I came in looking at shower options, and basically found what I was after. The style and size I need are very rare, and I did not expect to buy one today. I was able to find one product to fit my needs as a three-piece, alcove, shower, but the door was not in stock, and would need to be purchased online. This stock is similar to other stores I have looked at, so this was no surprise. The staff was helpful, I asked them about the product I am after, and they were able to clarify, which type of door I need with this, and why they are so hard to find. This was much appreciated!! I'm very happy to report the Home Depot stores in Omaha have consistently high levels of support and their staff. Where I live, they don't have nearly as many people available to help, and the stores here are just as busy as they are back home. Having extra people makes a huge difference when you're the customer. This is the second Home Depot I walked into, and they were not only prompt and friendly with their service, but they were able to provide the exact cut on the piece of wood that I needed. And, they were fast. I had to go a few aisles over to pick up a couple of things, and by the time I came back the wood was cut. After a huge debacle Mr Davis promised to call us back but 2 weeks later he has made no attempt to reach us. Mr. Zigler and his manager were just amazing. Original flooring was too high priced, Mr. Z found other flooring on sale that was just as beautiful. When we had a huge snow and cold storm in January, they delivered the flooring and all of the trim themselves when it was -22 at 7pm at night so that we could get it acclimated by the Monday install day. I bought some deck stain that came very highly recommended by the staff at the store to put on a new deck. It was terrible terrible terrible. We had to hand sand it all off and start over. You can imagine how much work this was. I put a review on the home depot site and it was rejected and not posted. It was their product and did not want to post a bad reviews of their own products. This was a great visit to Home Depot. I needed 8 eighteen inch long handrails ADA approved for a lab room setting. When I entered, an employee was standing at near the doors greeting people and asking if we needed assistance? My first question dealt with NE exemptions for state sales tax and he said the cashier would be able to handle this. The second question was locating the handrails which he replied 'aisle 8'. He probably saved me 10 minutes of walking through the aisles. Once I arrived with 8 handrails at the check-out, he asked if I registered my exemption card with Home Depot and the answer was no. Instead of pulling me out of line and making me stand in a customer service area, he handled everything quickly, trouble shooting questions the computer was flagging. I was able to receive the tax exemption within 45 seconds without upsetting people waiting behind me in the line. 5 stars for the employees at this Home Depot and 5 stars for Home Depot training their employees to be compassionate and helpful to new customers like myself. read more

The customer service experience was terrible at the store. 1. No one was ever available in flooring, either when I called or when in store. You make it impossible to give you 10,000 dollars for some reason. 2. I got the total runaround on the price match. I came to the store several times without resolution. I had to wait and wait for a manager to make a decision to later find out that they couldn't figure it out and had to ask someone else. Then, that person couldn't answer either, and I was told to just try to submit the match coupon and see what happened! Seriously?! Then online for submission, they didn't have the dates of the coupon yet, so I had to mail it in and have no idea if I'll get the discount or not. All this for a max of $500 in store credit...on a $10,000 purchase. Completely frustrating. The installers were really pretty good and the result looks good, but there was significant downside associated with the process. The downsides: the vinyl flooring guys were two hours late, and I had to take vacation time to let them in. Then they went until 11 pm with the installation. Neither crew did a suitable job of cleaning up. Spare materials and trash were left everywhere by the vinyl floor installers. White plastic wrappings were left everywhere by the carpet installers. The carpet installers also scratched the heck out of our kitchen wall corners with my dresser (I know because the paint is still on the dresser drawers!). I feel the need to tell everyone I know how terrible this experience was with the Home Depot. I'd never use you again or tell anyone to use you. Should have just stuck with Lowe's and not tried to save the buck (which, as explained above, I'm not sure I'll actually ultimately save). read more

