The customer service that I received here made me feel like a unwelcome customer. If you come to this store not knowing where exactly what you need is located, upon asking a employee for assistance locating your item, you will be made to feel as if you are disturbing them from something of Great importance, followed with a Vague answer. Menards "offers" an 11% rebate many times throughout the year, where they have a rebate form attached to your receipt that you are supposed to detach, fill out a form, and submit it to receive a rebate in the mail that you can use for your next purchase at their store. I assume the rebate is intended to drive sales by bringing in more customers under the premise that they will receive a rebate, which is a great business plan for Menards; however, the promise of a rebate is just that, a promise. Over the past few months, I have spend quite a lot of money at Menards, and have submitted a total of four (4) rebates to-date. Yet, I have not received one single rebate in the mail. I have submitted two inquiries and have yet to receive a response. I am wondering if these rebates are even being mailed or if somebody in that department that processes the rebates is either pocketing the rebates or sending them to a friend or family member. I have attached a photo captured from Menards website that indicates two of the four rebates that I submitted as having been processed that I have not received. My question to Menards is, "where are these rebates?" And, don't give me the old song and dance about not being responsible for items getting lost in the mail. My suggestion is that instead of mailing these rebates, set up an online portal for those rebates to be retrieved from or simply place them in one of your internal servers where customers can request their rebates at the time of their next purchase. If I could give this zero stars I would. The lack of customer service was truly shocking. In a world where businesses are built on customer service, this one certainly is not. I purchased $500 worth of products and realizing that three of the products weren't what I needed, I tried to return. The value of the products I returned was $175. I received $84 back. When asked why I was told, "the system won't let me give you any more." I have complained to corporate who is not helpful either. My advice, never shop here. I lost $90 for no reason. read more

This is for the Menards in Moline. If I could give 0 stars I would. This complaint is a Menards policy for all stores. Was in the store looking at washers and dryers decided we would come back once we closed on our house to buy them. Asked how much shipping and installation would be, we were told $80 but could be $100. Didn't care to find out exact price. Came back purchased the item, of course shipping and installation $100. Was not told days earlier because of Covid, they can't install machines. Delivery guys showed up, could tell they were not employees of Menards, very polite and very carefully unloaded the machines. Do to covid they were unable to bring the machines inside and install them, so the machines got dropped in my driveway. I hauled machines inside my house by myself, and after two trips to farm and fleet to get the right hardware I installed them myself. I went to the website to find out where I could ask why I was still charged full price for me doing 80% of the work. It's very hidden and Menards has a very archaic way of doing complaints. You have to print out a form hand write out your complaint and mail it into Menards. So about a month later I got my response, I was not surprised they didn't answer any of my questions and they denied my request. So while their competition is offering free delivery, Menards is taking advantage of this covid crisis to profit...sickining. read more

It's like an IKEA for hardware.(referring to the new 2014 store). That's not really a compliment. The pros: it's huge, super huge, has an amazing amount of stuff, with ample parking. If you want it, it's probably in there somewhere. The cons: it's super huge.Like an IKEA, this store is now a destination, not a quick get my part and get out type sort. For me that's not good - I'm in a hardware store 1-3 times a day as a landlord-rehabber. And it's surprisingly hard to get in and out of the store due to the weird side roads and who has the right-of-way. I actually sat through two lights to make a left turn on a mid-Tuesday morning. My hope is that they'll figure it out with the city and eventually improve things And the lighting is very...dim. I'll still go there, although the yard is still a major problem for me (I hate their yard. The staff are always rude, incompetent and unhelpful. I guess this place is a home improvement store equivalent to the west coast Lowe's and Home Depot I am use too. This store was nice and even had a grocery section. We picked up some Wisconsin made root beer here that was even on sale! I guess it's one of the only places you can get it in the Quad Cities Area. read more

I enjoy going to Menards. Wide range of products. Helpful, courteous employees. If I can't find something, an employee will take me to it. Of course, Menards can't control how people drive around the parking lot. I have never had a reason to complain. A family member goes so often, sometimes I call it his home. And he has never had a complaint. He is a person who would be one of the first to complain if he was not satisfied. read more

Poorly laid out plan getting into the parking lot. People speeding through the outer lanes, watch yourself, you may get crashed into Also coming out to the main St. lots of luck trying to get out on that street with residential traffic coming from the right.. Park in the CENTER of the lot, 1 way in 1 Way out. Stupid! God help you if you're handicapped getting back to your car, let alone through this huge store. And drop bread crumbs to find you way back out of this monstrosity. Candy,nuts expensive, go to Farm & Fleet, same things far more cheaper! I hate this hardware store, let alone the several mile drive and have ran into other customers who HATE this new store. They are driving to the other part of town to Lowe's an Home Depot. They also do NOT restock items that are on sale, big gaping spots. If it's in the ad and on sale restock it! Failure for business layout and service! read more

My best advice is don't rely on Menards to match paint. We bought paint for our living room 3 years ago. We went back to get the same paint because we needed to touch up and guess what they cannot match it. We spent 45 minutes while they tried different formulas-none worked. Now our only choice is to repaint the whole wall. They explained that they changed formulas and magenta is not magenta anymore. What? I said the paint does not match. Then the girl( under 25) said No it doesn't match now. What does that even mean? Is it going to match sometime in the future? So there is no point in keeping the code from the can or even having a paint code. We have a friend who chose a paint color from the rack and it didn't match the swatch. Menards may do a lot of things well but paint mixing is not one of them. read more
