It has been believe it or not over one year since I engaged with Menehune. My realtor highly recommended them when I asked her for an exterminator service to evaluate why I was finding shavings in my cabinets. The representative came over and took some wood powder samples suspecting powder beetles and said someone would get back to me. I even followed up with 2 phone calls. They said someone would get back to me. No one ever did so I reached out one last time a week or two ago and no reply. I think I was more than patient. Very disappointed and frustrated. read more

I never write reviews. Ever. But the way this company does business has left a terrible taste in my mouth and I just feel like anyone looking for pest management should just be aware. This past December and January, I had MPM come out to treat drywood and subterranean termites at my property. They were very quick to respond when they were getting their money, got the jobs scheduled and did it. That part was fine. I was even told I was covered for 5 years for a retreatment if any termite activity was found! Afterwards, we started renovating the property and nearly everyday my contractors were telling me they were were still finding termite frass and active termite activity. I reached out to Menehune and asked them to honor the terms lf their warranty (why would I even lie to them about this?) They said the owner had to come see it for his own eyes before he would honor the warranty. Its now been nearly 4 weeks, I've called multiple times and sent multiple emails. Owner has never came. Ive emailed them picturee, no tesponse. They obviously have no intention of honoring their warranty. I would recommend any other company, I feel duped and lied too and now have to pay for a retreatment within 4 months of having my house treated extensively by this company under the promise they'd retreat it if this exact situation occurred. After a couple of days with no one calling I contacted them again and was told the guy made his calls on Saturdays, but a few days later after Saturday still no call. After one of the other pest control companies shut down back in 2020, I contacted Menehune Pest Management to get the house tented and fumigated for termites, and the crew did such a wonderful job of getting everything treated and taken care of. Plus, their prices are reasonable and much better than that other pest control company. I also had Menehune come out recently to do an treatment of the ant infestation that I had been experiencing for a few months, and they did both inside and underneath the house. We had Menehune come out and pre-treat the soil before building our post and pier home, so when we had drywood termites that had been brought inside in a kitchen cabinet we called them again. Alex came out and spent 2.5 hours explaining the situation to me and then carefully and systematically treating the termites. Oh man, these guys are the best. On a Friday night we heard scratching, scurrying and squeaking coming from the ceiling and could. not. sleep. At around 1am I used Yelp to request for a quote and within 20 minutes received a response! The very next morning Alex called and gave us the low down on rodents and their parkour skills (FYI: they jump 2.43 metres [8 feet] horizontally 1.2 metres [4 feet] vertical) he doled out tips and suggestions on prevention, areas of interest and what to look for to indicate whether or not they're nesting, curiously exploring or migrating and that was just on the phone. Shortly thereafter he came out to the home to run a perimeter check, double checked all possible access points, jumped up into our attic/crawl space and found a possible entry point. He set a few traps, showed us how to reset them safely, what bait to use (all natural ingredients) and what sounds to keep an ear out for. Additionally, Alex made suggestions about what kinds of material to use to secure weak spots and how to keep them out. A few more sleepless nights later and BOOM! We got one. Sent Alex an update and picture to show the successful catch and he provided more tips on how long to leave them out for just in case there were more. He also provided cleaning and maintenance tips on the traps for future use if needed. So they get 5 stars for their speedy response, great communication, knowledge and willingness to share information. 10/10 recommend. read more

Very friendly responsive office; the techs who came out were knowledgeable, thorough and gave us some great tips! Herwyn was the lead and he and his partner were prompt, identified themselves and presented me with their card; and got right to work. They patiently answered all of our questions and even returned a follow up call I put in to them. Professional dress and demeanor but still very friendly. I hope the need never arises again (we had a mouse that we caught, but wanted to be sure there were no others nesting, etc.) but if we do, Menehune will be the first call we make. I felt their assessment was thorough and honest. They did not charge for the inspection and since there were no signs of other infestation, they did not recommend further action or costs. Actually Menehune Pest Management LLC deserves a TEN! we had our home tented two years ago. Menehune was'nt the cheapest for the most expensive. Jason Sahara the owner came out and gave us a fast firm estimate, and we went with them . Fast forward to 1.5 years, we started noticing termit dust and called Menehune Pest Managament to inspect the dust, they treated the spots several times, but these termites kept making dust. But true to their contract and word, Jason said he would honor the retenting and told us several time he would retent if neccessary. We scheduled the tending for the second time. Jason also stopped by to make sure everything was going right on the day of the tenting. On the day of tenting the crew made sure of checking everything to make sure the seals would be extra sealed. the team were always on time and made sure everything was put back. We believe in locally owned companies and we were impressed by Menehune's highly educated owners and management staff. Office manager Puakaiu'iokalani is amazing. She was pleasant and not simply overselling the quality of her company, but presented Menehune as honest, experienced and responsible. This is so important for families in Hawaii. One concern of ours was the security of our home while it was being tented. Menehune offered two security options. This was awesome as there have been reports throughout Mililani community of daring successful thefts while homes are tented. She arranged an appointment and introduced us to Wayne Pestana who did the evaluation and estimation of the tent fumigation for our home. His experience and expert knowledge of wood destroying pests - drywood termites! and all kinds of crawly creatures and ways to eradicate them was impressive. Trustworthy, knowledgeable and professional are foremost in making a decision to save our home from being eaten! He explained the process, assured us that state and federal safety regulations in the Vikane gas treatment were followed, reviewed the warranty of the Menehune contract, and responsibly answered all questions we had. They were responsive at first, however they couldn't provide me much help of where the mice are entering the house. All they said they could do was put some traps out. We have mice in the walls, which they said they don't do that kind of service and they would try to get me a contact of someone that could help I've tried contacting the tech that came to my house three times and he never responds. My tenant saw a rat climb out of a crawl space so I needed an exterminator fast. I didn't want to set a bunch of inhumane traps that wouldn't solve our problem and was looking for someone that would do exclusion work first. Alex from Menehune contacted me, listened to my concerns, gave me his opinions, and told me he'd do his best to get there the next day and call me with his feedback. After he inspected my apartment, he reported that my tenant had closed off most of the access points already but recommended a different material. He also found an area behind our stove that needed significant drywall work. He even walked the property and gave me his professional opinion on our current deterrence (surprise- it wasn't enough!). I passed that along to the manager as well as the board when he wasn't receptive. After all of that, he didn't charge me. I couldn't believe it. I actually offered to pay something. His services certainly warranted it! I will definitely be calling Menehune for all of my future extermination needs. read more
