Lots of lights for the park in the evening
    Sara P.

This park is awesome. Lots of great lighting for evening winter play. Wear something warm and watch your kids tire themselves out. My 4 year had a great time, the structure is slightly advanced for him, but he still had fun.

Writing to post about the awesome new playground renovation here! State of the art equipment first of its kind that promotes a new level of accessibility!

Badminton anyone? Heck yeah! I've been frequenting this rec center once a week during the work week for the last month because my friends and I are starting to play badminton again. I have to admit, I really sucked at this game eons ago, but after picking up the racquet many years later, I improved on my game big time. Holler. I don't know the official rules of how to play the game, but I don't care, give me the birdie and I'll swing that sucker in the air...it's the perfect stress reliever and quite the workout. Other than badminton on certain days, they have a variety of other activities that I find interesting. Who knows, maybe I'll sign up for Zumba or salsa lessons. It's there and it looks like fun! Veteran's Park has something for everyone: basketball courts, baseball fields, skate park, gym, indoor table games and other classes that I might hit up soon if my busy schedule permits. It's nice to see that people in this crazy world still enjoy doing recreational stuff like this. I for one will make it a point to get my physical fitness in check now that I'm becoming older and wiser. Well maybe not wiser, but who cares. Let's go and play now.

It's a chill little park. I come here just to walk my dog or for my kids to play on the playground. They have a small dog park it's ok when there's not a lot of people there. I live across the street so it's convenient for me. Which is good cuz there parking is not that good. They got a softball/baseball field but no home run fence which bothers me. This park is good to just chill or walk your doggie but I wouldn't use it to have a party or an event. They do have a little section for the skater kids so expect to smell weed in the air. And they got a good little size basketball court. The recreation center inside has events like karate & dance for kids so check it out. And what I love bout this park it's really clean & peaceful that's always a plus for parks & me.

Tae kwon do class for kids :)

I take James here on Fridays and Saturdays for his Tae Kwon Do class. Its cute watching the kids run laps and do their kicks. I've noticed a lot of people taking classes here for fun, including adults. There are hip hop classes, belly dancing, karate, arts and crafts, and more, and prices are usually $32 for a couple of months. There's also a rock climbing wall and a huge baseball/softball field, as well as a little park for kids to play. Great for picnics. Check it out.

    No grass, but not bad

The space overlooks the water and is the first space you'll see driving up. It's a bit secluded from the rest of the park allowing you to have a more private event with your guests. We ended up having just 40 people attend our baby shower, but with the ample space, it allowed us to fully decorate the space and bring separate tables for desserts and welcome table. The stage space was perfect for the photo backdrop and everything came out so beautifully. Highly recommend this space for any events, even a small outdoor wedding. Check-in was super easy and we were allowed music, decors, and even alcohol on site. Some of us came an hour early to start the decorations and stayed an hour later to clean up, but you can access your space anytime between 9-5:30pm. Everything was perfect. Our event was only 4 hours so it was more than enough time to come early to set up and fully clean up after. Restrooms are super clean, park is well maintained with rangers on-site. Parking is $5 all day and plenty of our things for guests to do such as playground for the kids or the open grass area to run around in or nice hiking trails all around for a quick exploring.

When I was a kid most Easter's & Birthday parties were here. One park has a pier to fish the other has a loading deck for boats. When I was a teenager I came here as well but not for family gatherings but to hang out with friends. And it's a good spot to bring girls late at night & you know....play BINGO in the back seat :) the first park has alot of parking spots for that. Now that I'm a dad & family man I come again for birthday parties & also just to hang with family to grill & see the low riders on weekends. My favorite reason to come tho is to see the Sunsets with my daughters, have a late picnic, listen to music & just watch the sun set, love it. Me & my family's favorite park in the South Bay hands down. Now with the Gaylord Resort next door the park looks better & is extended. We will continue to go & see those sunsets & one day I'll bring my grandkids here too. See you soon J Street Park.

Such a good time!!…read more This is a newly renovated park that is perfect for families! The pirate-themed play structures are super cool, and the kids absolutely enjoyed running and climbing. There are plenty of activities to choose from, including a splash pad, sand play, a huge grassy area for running or flying kites, kayaking, and fishing. There is also plenty of shade for both kids and adults at the picnic tables, but there's also enough room to bring your own pop-up tent if you want. I did see porta-potties on-site. I am hoping they are just there temporarily for a restroom renovation, but no one in our group needed to use them, so I didn't get close enough to see if there were any signs posted. The parking lot has plenty of space for a normal day at the park. I imagine if there is a big event or multiple birthday parties going on it could get full, but it was fine for us. The park was incredibly clean, and my kids had a blast playing with the other children. No bullies or mean kid vibes at all, so shoutout to the parents! We will definitely be back and will come even more prepared with props to play next time.

Now it can get quite toasty for the parents because there's really no shade coverage at all, but it's perfect for the kiddos to run around through the splash pad and cool off. I liked that the pirate play structure had a variety of climbing, balancing, hanging, and sliding things. There were two bucket swings (no regular swings). And I really liked that the sand box area was pretty well separated from the splash pad and play structure. It's a big pet peeve of mine when there's sand everywhere at the other areas. As we got there relatively early, parking was still manageable but it was definitely full as we were heading out by late morning.