Placed an online order for a GE dishwasher. Came in after 4 months. Installers, OCB Plumbing, did not install it properly, and also installed an obviously defective product. Of course there is no way to contact Home Depot by email, only through multiple layers of phone choices. I've always liked Home Depot, but it is on Lowe's from now on. And hopefully GE will stand by their product. A GE technician came out after I contacted them and could not believe the installation. read more

I went in for a new bathroom sink stopper to the store at 144th & Maple, I didn't see what I was looking for in the isle, so I found an employee. He tells me he does not know about plumbing but he would call someone for me, He calls and talks to someone, who after just a few seconds just hangs up on him. He calls the guy back, they argue for several minutes about who he SHOULD call to come help me, he then said do I just tell her to go somewhere else? He then turned away never said a word to me and just walks away. No one ever came to help me. As I was leaving the store I see him walking through the paint dept. Really, the people here are consistently friendly, helpful and (somewhat shockingly) knowledgeable and experienced. The 127th Center Home Depot web site said it was carrying a particular hanging tomato basket. I have made a total of 7 calls. 4 times I was transferred to the garden center. Each time I was disconnected. I tried 3 times to get to the store manager. After 30 seconds the call goes back to where you were before.One of the 3 times I was disconnected. The last time the customer service rep brought some one that said he was the store manager to the phone. He took my phone number and said he would go to the garden center to check for me. He called back and said "he did not see the tomato basket I was looking for." Apparently the garden center doesn't talk to store management either! I understand that they are busy, but hanging up on customers is unacceptable. read more

I know it is an evil big box store but they have great prices on moving and cleaning supplies. I hate having to chase someone down to get a key made. Really? How come you can never find someone when you need them here? Want to mount your tv? Prices can be very competitive. OMG. We bought a washer and dryer back before Thanksgiving. We paid up front and was promised a delivery on the following Tuesday. They showed up and the dryer was broken. So they left. Then they rescheduled for the Monday after Thanksgiving. Then they called back and scheduled for the Friday after Thanksgiving between 7 and 11am. At 8am that day they called and cancelled because they didn't have a dryer. Then they called and scheduled delivery on the Wednesday after Thanksgiving between 10:30 and 2:30pm. They called at 2 and said they'd be here at 2:30. They arrived at 3. They installed the washer and dryer. The next day we had a plumber out for a drain issue and he noticed that the cold and hot were installed backwards on the washer and the hose for the steam mechanism on the dryer may have been backwards as well. We are not amused at this point and await a tech to come and remedy the hookups. Update...so they can have someone out to fix the backwards hookup in just 9 days. read more

Spent time to go to the store and talk to a door salesman about new front (exterior) doors. I just wanted the door slabs to replace the existing ones which are warped and leaking air. So they send out someone to measure the doors (I had to take off work and be home for this). Then the salesman calls me ask me if I want a wood or fiberglass door. I asked for estimates on both. I hear nothing back from them for a week. I go back to the store and talk to the door salesman. He tells me that they won't sell me a set of door slabs because they are "too complicated" to build. What a poor excuse for a service department. I suggest going elsewhere. read more

I have officially stopped shopping at Lowes as they just don't have the selection nor the price comparison that HD does. Plus, I purchased a $600 Bosch mitre saw and when I got home the dust collector was broke off. Went back in a week later and they opened a few others to find that they were also broken on the others. However, they found one that was undamaged and took it off the saw and gave it to me, no questions. Awesome! Also, I needed to purchase some superstrut and tried at Lowes and all they had was a 10 foot piece and wouldn't cut it in half for me so I couldn't buy it. So, I went to HD and they had the exact same 10 foot piece and I asked the guy if he could cut it in half and his response was "Sure, let me find a hacksaw." This is the type of service that keeps people coming back. And for those of you who know how to read financial statements, it is apparent that people speak with their wallets because HD is crushing it! read more

These guys do a nice job of offering everthing under one roof. They dont do some things that a small hardware store would do like cut glass etc. I have been happy with the employees knowledge of where things are. The employees are often able to give good advice on projects from time to time. The paint selection and pricing is pretty good as well. read more
