Let me tell you a story about Melvin's Tire and Auto, 10 School Street, Seekonk MA 02771. Let me start off by saying I've been a customer of theirs for over 20 years. About four months ago I was shopping for a set of new tires. I was informed the tires I wanted; Good Year Eagle Sport was discontinued. So, I settled for set of Continental Cross Contact LX Sport. I freaking hate these tires, and I gave them a bad review, but that's another story. Two days ago, I had a tire blowout. So, bright and early the next morning, I went to Melvin's Tire and told them my story of about my tires, including how much I hate the tires they sold me. They told me that the Good Year Eagle Sport were still available. So this means I was lied to and I settled for a set of Continentals, so be it! The bottom line here is that I needed a new tire in a hurry. Simple right? I use my car for work. I was told by the person who calls himself a manager, that the tire is under the manufacturer's warranty, but that there was a process and the process would take about three hours. I drove off on my space saver spare and waited for a call I never got. After 6 hours, I returned to learn what was being done. As it turns out, more information was needed, so he went outside, measured the tread depth of my remaining three tires, then he recorded my milage. Fine. I needed to leave to go to an appointment. I informed him I'd come back after my appointment. When I returned, . . I learned that the manufacturer would give me a 50% discount on a new tire, fine, but then I learn they didn't bother to order my tire because they needed a $25 deposit! WTF! Now I'm pissed. I need a F'n tire, I'm losing $200 per day at my job because I am not driving. He told me he'd call me when the tire comes in. So, the next morning, I waited until 11:30, still no call, another day of lose income. To make matters worse, my invoice showed the remaining balance was $259.21. This is not a 50% discount! I paid $220 full price just four months ago. What the hell kind of operation are you running? I believe they raised the price per tire and the gave me a 50% discount, effectively erasing the discount. Melvin's Tire and Auto is a shady scam operation. After 20 years of saying good things about them, Melvin's Tire and Auto in Seekonk MA lost me as a customer forever. First, they told me me the tires I wanted were discontinued, while they were not! Now I'm was delayed from getting back on the road because these people can't seem to get out of their own way. This should have been an easy problem to solve; I should have been back on the road the following day. I will take my business elsewhere, forever! read more

Easily the worst customer service experience I have ever had, and it is still unresolved two months later. Local manager claims he doesn't have the power to help me, no response from website nor calls to the regional manager. They refuse to even honor the tire company's warranty. Brought my car in for new tires, and they could never get it to drive right afterwards. Eventually, after many return visits, I had to go someplace else to have it fixed, where they found the problem was the tires themselves. Melvin's won't refund me for the defective tires or even recognize Hankook's warranty. Now my options are to go straight to Hankook or my credit card company. - While I was at the store for the many visits and many hours in the waiting room, I heard other customers having very bad experiences as well. A young lady was crying because each time she brought her car there, she left with more issues than she had before. A man was being denied the price-matching tire deal that was advertised. Another man was having trouble returning defective tires. - They told me that they test drove my car and that it was fine, but it wasn't fine and my dashcam showed that the tech just drove it literally next door to get coffee and then returned, never getting over 20 miles per hour. - I dropped my car off one day and they promised the work would be done, but when I picked it up nothing had been done because "multiple techs walked off the job". Yikes. This place used to be great, and I had recommended it to others, including my father, who became a customer. Since Mavis bought them a few years ago, it has done a 180. If you value your car, your time, or your money, don't go here. read more

I have a mixed feelings about this place. Although the job they perform is competent and complete, the prices of the services have gone up significantly since the takeover by a private equity firm. Just like hospitals being taken over by greedy private equity, mom and pop and regional auto service centers are taken over by private equity to squeeze unsuspecting consumers. There are a few things that consumers can do to combat this trend. Go to other provides who are still has ties to local community and do not take the profits off to somewhere else. I will limit my use of this place, as much I like the people there, to just the essentials that other area providers cannot perform easily. read more

Do not go here. I have been a loyal customer of this garage for years, but under the new ownership, things have drastically changed for the worse. What was once a trustworthy and reliable service is now completely unprofessional and deceptive. I called on a Thursday to have my driver window checked because it wouldn't roll up. They asked me to bring it in the next day (Friday) and leave it with them. Despite this, they failed to keep me informed about the status of my car. By late Saturday, after no communication from them, I called for an update. I was told they hadn't even looked at my car yet but would do so and call me back. At the end of the day, they informed me that both the relay and the window motor needed replacement, estimating the repair at $500. I knew this diagnosis was off, but needing the repair done before a work trip, I reluctantly agreed. Monday and Tuesday passed with no updates. By Wednesday noon, I had to call them again, only to find out they still hadn't touched my car. I was left without my vehicle for almost a week without any communication or progress. Fed up, I went to retrieve my car and discovered they hadn't even taken the door panel off. They had diagnosed a non-existent problem. This was a complete scam. I took the car home, removed the panel myself, and found the motor was working fine. Do not go to this garage. They have lost all credibility, and I will be warning everyone I know about their dishonest practices. read more

