to do was replace 2 metal pieces (I think those are the contactors) on the ends of 2 wires and replace 1 wire. This company is completely unprofessional in inappropriate on how they handle customers. Not to mention they were basically given customers simply by the sale of the other company. I would not recommend.
