We asked for the menu, the response was; "this is our menu" and we were directed to the counter with a smile.
It's a good attitude, when you make something fresh it's not the words but the look of something that makes you determine whether it's appetising and seeing for yourself what the quality is.
This is a wonderful vibrant café with a glass counter running down one side packed with yummy foods, bright and rich colours and plates of freshly made salads, baked aubergines, vegetables, lasagnes and by the counter a separate for cakes, delicious looking ones at that. Cakes and pastries sit in the window, sandwiches by the till, and olives in large bowls by the door.
Opposite the counter is a fridge full of the fresh vegetables they use, at the back tables where you can sit and a piano. Often people sit there with wine playing backgammon.
The vibe is upbeat and eclectic.
You can see the Greek passion for food come out here, it's a feast of smells and tastes. Fresh coffee, juice and extremely friendly staff.
They're a very friendly bunch normally, however on my last visit my order was delayed, so when I paid they gave me a slice of semolina cake to say sorry. Now usually they're very responsive and don't mess the order up, but it's great to see that when something does go wrong (and it was only delayed slightly and I didn't complain), they genuinely want to fix it. That's amazing customer service!
It's not the cheapest, but the food here is extremely well made and it's worth the treat every now and then.
I genuinely love this place, so I think it's worth every penny. I would recommend everything. Haven't had a bad thing yet. read more
