My boyfriend made me discover this new ice cream shop. When we arrive the location had at least 10 people waiting in line so we had to wait outside. We decided to go with a medium size bowl. They gave us the option to select from three options. I made up my mind on pistachio, coconut, And turtle. They didn't seem to have a lot of gelato option available, I want to say six-eight. Since I am gluten intolerant, I was also more limited and my choice. they had a lot of sorbet option available but it's less my cup of tea. I personally didn't like the pistachio gelato. However I did really like the turtle Caramel flavour with pecans. I like coconut as well so it was nice to mix them together and get even more flavours combinations. They have a really cute patio outside with a little plant garden. It was really nice to sit down and enjoy this little treat. I will be coming again since I believe flavour change from time to time.

You can choose 3 flavors as long as it's not the kiddie cup. I got chocolate, salted caramel, and hazelnut. Fking decadent. Ofc I got medium to devour BEFORE dinner cause dessert is for anytime of the day. ANYTIME ALL DAY ERRRDAY

Stella Luna is a small gelato cafe with a big offering of gelato and other delicious treats. Beyond their Gelato, their menu includes different pastries and crepes. My order was a medium sized cup of gelato ($9)I was allowed to choose up to 3 flavours that were displayed in a refrigerator, under a glass surface. Various flavours enticed us as the creamy gelato danced underneath our very eyes. We settled on Vanilla, Maple Walnut and Passionfruit and Guava flavours. The portions were very generous, no skimping here! Armed with a small plastic spoon, I retreated back to one of many small wooden tables with my spoils, eager to satisfy my sweet tooth. The gelato was flavourful and creamy. The Passionfruit snd Guava flavour was tangy which complimented the sweet Vanilla and Maple Walnut flavours well. This is easily one of the best gelatos I have ever had the pleasure of eating! The restaurant itself was cozy and quiet. I noticed that all the other patrons seemed to enjoy their desserts, as well. Overall, I would recommend anyone to wanting to satisfy their gelato craving to give Stella Luna a visit. Tip: On Sunday's after 9pm, gelato is 40% off.

Definitely a must try if you're in Ottawa. This gelato was super creamy and absolutely delicious. I got the medium with three flavours: Ferrero Rocher, chocolate, and pistachio. Their cappuccino was also very good and paired perfectly with the gelato. The place was very clean and neat. 4 stars because an employee there needs to have more patience with customers, including kids. Other than that, everything was very good

Bustling Cafe known for their award winning Gelato. Their winning feature, for me, is their generous portions. If you order a small in a waffle cone, you get 3 scoops of Gelato. I had to pause 3/4 into my Gelato nomming to decided if it was worthwhile to finish. The answer was yes. Their Gelato is super smooth and creamy. They don't have the most extensive flavor selection but they do switch up their flavours regularly. I wasn't thrilled by the 3 flavours I ended up choosing (I'm very indecisive and there was a time pressure)-- Tiramisu, raspberry white chocolate, and cookies n' cream, but I did consume the whole thing down to the tip of the waffle cone. They had several chocolate options and some sorbet options that day. Not my jam, but I'm sure other peeps salivate over that stuff. If you come in a day with flavours you like, I think it'd be a heavenly experience.

This place was bumping on a Sunday night! I had a sweet tooth craving, so my friend and I drive there at 9PM to have some dessert. Unfortunately, the dessert menu was no longer available for the late hours, so we just had gelato. I had the chili chocolate, the tiramisu and the hazelnut in one bowl. It was a heavenly experience the whole time, until the lil bowl was empty. The servings were generous. Even then, I scraped the liquid that was left. Service was friendly and they let you taste the flavours of the gelato. Would come back again.

If you're looking for one of Ottawa's food gems, then Stella Luna is one of them. Stella Luna has been recognized nationally and internationally for their amazing gelato. They have a variety of flavours ranging from Coconut Stracciatella, Sangria Sorbet, and their famous Maple Bourbon Pecan gelato. Honestly, you cannot go wrong with any of the flavours as each flavour has its own story and personality that you partake in every bite/spoonful of gelato you eat. The prices for the bowls and cones is a little pricey, but it's well worth the cost. The atmosphere of the cafe is very relaxing as you feel like you're inside an actual Italian cafe. It's a good place to catch up with friends and family, take someone out on a date, or even to just to finish some schoolwork. As everyone else who has reviewed this place, be prepared to wait a bit for your chance to select your flavours. This place can be packed to the point where a 30 minute wait is often normal on their peak times. However, the wait and cost is well worth it as you go on through a journey through Italy as you sample Stella Luna's gelato.

5 stars out of 5 for: - went on a Sunday evening i.e., be prepared to line up (it moves fast though) - delish gelato! (I had the following flavours: rich chocolate with salty caramel; raffaelo & coconut; & chocolate with toffee.) - family friendly place - the place also offers paninis, salads & other desserts (pies, cookies) - good for big groups - they have reused church pews/benches with their tables - they also have tea & coffee - items are also for sale that are good for gifting - go!

The staff was very kind. They are able to fit up to 3 flavors per cup and 2 per cone...and let me tell you it's 3 generous servings of flavors per cup! I had a mix of hazelnut, vanilla and some type of chocolate-chili gelato and was knocked out by the chocolate-chili flavor. The other two were very well done but I was just amazed by the chocolate-chili. The chili gave a little kick to let you know it was the star but didn't leave you in tears. I was only sad to see no pistachio gelato! The espresso was decent. They have the option of an affogato (gelato covered in espresso) which is always fun! It's a nice place to bring family and friends and I'd recommend anyone to stop by and stroll down the block, which is filled with other interesting stores! If you're not up for a stroll there is plenty of sitting space indoors.

