I can not believe how horrible member solutions has been. For starters, the gym I used was kid of a joke. I only attended for about two weeks before I wished to cancel my contract. I lost over $1000 by not going to the gym. After all of that, they told me they had to automatically renew my contract and the only way I could cancel it was if I showed proof that I moved away. I was charged a late payment fee; however, I had reached out and mentioned that my card was stolen and the account couldn't be updated until I received a new card. Although I know I wouldn't be able to receive a refund, I would have liked for it to be credited on the next payment. I have been paying without an issue for years and find it hard to swallow that they couldn't do anything about a fee that was accrued due to a situation out of my control. I will avoid this company in the future if at all possible. Of course, like many other useless contracting businesses who only care about money, they did not notify me at all when my contract was about to expire. Instead, I was forced to honor an "open automatic renewal" contract even without any automatic renewal option ever being checked off on the contract. The company would NOT allow me to cancel over the phone, despite requiring me to provide them with all of my contact information and account number. They informed me that they require 30-days written notice (via fax or e-mail) for cancellation, with no exceptions, which is simply a way to rook people into paying them for an additional month prior to the cancellation going through. And on top of that, you will receive an automated e-mail in response from them notifying you that it will take them an ADDITIONAL FIVE BUSINESS DAYS to process your cancellation request, even if you just spoke to them over the phone. When in reality, this could have all been solved in seconds with the click of a button by the person on the other end of the line. I have no idea why they have a customer service number, because they do NOT provide customer service in any way, shape, or form. The employees on the other end of the line have one concern, and that is serving the company itself, not serving the company's customers. If the gym you are interested in wants you to sign up with Member Solutions, find a new gym. That is how awful this company is. read more

They are late on their correspondence and then demand that you pay the late fee when it is their fault. I already wrote a review of this company but apparently it was deleted. If you are planning on joining any gym or organization that uses this company for billing DON'T JOIN!!! I was training at a Martial Arts School when I injured my shoulder. I was out for a month and then the doctor told me I needed surgery and could not train any longer. Per the instructions of my gym I brought them a note on the NYU Langone letterhead. I submitted the letter and told them to cancel my membership on at the beginning of September. Member Solutions sent me an additional form to complete asking for the exact same information that was provided in the letter. I forwarded the form to my doctor and he sent it to member solutions. The paperwork process ended up taking 3 months and Member Solutions continued to bill me for every month, even though the instructors at the gym knew I had been injured, knew that I had surgery and both they and Member solutions had a copy of my doctors letter. In the end Member Solutions billed me for $600 before they canceled my account. I called to complain because I had complied with all their requests and yet the continued to bill me. The manager at the call center just kept repeating that he was very sorry but it was "their policy" that they continue to bill you until they have processed your paperwork, which took them 3 months. What a slimy company and chicken way to make a living. To date they have still refused to refund my $600 even though I had submitted the doctors note, completed their additional form, and had not even been to the gym since I am physically unable to train. read more

Worst company I had to ever deal with for my 8 year old to do karate. I canceled the class after 6 months in writing with the karate office. The office never sent my paperwork up and so I got billed another month. I called and told them I am not paying an extra month that was son was not in class. My 4 year old was being harassed by another child (7year old) at his karate practices. I spoke to the owner who showed his true self, was disrespectful and didn't help with any solutions. I then asked to cancel my contract and was told he doesn't have the ability to do so and to contact MS, I called MS and was told sorry can't cancel due to it being "he said she said". I am shocked that company's have MS to protect them in doing or saying whatever they want especially with young kids involved because they will still get their money. I was injured and was advised by my physical therapist and chiropractor and orthosurgeon to not continue the practices/training of the MMA capacity. I was injured during the contract and got the disability form signed by all, and they say I'm still obligated. Why did they ask me to get the signatures in the first place? Even worse they won't speak with you about why a disability request was denied. My contract is up in a few months thanks goodness. I'm sure they will find a way to continue to charge me though. I am a disabled veteran, my daughter is also disabled and I placed her in an activity program to help her. When her condition worsened i had to cancel, the place told me to contact this billing agency to discontinue payment. I contacted them and placed the request for cancelation on the website (which is the only way to cancel, no calling). A month later I received a call from billing saying I was past due, when I called them they told me that I would have to pay an additional $250, just to cancel, I was on a month to month with the studio for my child, made no sense and was not an original agreement of signing. This is the problem with third party billing, no one has to be responsible for contractual information. I will be going to the Department of Veterans of Foreign Wars to place a stop shop on this activity as soon as I can and also make sure that no state employees fall into this trap, as I work for the state as law enforcement. The Rep said that they would close the account once they receive his orders, and that it would be retroactive back to his ship date. The did cancel it, but they refused to reimburse the payment that was taken after his ship date stating that the rep gave me wrong information. If that isn't bad enough, apparently because my son isn't a minor, it was a breach of privacy for them to discuss his account information with me at all. And they even ASKED if he was a minor and I said no, and then ASSUMED that I had a POA. So if you care about your money and your privacy, Run far away. read more

