The 2nd one had more flavors but it looked less fresh. They do not allow dogs or skateboards in this area. They have live music and vendors that include baked goods, honey, local produce/vegetables/fruits, house decor, spicy jams, jams, cookies, cupcakes, food trucks, thinly sliced potato on a stick, and much more. It was a crowded event with lots of families/children. The sidewalk is narrow so people end up walking alongside the grass area. I like that this market is different than most farmer's market because of the craft element. I saw yarn animals, handcrafted wood furniture, and some other really neat craft projects.

The fields are well-kept, the staff are extremely friendly and I just generally enjoy being out at the farm to pick my own strawberries to turn into lovely homemade jam. They don't just have strawberries though; they've grown over the past few years and offer raspberry picking, peas, beans, pumpkins and apples, seasonally. The other thing worth mentioning is that they do a fantastic job of managing farm updates on Facebook and their website (www.fruition.ca). With wacky weather and the finicky nature of any harvest, things change pretty quickly. But, their timely updates will let you plan a great visit to the farm for whatever is in season.

All season long they have things going on, berry picking, corn maze, pumpkin picking, and lots of other great food. The price is perfect $5.25 for a small basket or $10 for a large one. Wendy's Country Market is the retail store version of Wendy's mobile market, which links up piles of local food producers (from Buffalo meat to baby lettuce heads) to individual customers, wholesalers and restaurants. Needless to say, come Spring and through Fall Wendy and Rick are busy people. Good thing they have an adorably floppy Basset Hound riding shotgun on deliveries. Anyway, the store is out in the boonies. But if you're around the area/looking for a country drive it's a great place to stop in. Wendy and whatever relative/friend is working can give you a rundown on pretty much every product in there. Plus it's in an old school house with lots of the original interior. Neato.

Kingston, Ontario is a great town with one drawback: A lot of the stores and restaurants are closed…read moreon Sundays. Fortunately, there's plenty to see, do, eat... and shop for. The shopping gem I happened upon was the Kingston Sunday Antique Market, found at the on King St, between Market & Brock Street ... or, as the way I stumbled upon it, by following the cocophony of sound from behind the town's grandiose City Hall. Considering the sturdy rain earlier in the day, it's existence (which IS weather permitting) was a pleasant surprise. Vendors whipped off their rain-beaded tarps and the market was in full force after the sun came out. It isn't some half-a**ed glorified garage sale. You'll find vintage furniture (especially chairs, bookshelves, and dressers), product signs, jewelry, toy cars, books, sports cards, trunks, art work, books, old political ephemera, plenty of tempting NHL stuff, pottery, records (and even a few 8-tracks!), retro kitchen stuff, old intricate teapots ... I could go on forever. You'll also find local merchants like Ladybug Antiques & More at the market. So if in Kingston on a Sunday, early April through late October from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., I highly recommend visiting Kingston's lovely market. It's Kingston's treasure ... where you're bound to find plenty of other treasures!
