Great store! I shop thre almost every week. Just two criticisms: *The Men's restroom ranks last compared with Lowes and Home Depot. The electric hand dryers are the wimpiest I have ever seen. How about upgrading them with the powerful, high air volume, units that have been around for several years. *Often the supply of "specials" is gone within a day of the ad coming out. I realize that sometimes this is impossible to correct, as it could be a "special product buy-out" from a manufacturer or supplier. Perhaps you could substitute, limiting the Quantity. So I screwed up and purchased Atlas roofing from Menards. I put it on in April so it was around 70 degrees. As I was finishing the shingles wear ripping from me walking on them. I had to do a number of repairs. I reported this to Menards management with pictures and they said they would get back to me. A few weeks later I received a copy of a letter they sent to Atlas about my complaint. And that's the end of the story because nothing else was done. No work from Atlas and no word from Menards. I purchased deck building materials to be delivered to job site Oct 25, 2020. They shipped them via ABF to Grand Rapids. They then sent them to their Muskegon Store. The materials last known location was Menards store in Muskegon Michigan. I spent a few weeks trying to get merchandise delivered to the job site. Menards wouldn't cooperate. With winter closing in I was forced to re-order from another supplier. Today I have documentation proving that Menards excepted the materials into the Muskegon Michigan store. They have lied to VISA claiming they delivered the product. Fact is they delivered it to themselves and I have a copy of the Bill of Lading that shows this. They completely ignore the facts and continue to lie to VISA while holding $1,928.74 of my funds for materials they didn't deliver. This battle has started into its 3rd month. read more

Bought a deck from Menard's and finally received an accurate order over a month later after many tries: - Told employee multiple times that we wanted a deck that was 20 feet long, but she ordered us a deck that was 12 feet long. We called back saying that the deck was too short, and she said that Menard's doesn't sell decks that are 20 feet long. I showed her a photo of the deck's product description that stated that it did in fact come in lengths 20 feet long. We had to resend the 12 feet deck back to Menard's and replace our custom order. - We ordered our deck and a week later, another employee called to tell us that some parts of the deck hasn't arrived yet. She said that we had to wait a few weeks for the parts to come in. - The parts came in - but the parts were broken. So we had to wait another few weeks for the replacement parts to come in. - The deck has finally been delivered, but we opened the package that we paid over $6000 for, but half the parts are missing. How am I supposed to build a deck without any of the stair rails, the fence, and other accessories to hold everything together? My family has been waiting at home every Thursday and Friday morning to have an incorrect deck order fulfillment be delivered. We've been very patient, answering all phone calls/emails and dealing with all of the issues, but Menard's has made a few mistakes too many on their part. I recommend going back several times and talking with various staff people before starting a project. I purchased the Richmond fence panels, posts and concrete. The staff person I initially spoke with said to put 4 x4's inside the posts. As it turns out this cannot be done. He also sold me the wrong concrete which I had to return. When I spoke with the manager of the department, I was told that sales person was "new". Menards needs to train their staff instead of creating more problems for their customers. read more

The only complaint I have is the quality of staff they currently have. Used to have some pretty knowledgeable people working in the various departments. Not so much anymore. The weekends are the worst....you basically have a bunch of clerks giving you advice on your plumbing, electrical, etc projects. They are clueless. read more

I ordered a gift card for my Mom-In-law for Mother's Day. They did not send the gift card. When I found out, they claim it was flagged as fraud and cancelled the order. My billing address is the same on the receipt as on the card! My phone number and email were on the order but they did not contact me, so my Mom-In-Law thought we forgot about her on Mother's Day! DO NOT purchase gas powered items from Menards . I purchased a $899.00 dollar Poulan Pro 27" 25CC SKU # 2703335 on 1/14 which has broken down after using it only three times not having even a week. I phoned the Muskegon Store, asking to return or exchange, speaking with Sam, who said he was the general manager for the Muskegon location. He said that it wasn't returnable because gas had been put in the tank. I used it three times and the wont stand behind the product they sell. He said that it will have to go to a authorized repair shop. It weighs a few hundred pounds, it is not that easy to get it there. I shop there for the price, not the customer service, and I will not order windows from them ever again. They screwed up the entire order, and then tried putting the blame on me instead of simply apologizing for the screw up that they made. I was not even looking for a refund, I just wanted them to recognize the mistake so that it would not happen again, but lesson learned, I know how it will not happen again, I now order all my windows elsewhere. The woman greeter purposely ignored me as I walked in. Bad for business to treat a customer that way. Off-putting to say the least. I can't speak for everybody but to me it's hard to buy something from a store where workers have an attitude and only choose certain people to be friendly to. Starting last August and still to this day, I purchased a 700 Yard Sport from the Muskegon Menards, and the Reader's Digest Version goes like this. The first one I received was so defective that I went direcly to the Asst. Manager and had her arrange for an exchange. Then the replacement was just as defective as the first one however the store manager REFUSED to give me a refund after I notified him of the numerous mechanical and safety defects. Mind you, I spent well over $7000.00 for this piece of junk. Well, I sent numerous letters to John Menard, jr. who just ignored them. So then I filed a 38 page report with the credit company, with copies of the lies and deciet that this manager, DAN HERRERA had engaged in, and still nothing happened. So I put the machine in storage and advised Herrera of its location and how much I would hold him responsible for paying for the storage. Never have heard a thing and it's been more than 10 months. The fees now are more than the machine is worth! My lawyer just advises that I drop the defective item off at their store and refuse to pay for it. This I have not done because it's not good business manners, however, I guess if they continue to screw me out of my many thousands of dollars, I guess I'll be left with no other options. Suffice it to say, that it will be my life long commitment to detour each and every possible customer away from this store and get them shopping at Lowe's where they do exactly what they say they will do and the really stand behind their products 100%! read more

Having read the other reviews I found it quite the contrary. I went to this Menards at 7am on a Saturday and thought it was one of the friendliest stores I have been too. The woman at the entrance greeted me and although there was a lot of stocking going on, four different employees approached me and all were helpful and polite. read more
