CAUTION in placing online orders. There is not direct contact for issues pertaining to orders. There is no route to cancel or change orders. There are no phone numbers on their web site. I placed an order an erroneously selected "Pick Up" rather than "Delivery"..... I have been charged $71 for an order that will now sit useless in a pick up bin in WVA; hundreds of miles away from me. I will not be picking up. I'm guessing, in a few weeks, someone may notice the package has remained and do 'something'. Regardless, I need these materials as soon as possible, but Menards useless contact information does nothing to help ameliorate this situation. How disappointing. Such a joke. The prices are higher than anywhere else then you have to deal with rebates. How does that work you ask. You have to keep your receipt then fill out a form with all your personal information then, mail it out to get you rebate in 6-8 weeks. Then you find out it's only store credit so you gotta come back and buy again. Such a scam. Just lower the prices read more

My husband and I are older, we have a little dog that we have brought with us so many times to do our shopping for different projects. Today we walked in after driving 2 hrs to pick out counter tops and pain and cabinets. We were told we could not bring our dog in. This is really upsetting because she is our baby she never barks and lays in the cart. I would not leave her in the car by herself so we ledt and they lost alot of money from us. Hands down the best customer service experience I have had at a home improvement store, or most places for that matter. They always have what I need and the rebate vouchers keep me coming back. The store is very neat and clean, and the quality of their products is good. Like Harbor Freight, they have levels of tool quality at different prices, letting around-the-house handymen like me stay within my budget and bigger contractors can get the bigger, better stuff. I sent a letter to their corporate office complementing our local store for everything I've said above, and an executive wrote back a personal letter thanking me for the note. I could go on and on, but it's perfect for me and my projects. read more

We had to return some items, the girl at customer service wasn't friendly at all, didn't even speak. We told her what we were there for and gave her our papers but apparently the wrong papers, she said where's your receipt, I responded that it was by email and I had deleted it. She says go to the kiosk and print your receipt, we had no idea where the kiosk was or how to do this...I said where to we go and she says "over there" (we didn't know where over there was), she wasn't the least bit interested in helping up. We figured it out and I told her she could have been more helpful.. I guess it's a bore to stand there and make a half hearted attempt to provide customer service. The first impression is the one you remember, we won't be back. We have a house to remodel but we won't bother Hannah. read more

approximately the second worst thing about living in the near south is the absence of Menardses. the big green store is what the orange and blue stores hope to be when they grow up. if you haven't had the pleasure Menards is basically a really big hardware store with an oversized snack section. sure they've got appliances and home décor and furnishings and stuff but mainly it's about building and making and fixing stuff and the stuff that helps with stuff like that. most of what I need I can find and generally at a favorable exchange rate, power tools and hand tool are available from big names or the house brand but mechanics tools are mostly the Master Force store label - I've not had any problems with them yet and don't anticipate any. a little disoriented when I visited because I'm not familiar with this layout, guessing it's the latest rendition... so I went to the service desk for assistance and a map. I really like it when the help is helpful! and bonus points for being courteous! biggest problem I have with this store is also the best thing about it: it's the closest store to my house but it's still 300 miles away... :-\ read more

We had to return a large item. Fits first we had to park, then going to the store with our receipt, and then you have to drive around back with your large item and go through a drive-through and get your receipt stamped. then you drive on down and park. Then you have to wait for someone to come and look at your receipt. Then you wait again for them to get a cart to put your large item on and you end up unloading with minimal help. Then you go back up to the drive-through hand them your receipt again and they have to stamp it then you have to park and go inside the store and get your receipt that shows that you returned it and you get your money or gift card. All of that took about 25 minutes. They need a better system. read more

Terrible experience. Ordered items for pickup at store. Showed in stock, drove 2 & 1/2 hours to pick up (parts for a Menards extreme rack that only they sell). Don't have it, could care less. Menards in Barboursville tricked my wife and daughter into buying a light. Upon returning the light they were charged a restocking fee for the special order. However, the light was not a special order. Menards considers every light a special order and charges a huge restocking fee. I will never deal with them again.BE CAREFUL!!! read more

I would not recommend anyone special order any item from this company. You have 90 days from the original purchase (not the pick up time) to return the item. We order some shutters there in July and we're told they would come in in September. I was completely fine with that. In September we were told they were on back order and would come in in December. I wasn't pleased, but THIS was out of their control. In December we called and they said they weren't in yet, and we stopped in one day and they weren't in then either, granted it was the end of December. We called in January and they said the order came in in December and since we didn't pick the items up, the shutters had been placed on the sales floor and one set had been sold. Now I'm irritated. We came and called and were told they weren't there in December. We picked up the partial order, and the guy said he would order the missing shutters. Weeks later they said the vendor no longer makes that shutter and said we could bring them back without paying the restocking fee. Upon returning the item we're told it's been beyond 90 days of the original purchase and we would have to accept store credit. DO NOT SPECIAL ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. I would have been fine with the store credit but after having been screwed over by them I wanted nothing to do with this store again. Currently trying to talk to corporate about the fact the receipt has an expressed warranty /promises an email to the customer when items come in and the breach of contract that took place when they did not email me. read more
