I will bring them back to thin out the canopies in a year or two. One more thing worth noting - during our initial walkthrough I mentioned the new pavers on the ~70' long driveway. Highly unethical! They dumped a hot steaming pile of lemon peels and wet compost on my driveway! They assured me that they will give me good wood chips for my kids playground then the next day proceeded to dump 10 yards of hot steamy compost made of moldy dirt, wet leaves, and lemon peels. They basically dumped trash on my driveway. That's what he described to me as "Oh it's perfect for the playground" (They disguised the 10 yards of trash under another 10 yards of usable wood chips. I contacted Mendoza's Tree Service to prune and trim our 20+ year old orange tree. The orange tree is 2 stories tall and came with the house, planted by the previous owner. According to the neighbors, the previous owner never trimmed the tree. It produced massive amounts of oranges (which are delicious) but the branches were growing over the roof of the 2-story house and blocking most of the sunlight from my daughter's upstairs bedroom window. Marcos was quick to reply after an initial quote request made through Yelp. He was able to come that day for an estimate and scheduled to trim the tree just two days later! During the estimate, he used a green laser pointer to show his plan on shaping the tree. He also discussed how pruning would help the tree's health, removing the dead wood that was taking energy from the tree and how the pruning would help produce more fruit. Marcos was professional and is an excellent communicator. On the day of trimming, he and his team took care of my orange tree, cleaning out all the dead wood, and trimming the tree branches 3ft away from the house. Beforehand, Marcos took care to move my potted plants, firewood pit, and an outdoor antenna out of the way, as not to risk damaging any of my property. They also did an excellent job cleaning up afterwards and creating neat piles of the branches for the city to remove. The tree looks great, and I can clearly see the oranges and should have no issue picking them off the tree now. Afterwards, Marcos educated me about some of the other trees in my backyard, recommending how to remove a pesky fig plant and even pruned my small lemon tree at no cost. He knows his trees. I got quotes from 7 different tree removal services to remove 2 queen palms that were starting to grow into utility lines overhead. I ended up choosing to go with Marco's service because of his communication, responsiveness, pricing and ability to do the grinding of the stumps flush to the pavement without needing to remove any of our paver bricks. There were other services that wanted to charge twice as much without even having the equipment to be able to cut or grind the stumps down to flush or below the pavement.