Member Solutions is a dishonest company that just wants money. i will never work with this company or any company that uses Member Solutions every again. I moved from Texas to North Carolina, September 1st and needed to cancel my contact with Member Solutions for the gym that I was attending in Austin. Member Solution's cancellation process is horrible and inconsiderate of their members. I was moving September 1st in which I contacted Member Solutions at the end of July regarding my cancellation because my payment comes out September 1st. After my first communication was done via phone, I decided that the rest needed to be done via email because I wanted all communication in writing. They told me they needed the cancelation form and one form of documentation (which keep in mind the paper says two forms, which means the paperwork was not correct) before they could do anything regarding cancelling. I informed them I was not moving until September 1st, meaning the paperwork they needed (lease, new driver licenses ect) I would not be able to get until after I arrived in North Carolina. After I went back in forth via email asking, how is someone suppose to get this paper work to you prior to moving since the paperwork they are wanting can not be contained until I actually move to the new state. There was no comment from Member Solutions when I informed them this is a hardship and unable to be done before September 1st. After several emails in which a different person responded each time, I finally got them to freeze my account for September. Then, when I was finally able to send the paperwork in (September 5th) they then sent me an email saying I still owe my full payment before they would cancel my account. I WAS SHOCKED! During no conversations I had with this company from July to September did they tell me I was still going to have to pay for an account that I can not use the services because I have to be in active account status. Then I was told via phone when I called asking about having to pay, they said you would have had to give us 30 day notice to cancel your account with having to be charged for the month. WHAT? When I express my concerns and frustration with this process each representative on the phone had the response, "well you signed a contract and in which you would be billed until your paper was received and processed." When I expressed concern regarding the fact that no one told me I was still going to be charged, I got oh well sorry for the confusion. I then told them that as a client I feel that Member Solutions just wants their clients' money and are not considerate or understanding of how their policies or "contract" are not made aware with the clients. No response from the company. Then when I asked for a copy of the contract, they informed me it might take up to 30 days to get it. That does not make sense to me, if you are quoting your policy from my contract, why can't you send me a copy? Also, I asked for a confirmation email sent me to saying that my account is cancelled and will not be charged from here on out, they can't send me an email with this information. UNPROFESSIONAL I will never use any company that uses Member Solutions again. This company is horrible. read more

Member solutions Inc has given me quite a bit of grief. Member Solutions Inc double-billed me for a month because the gym I worked with screwed up the paperwork, and didn't submit it on time. To make up for this double-bill, my gym informed me that I would be 'comped' two months to get the payments back on schedule. This seemed reasonable. So far, so good. When my contract was to be terminated (it was supposed to be January 2016 to December 2016), it turns out instead of 'comping' me those two months, they simply delayed my contract going into effect without my knowledge or consent, making the contract March 2016-February 2017. Seeing as I quit going to this gym in August 2016, but was willing to honor the January-December terms of the original agreement anyway, having to pay 200 dollars because someone screwed up seemed unreasonable. So, I called the gym, then called Member Solutions. MSI refused to end my contract, but did turn off the auto-renewal. I told them quite simply that if they refused to honor my wishes, I would cancel the credit-card they billed from, and they could send it to collections if they want. They held their line, I held mine. The line of credit they used to bill me is now terminated. Moral of the story is: If you are having to sign up for a gym or martial arts school, and that place uses MSI, run for the hills. No respectable establishment uses 12 month locked terms. read more