I had 1,200 dollars tires put on 3,000 dollars rims for my Mercedes. They scratched the rims badly and the I paid 400 dollars for wheel sensors. When I picked the car up the tire light was on they told it would go off after 50/100 miles. It did not so they had to reprogram them, guess what they were not even for my car. They were supposed to order the right ones never did, never repaired the scratches on all of my brand new rims. Eventually they stopped even answering my calls. So overpriced service, caused damage to my rims, put the wrong sensors on my wheels and eventually just ignored me. read more

Got the dreaded "low tire pressure" warning on my Ford Maverick. Stopped by Melvin's in Seekonk, MA, spoke with Hayley who took me right in. Had a screw in the left rear; fixed and on my way in under 30 minutes...and all for only $24.99. Stopped by for a quick tire rotation 9/18/23 which comes "free" with new set of tires purchased. They found that my rear brakes needed work--which is always suspicious?! To the tune of $450.. I'll have another garage check out. I have lost some faith in this shop, unfortunately. I don't mind that they always have Fox News on the TV but, I do mind that the Service Writers engage with Customers in the waiting area and inject their own personal politics! I don't think national politics should get involved with the Melvin's/Mavis business model. It just is not appropriate. I will think twice before returning as a customer. read more

Made an appointment to have four new tires installed and get an oil change prior to having my vehicle inspected. Service was excellent and everything was done a little over an hour after I brought my car. I asked them to make sure my lights and brake system was in good order and this was also done within the appointment. They did not perform the car inspection but they did refer me to a local garage where I had the inspection done and the car passed with flying colors! I believe their prices were reasonable and I will return there for future maintenance work. read more

I be been coming here for a few years now for all my car issues. It is close to my work so it is convenient as well. The manager Gary has been what you hope most auto shop managers should be. He gladly will explain any and everything to you and even take you out to your car and show you. I've never had any issues with any recommendations ( I have even went as far as to get a second opinion and they said the same thing) not have I had any issues with the time things would take and the quality of work. ( On a sidenote there's a little Coffee and bagel Shoppe directly behind tire pros if you have to wait a little while also highly recommended) read more

Had an appointment on Nov,1 at 2 pm to install 4 new tires and alignment, asked how long would it take, the customer service rep said it will be ready at 3:30, and asked if I was waiting. I said no, and would be back and asked him to call me. at 4PM I called to check since they didn't call, was told was going in for alignment, ok, 45 minutes later went to store to find out technician was just getting into car for the alignment. so I told him to forget it.i know every body has a busy life, but because I didn't sit my ass down in there waiting room I was bumped for walk in ones. just because didn't wait there with my 85 year old mother doesn't mean I didn't need car when it was promised. read more

I didn't worry much about where I got my old car's maintenance (and it showed - I found the drain pan threads stripped). But when I got my new car, I was kind of nervous about having shoddy work done on it. I asked my parents, and they recommended Melvin's Tire Pros. So I tried them out, and so far so good. They were professional, fast, and with reasonable prices. And no drops of oil on the cement - which is a good sign. I called ahead for two tires and was told to bring my car in for 2 pm. I ended up having them replace the two worst tires, rotate the best of what was left and align all 4. My car was ready by 4:30 and it's driving a lot better than it had!! I don't know much about tires but I got a fair price and it was an easy process. Thanks guys! read more

This place is great. Got tires here twice so far. First time I got them online from tire rack and they installed them for me (which town fair tire refused to do) and was pleased. Second time I called them and it turned out they had the same tires as tirerack for the same price but without the shipping costs. So I learned that online is not always cheaper. And they even put up with my misguided crankiness. One of the tires started leaking immediately after I got it. I of course assumed they did something wrong when they put it on and called them up and was a bit cranky about it. But they got me right in to look at it, and of course I was an idiot and there was a nail in it which they fixed for free. These guys are great. I purchased all new tires over two years ago (they price match anything online). The other day, I have a huge screw/bolt sticking out of my back tire and, luckily, I was nearby. I drove right in with the noisy, punctured tire and, half an hour later, I was driving away with it patched and ready to go! I found Tire Pros in a frantic mess - my tire had a slow leak and I didn't get off work until 4:30 and they're technicians are only there until 5. I called that morning to see if they could squeeze me in and they were SUPER friendly on the phone and told me to just come as soon as I could after work. Due to an accident I didn't get there until about 4:50 and I came rushing in. Steve was fantastic! He was who I had talked to on the phone and told me it wasn't a problem that they would take a look at the tire. He entered me into the system and took my keys and asked me to sit down in their nice waiting area (comfy chairs and a tv). This was all before Steve saw my California license plates and realized he'd be dealing with someone who is looking for a new tire place. About ten minutes later I was out the door with my patched tire. Tire Pros has definitely earned my business and I will be back! read more

These guys are great. I've purchased tires many times over the years from them. Always competitively priced and quick. I recently brought my truck in because it was making an awful noise and the airbag light was on. They rotated the tires, tightened up the belts, filled power steering fluid, and could not find anything wrong with my truck. Noise went away and wait for it......NO CHARGE! They lied to me telling me made me wait 3 hours to plug a tire they drilled the hole to big to plug it , its a 15 min job then told me the rest of tires were bald w 30k on new tires not even close to the tread warning , i been a customer for 15 years at this place , theyve changed from honest to leisure suite larry at the front desk you better reconsider this place i know im not going back !
