Lots of shade and cool at around 5p in July! *Not terribly crowded when we walked here...hidden gem! *Good sized grassy area to set up sports practice, have a picnic, or rest awhile...when I was here there was a kids soccer camp with just 2 groups of kiddos CONS: *Cobwebs in the drinking fountain near the playground...bring your own water! (See picture) *Cobwebs in the doggie poo bag dispenser....please remember to bring your own bags and pick up after your pup! In fact, there was a flag football game going on when I visited. The park is very well kept and has a lot of good things to offer. It offers BBQ stations, drinking fountains, a shaded structure with tables, restrooms, hot coal disposal, modern playground equipment, and basketball courts. The gazebo is rented at $353+ and you will also be charged with a security deposit (refundable). The food gets cold very quickly. No candles or food warming element can stay lit as the wind keeps blowing them out. Table cloths are flying over the food, etc. All decorations are blown away. Terrible terrible experience. All of our efforts preparing were wasted. No electricity as it turned out it's a separate request in advance and additional fee. So what I suggest is before making a reservation, visit the park first and see for yourself. I wish we read the reviews first.

We booked space #1 for our baby shower and it was the best choice. It allowed up to 100 people with…read morevery minimal restrictions and it cost less than $250 for the whole day! The space overlooks the water and is the first space you'll see driving up. It's a bit secluded from the rest of the park allowing you to have a more private event with your guests. We ended up having just 40 people attend our baby shower, but with the ample space, it allowed us to fully decorate the space and bring separate tables for desserts and welcome table. The stage space was perfect for the photo backdrop and everything came out so beautifully. Highly recommend this space for any events, even a small outdoor wedding. Check-in was super easy and we were allowed music, decors, and even alcohol on site. Some of us came an hour early to start the decorations and stayed an hour later to clean up, but you can access your space anytime between 9-5:30pm. Everything was perfect. Our event was only 4 hours so it was more than enough time to come early to set up and fully clean up after. Restrooms are super clean, park is well maintained with rangers on-site. Parking is $5 all day and plenty of our things for guests to do such as playground for the kids or the open grass area to run around in or nice hiking trails all around for a quick exploring.

The park offers a good parking lot and a nice view all the way down to the coast on a non foggy day. It's a good park to bring the family and exercise.

We do a nice stroll after dinner. It is so lovely at sunset! The other night we were there and saw the launch trail of the rocket in the sky. So pretty with the colors of the sunset and the white rocket trail. People may be a tad frightened of my big dog but I've met loads of people that see she is a love bug. You can't ask for a better backdrop than the strand to downtown and the awesome Coronado Bridge! Last week they had a lowrider gathering with some absolutely gorgeous cars and trucks and food! I loved the music and the DJ was great! Enjoyed the music from everyone's cars. Especially enjoyed the happy people. The boats and yachts are great to look at well. Good times. Come on down see ya out there and we can have a nice chit chat. Several picnic tables throughout, nice grassy area to put down a blanket and plenty of squirrels and birds to see too.

One of the oldest parks in the South Bay. Been coming here for years, there is 2 of them in between…read morethem there's a restaurant. Both parks are good for parties & hangouts & BBQ's. When I was a kid most Easter's & Birthday parties were here. One park has a pier to fish the other has a loading deck for boats. When I was a teenager I came here as well but not for family gatherings but to hang out with friends. And it's a good spot to bring girls late at night & you know....play BINGO in the back seat :) the first park has alot of parking spots for that. Now that I'm a dad & family man I come again for birthday parties & also just to hang with family to grill & see the low riders on weekends. My favorite reason to come tho is to see the Sunsets with my daughters, have a late picnic, listen to music & just watch the sun set, love it. Me & my family's favorite park in the South Bay hands down. Now with the Gaylord Resort next door the park looks better & is extended.