Guys SERIOUSLY listen to these other reviews. Member solutions will screw you and lie to you. I used them for 2 1/2 years. 1. They lied to me about canceling memberships and charged me to do so. 2. I've tried to close my business account and they gave me the biggest run around about canceling. ...and they wouldn't do it! 3. Annette yelled at me with disgust and treated my like an asshole all because I want to discontinue my business with them. I spent an almost an hour on the phone with her. The customer service lady who spoke with me was like a robot was just talking no stop basically saying that once you sigh the contract with then you would have to pay , if you try to cancel you only will be canceling the renew of your contract the balance of 3 , 6 or even a year you still need to pay.... The customer service reps are completely incompetent. I called them trying to cancel my gym membership due to relocation. Their list of accepted documents did not apply to my situation. I asked the customer service representative if she could help me find a solution that fits my unique situation, but she was unwilling to help. Basically, the only documents I am able to provide to them at this time are a cable bill with my name on it and a utility bill that does not have my name on it, though I am listed on the utility account. When I asked if they could just call the utility company to confirm, she said no - my name has to be on the paper bill (the utility bill has my parents name on it). I then pointed out that their method is flawed because anybody could falsify a utility bill - I want them to actually call my utility company. She then put an arbitrary flag on my account (she could not adequately define the flagging process) making it virtually impossible for me to cancel my membership. I'm now stuck with about an $800 bill for a service I can't use. For the first time in my life, I cursed at a customer service representative. That is how frustrating this experience was. Their policy is to make it as difficult as possible to cancel a membership, and they require a ridiculous amount of paperwork to get it done. Similar to a previous post, I was billed for services not rendered by a local provider. While I should have caught it earlier, I do expect that when working with an establishment and notifying them that I will no longer be using their services, that they will inform me of the steps to officially take care of that. Continuing to bill your customers for services when they've told you the no longer want them is at worst unethical. I did seek to work with them by contacting them. I spoke with a Jessica Chiefton who when asked if they get other customers who have similar experiences responded "It happens all of the time". Pretty telling, and unfortunate. I've had an abysmal experience with Member Solutions. In trying to cancel a contract, I have had to provide countless proofs of relocation. Yet Member Solutions will not cancel the contract. I understand the benefits of using Member Solutions for small businesses. Holding customers to their contracts is important. Yet small businesses interested in these types of services should reconsider using Member Solutions. They will drive your customers crazy. Here are some reasons why: 1. They are inconsistent: Member Solutions said, a month ago, that 1 form of proof I submitted for relocation was sufficient, then, this month, said it was insufficient. In other words, they changed their policy on the fly and provided no justification for doing so. This drives people crazy. Instead of solving your membership issues, this inconsistency will cause your customers to come back to you angry about their membership issues. 2. They are ineffectual: The customer service representatives at Member Solutions use phrases like "I understand your frustration," and, "I can see how that would be tough," but do not actually help. In a recent conversation, a representative told me that, while he "understands my frustration," he cannot make a decision regarding my case. The power to make this decision lies with someone else. "Can I talk to the people with the power to make decisions?" I asked. "No, they do not accept calls" he said. So, in dealing with the customer service representatives, nothing actually gets done except clumsy therapy. This drives people crazy. Your customers will come back to you to get something done. Thus, defeating the purpose of employing Member Solutions. 3. They are anonymous and negative: People like small businesses because they get to see people face to face, and get to use first names. People like gyms because they are positive environments that make them feel better. By outsourcing your membership issues to Member Solutions, what you had going for you, as a small business and a gym, quickly disintegrates. Member Solutions is anonymous. The representatives are reluctant to tell you who they are and who is in charge. They build zero trust. As well, dealing with Member Solutions is negative. They make honest and paying customers, like me, feel like irresponsible and helpless idiots for signing a contract. By being treated like an anonymous "anybody," and by being made to feel like an irresponsible and helpless idiot for signing a contract, Member Solutions will cause your customers to grow resentful of your small business and gym. What you'll gain in short term convenience, you'll lose in long term trust. I realize the pressures on small businesses. If there were a membership service that was consistent, effectual, transparent, and positive--I would have no problems with it. Indeed, if a membership service was doing a good job, they probably wouldn't call much attention to themselves. As you can see by the very fact that I, a customer, am wasting my weekend to write about this company, you should be suspicious of their services. They call attention to themselves. And, because their procedures are inconsistent (etc.), I perceive the small businesses they represent in a similar light. I really enjoyed my experiences at the gym using Member Solutions, but, because of my experience with Member Solutions, I will not go back to the gym, ever, or advise others to go back there. It's that bad. In sum, I have had a horrible experience with this company, and plan to let others know about my experiences (far and wide). For the good of your small business, I would recommend shopping around for another membership service--or---perhaps--dealing with these inevitable (frustrating, but trust-building) issues on your own. read more

I will not be using that service again, yet they continue to charge me regardless timely notification to discontinue. As the customer on the recieving end of a gym that contracts them, I would suggest you avoid any gym that uses them. The owner of Evolution Martial Arts in Miami, Fl mislead me about my contract either intentionally or out of ignorance, anyway I cancelled on time with the gym although it seems not to make a difference. Member solutions basically said you're out of luck because I didn't send it to them in writing in time. Just kept referring to 14 days on the contract (I sent my email 13 days ahead of time). You don't have a contract with your gym, you have a contract with them. Very impersonal way of doing business and when one person tells you one thing and the company another, at the end no one takes responsibility. Also, you need to call them as they don't respond to your emails in 3-5 business days as stated. They didn't reapond to my email until 2 weeks later, the day before my scheduled payment. They ignored everything I wrote in the email and just told me my next billing date. read more
