All the downspouts were 'cleared' in April by MIK. All of them are totally clogged in the August rainfall. In other words they did not clear the gutters or downspouts. Our request for a report and a review was refused. Appalling customer service. When I posted a review, I received a very threatening phone call demanding I take it down. We have used men in Kilts for many years and were very happy with their service. This year they quoted us on "pole washing." We were not happy & asked them specifically to hand wash our windows , which they agreed to do. I was not home when they came but saw them pole washing on my doorbell camera. I called their service department and questioned it, they said they would hand wash. When we got back from holiday we noticed that a seal had been broken on our patio doors and there was moisture between the glass. So we were basically lied to. Won't use them again and I would suggest that people should think twice about pressure pole washing. By the way I reported this and asked that the service rep to come out and have a look but he didn't bother to call back or show up. Very disappointing!!! read more

I've been with kilts for over 4 years. at first if it snowed over night and continued to sno the would show up in the morning and again later in the day. now 4 years later they come when there is a skiff of snow. if there is more than 2 cm they come at 6-8 pm at night when the driveway is full of vehicles so they have nothing to do and your driveway remains covered. you pay for salt and it never shows up. when snow is heavy, do it yourself to avoid tickets from the city. they tell you salt just left the office and it's on its way, two days later nothing. find out where the manager went from 3 years ago and go there for services. read more

These guys are rad! They really come to your place and wash your windows in kilts. Two things they remind me of: - The Men in Tights song. Every time I see their truck. - A really bad joke that a Scottish person told me: "Why are they called kilts?" "I don't know!" "Because the last person who called them skirts was KILT!" In summer 2021 we had our windows cleaned, while I wasn't watching I heard a big bag, later about 10 min after they left we heard a very loud crack! A window broke. we complained, a manager showed up a they spent most of their time denying their fault in the crack. The small window cost 300 dollars to replace. Now I will never go with them ever again. They are not the only good company. This is the second season I have been disappointed with their cleaning. Their manager on my request went up to clean som steaks and his white towel was black from dirt. So not only did they crack my window they did a bad job. An incredible company. I was taken in by the name and their savvy marketing (it totally sets them apart from other less-memorable window cleaners) -- but I'm happy to report that the quality of their work will keep them in business and growing for a long time. There was a two hour "window" (no pun) of between 10:30 and 12:30 in which they were expected -- they showed up right at 10:30, which totally earns points with me. They really do show up in kilts! Although I didn't request inside windows to be done, Cody did a couple inside ones in addition to all the outside windows, to make sure I was getting the maximum amount out of the price quoted. He was fast, non-intrusive, did a phenomenal job, and was exceptionally courteous. (He even put up with my bad joke about him wearing the "Tartan of Clan Windex".) I'll be honest -- other window cleaners I've hired have also done a good job, but almost all have looked like crazy grifters who reek of nicotine and whom you wouldn't want to let into your house. I've traditionally been happy with the service provided by Men in Kilts but am having issues with the reliability of their snow removal. I have an annual contract but they haven't shown up for the last two snowfalls. I called Sunday to inform them that no one had come after the Friday dump and couldn't reach anyone. I called again today at 8 am and was told by Trevor that he would get dispatch to deal with it quickly. At 5:20 pm I got a call from Jason saying that his records showed that someone had been here at 1030 am on Saturday to shovel. I'm confused as to why I'd be asking for someone to come out if it was already done It's now 9 pm, 72 hours after the snowfall, and they still haven't been able to get organized to shovel. Very very disappointing. After 15 years first with Window Works and then Men in Kilts Calgary I booked a service to have my windows cleaned outside only. I came home to find half of every window clean and half filthy. When I booked the service no one asked about removing screens to clean the other half and when they couldn't they left them dirty and did not contact me to offer any solution they just put through the charge for the full service on my credit card. When I called I had to talk to 4 -5 people before getting a scheduled fix for that day oh but two hours later I get a call back from Hillary who explained that they would not be coming that day because they were fully booked and the first opening was two weeks away. I asked to speak to a manager which took two full days to get a response. Jason called and to every concern I had he offered his explanation of why. Basically it was a 20 min conversation telling why it was kind of my fault but finally he did schedule the fix later the same day. The story is not over it just goes on and on: I came home to all of my living room furniture shoved into the middle of the room and just left there. A horrible experience. After 15 years they will not be getting another call from me PS all my windows were locked when they arrived and when I came home every window was unlocked so they also left my house unsecured. read more

Waited at my rental property for 4 hours and no one arrived. No apology when I called to ask what happened to my appointment. The rescheduled and showed up but they were still late. My windows are still streaky. They were washed and squeegees but not buffed with a cloth after so the corners are a mess. read more

This is the worst company ever. I have used them twice for window cleaning. The first time, they charged me 75$ over my quoted price and didn't ask approval. The second time, I booked an appointment and waited two weeks for someone to come clean my windows. An hour after they were supposed to be here, someone called and said they were too busy and they couldn't make it and that someone would call and reschedule. We have used this company numerous times and have been happy with their services until this event. December 1,2017 they cleaned our gutters and windows and scratched the living room window right at eye level. There are four scratches horizontal about 5 inches across. We reported the concern and December 7 2017 two of their employees arrived to assess the problem. They claimed they couldn't have scratched the window! Men in Kilts is the only company I have hired to clean our windows and it is wrong to treat customers this way. It is obvious to me that they have decided to ignore the issue. Mistakes can happen to anybody but I think this problem is one they should rectify. read more

If you need snow removed don't book this company! Their website will not accept reviews (hmmmm). Have been a client for years and pay every month whether they are needed or not. Did not have snow in Sept, Oct, few days in November and now end of December... had to call to have someone come out on Saturday, no one came on Tuesday, my snow remover called at the end of the day Wednesday telling me he had a sore shoulder and was working since 6am so wouldn't be coming!!!! Had to contact the area manager on all issues and he said it didn't snow on Tuesday...Tuesday ...snow storm.... Aren't they a snow "removal" company??? So, if you are depeninding on them and you are away, maybe look elsewhere. Very difficult to contact the owner of this company. Have tried several times and impossible!!!! read more

They confirmed the appointment but on the day no one called or showed up! I had to call them and then NO satisfaction or apology. Absolutely disappointed, they missed a window, tracked mud all over my front porch, my stamped concrete patio, my roof in two places, and my flagstone pathway (which I had completed 2 days prior and they also damaged it). Hired them to save me time and it ended up creating work for me...and I'm out over $200. I've used other window cleaning companies before and never had any problems, very poor workmanship! I would have understood if they needed to reschedule due to the rain, but the technician made no mention of it being a problem, and there was only one muddy spot around the house, which he would only need to set his ladder up in for one window, so I didn't know it would be a problem.
