How do you not love Menards? Save BIG money. They have really pretty decent pricing and most everything you need from a hardware store. Good selection, good prices, always an 11% mail in rebate going on, seriously I wish they would just give us the discount, is this a scheme to keep the post office employed by mailing those in and of course how many people never do so Menards isn't out anything, I don't like it. Of the Menards in the Omaha area, this one seems to be the most accommodating. They will happily order what they don't have or, if not able to order, they will make a note and call when the item is back in stock. They don't just say they will call, they actually do--even if it's a few months later. I appreciate that level of customer service. Covid update: as of today, they only require unvaccinated people to wear masks. They do not ask for proof. read more

Poor layout. Only one electric cart and a few wheelchair carts. Terrible customer service. We asked the employee if they had Christmas welcome mats and if so where they would be, and she just said if we didn't see them they didn't have them. She didn't provide any assistance whatsoever. read more

I needed to pick up batteries and a replacement garbage can today. Choices were either a Home Depot, Lowe's, or an Ace Hardware store. I picked Menards based on the following reasons. Parking is easier compared to the other stores. Cashiers are plentiful unless you like the self service checkout. I believe the variety is better displayed compared to the competition. I also compliment the store for going out constantly to retrieve the shopping carts unlike other places. read more

Have been here before and have been happy. This time not so much. I bought mulch online so it would be ready to pick up. I go tot he online pick up and they say to go to lawn and garden. Go there and no mulch. I ask for help they say it's sold out and so is the other stores. No further help or assistance and when I ask about it should be here ready for online pick up I'm just told you get 3 days. SMH not happy read more

My experience today at menards was amazing and I owe that to the General Manager Jim. We came to get the yard mulch that was on sale, but unfortunately they were out of stock. Jim came to the rescue and substituted the premium mulch at the same price. It kept our yard work and our day and budget on schedule and I appreciated that so much. Worst customer experience from 3 different people in 3 different departments. First situation the person kept guessing at the answers for a waterproof carpet tape, saying there was no such thing, then admitting she was in her fist week and finally offered to look it up (which should be one of first responses when you do not know). Finally an experienced person came. Second one - a special order due in yesterday. After finally finding the order rep just said "oh, it is on order with vendor." After asking 3 separate times when we could expect it in, he said we had to go ask someone else. Nope, he could not call - no one else waiting so he was happy to go back to doing nothing. Third - we wanted heavy duty plastic lattice and what was on the wall was the thin style that does not hold up. After waiting for the customer service person to finish reading something interesting on his phone and finally notice me, I asked what the thickness was on the wall sample, 1/8 or 1/4. "It's about this thick", holding two fingers slightly apart, as if my eye sight was inadequate and I could not see that myself. "Can thicker be ordered?", I asked, only to have him reply "what is on the wall is all we have in stock." Again I ask "can thicker be ordered?", and heard (as if I had the hearing problem) "this is all we have in stock." I had to physically climb up on cement blocks to measure - (our friendly customer rep went back to his phone), verifying what we were seeing was the 1/8". I wish I could give a negative star. 1 - reps do not listen, they hear and either guess or give an answer that does not align with the question, or repeat some other meaningless response. But they do not LISTEN. 2 - cell phone is more important than making a sale or getting the answer. 3 - these reps would rather do nothing, literally, than take extra steps to actually be helpful. They should say "can I help you with something easy, because if it is the least bit involved I am not interested in helping." That sets a realistic customer expectation - at least I would know asking was a waste of time. Note - these were not fresh out of high school people (2 were at least 40) and English was their first language. No excuse. read more
