While walking up to the washer, James said I doubt it is springs as seal looks perfectly good and usually they are misshapened when springs are off.... He opened up back of machine and immediately noticed a couple of issues, then quoted repair costs. As it turns out however machine is 21 years old and repairs will run more than what a new replacement would be! So I naturally decided not to repair but replace, after he thoroughly explained everything to me, then got everything back together so I can use it until I can arrange for a replacement. Their technician quickly identified that the compressor start switch had failed. He replaced the switch, and the refrigerator has worked perfectly ever since.
