I asked for a simple cake with cursive writing- not even a specific font just whatever cursive writing the baker was comfortable doing. On the day of my engagement party, months after placing the order for this cake, Jeevani sent me a picture of my cake with an icing sheet on the cake with printed cursive writing- the icing paper was white and the icing on the cake was cream. I explained that it does not match and I asked for writing to be directly written onto the cake. Jeevani then explained that she is not good at hand writing but will try- would have been nice to have known this when I showed her the cake I envisioned when I placed the order. Jeevani then attempted to write on the cake and yes she was correct her handwriting was not very nice but also she didn't even take the time to see how to correctly spell the word engaged. I explained to her this needs to be fixed I cannot have this as my engagement cake- this was all happening a few hours before my party. I asked her to keep icing on the side and the icing sheet and I will take somewhere else to fix. When I came to pick up the cake I let Jeevani know she should let customers know prior to giving a deposit that she should be honest and let her client know she can't do handwriting. I then asked for the icing and icing paper. She said ok il be back and shut the door in my face. She then came back with icing and handed me a A4 piece of paper with the writing printed on it. I asked for the icing paper and she said she threw it out. I said to her I asked you before coming and you said ok. This is unacceptable and I have to run around to get this fixed please can you do an icing sheet. Jeevani started screaming at me then shut the door in my face. Absolute awful service! As a paying customer you do not treat people this way. Very disappointed. Worst part was when I got home after running around to get it fixed I explained to her I was upset and asked to be reimbursed in some sort. She then offered to give me the icing sheet which is a couple hours too late. Fast forward a couple hours as me and my fiancé go to cut the cake it completely falls apart. Terrible experience and will not be ordering again.

We had the turkey sandwich for lunch with lavender lemonade.. the sandwich was great but I'd rather they don't grill it with the lettuce in it (got cooked lettuce) and add the lettuce later. Lavender lemonade was very refreshing ( maybe add a little more lavender) and then we ended with pomegranate cheese cake which was light and tasty. Christine, the shop owner, was warm and welcoming right from when we entered her shop. Lollies and Scoops has sooo many different options of treats, both salty and sweet as well as international ones! At the front of the shop, there is a freezer with some frozen treats like Neale's Sweet n' Nice Ice Cream ($3ish, made out of Toronto with yummy Caribbean flavours to choose from). There is also a cold display case housing edible cookie dough (around $5) and some international drinks! Yummm! We picked up a Reese flavoured cookie dough one to try and two drinks. The shop has different categories labelled on the walls to help guide shoppers, such as Old School, International, Salty, etc. There are also fun stuffies, socks, earrings, etc. making this place a whimsical gift shop in addition to being a sweets shop. Christine mentioned that they will be scooping ice cream too come the summertime. I can see that being very successful with the locals as well as tourists.