What I ordered: 2 flavours - White chocolate Raspberry and Roasted almond (around $5) Pros: - Option to try many unique flavours with generous portions. The portions are bigger than other places I've been to in Europe for a better price. - This place advertises that they have the 4 th best gelato in the world. - other than gelato, they have other desserts on display as well. - Cozy cafe near the canal, with many delicious scone and pie shops nearby. Cons: - went on a weekday afternoon and there wasn't any lineups but heard that there can be long lines during popular hours.

Great coffee, London fog latte, hot apple cider and frittata! Will visit again for sure. They also have gelatos and definitely recommend to try white chocolate rosewater! The seating area is very nice and cozy as well!

Super tasty gelato! I came on a Wednesday night at 9pm and the line was out the door. There was only 2 people scooping gelato but the line went by pretty fast. Kudos to the staff! You pay with the cashier first & then get your gelato. My family of 3 adults and 2 kids were struggling to finish our 2 large cups - incredibly filling for a dessert. We got a cup of mango, passionfruit, and lychee. Lychee was all of our favorites! We also got a cup of more coffee/chocolate items. We got a hazelnut, Irish coffee, and an almond cup which all the flavors kinda mashed together but still great. Irish coffee was great with a hint of baileys inside :) I noticed that there's definitely a discrepancy in the amount of gelato between the two workers.

Large cup of gelato (three flavours) and a caffe latte.

Whether it's soft serve, hand churned ice cream, or the smell of fresh waffle cones , there is a flavour for everyone at this spot along Bank Street! The Cereal Milk flavour is one of my favourite options to enjoy as it feels like breakfast with the balance of the vanilla milk base pairing well with the simple corn flakes for added texture. I had been meaning to try them since they opened but I wasn't quite feeling for ice cream in the Fall or Winter and then when Spring and Summer came along the lines were out the door, and you know me, I hate lines and crowds, lol. So finally on a warm but gloomy and overcast Sunday in June, I found myself in The Glebe walking by Haven's Creamery and lo and behold it was empty! So my husband and I went in for a couple of scoops of their ice cream. I was deciding between their London Fog, Passion Fruit Cheesecake and Strawberry flavours. I was offered samples of all three and I decided on the Passion Fruit Cheesecake (the London Fog flavour was too subtle for me, I was hoping for more potency. And the Strawberry while tasty was too ordinary for me, haha). My husband was much more decisive and didn't even sample anything. He got the Mint Chocolate Chip. We got our scoops in a bowl and they were $5.25 each. The Passion Fruit Cheesecake had a nice passion fruit flavour to it. Not as potent as I would have liked, but it was pronounced enough. It had pieces of cheesecake in it along with graham cracker crumb crust. It wasn't too sweet, which I appreciated. It was good. I had a taste of my husband's Mint Chocolate Chip and I really appreciated that it didn't have any artificial green colour. The mint was subtle and the chocolate chips were too large and too hard for my liking. However, he enjoyed it. Overall, I'm glad I finally got to try Haven's Creamery. I like that they have more creative flavours. The portion size was rather small, so it was a bit spendy for my wallet, so I won't be a regular, but definitely happy to have more ice cream options in town. Service was pleasant. There are 2 tables for 2 with chairs at the front of the store and a couple of high tables with no chairs. They sell ice cream by the pint as well. Street parking only.

After learning that the latter only accepted cash, I checked out Amore Gelato. There was a bit of a lineup, so I knew that it was a good sign. There was a mom in front of me with her kids. We had a nice chat after she specifically said to her kids that they'd get exactly one scoop of ice cream. "We can't have them go on a sugar high and crash," I said, smiling. "Exactly. I'm getting two scoops, though" she said, laughing. This joint offers options for everyone. You can get a variety of gelato flavours that are made fresh every day. Gelato has dairy in it. If you're like me and want a dairy-free option, sorbetto is a nice alternative. I had overheard the conversation between the woman behind the counter and a couple about to pay for their treats: "Is it cash only?" the woman asked. "No, that's the Crazy Moose. We accept all cards and cash," the female staffer said. One word: yes! This same female staffer helped me out with my order. I got the following sorbetto flavours in a cup: - Guava - Lychee I paid with a credit card. I also tipped, thankful that I could use plastic to pay. I thanked her and left with my frozen dessert. There were a handful of little tables with chairs inside the store, but they were all taken. Instead, I went out in the hot weather and found outdoor seating. Luckily, there is a rather large tree that provided a lot of shade. There was also a breeze, so I wasn't sweating buckets. I loved my sorbetto. The guava and lychee were reminiscent of having Vitasoy as a kid. I loved these flavours. They were captured perfectly in the sorbetto, which wasn't all that sweet. The sorbetto scoops were refreshing and enjoyable to consume on a hot July afternoon. There were pigeons that looked like they were innocently befriending me. They were actually waiting for me to make a klutzy move. If I had dropped my sorbetto, they'd feast. They never got any of mine. I finished all of it. So good! It was nice to people-watch as I had my sorbetto. If you have the time to stop and enjoy things in ByWard Market, come here for a scoop of yumminess and savour it. It's a great place. I'd return in a heartbeat. (310)
