Came in for a beard trim and a double massage. The beard trim was ok, but like almost every other review says, I wanted 19 minutes past my appt time to be taken back. Not a big deal because I wasn't on a tight schedule, but some people are. Now for the $10 Massage: So, umm yeah - wow. Where do we begin? I've wasted my money on many things throughout my young life: $100+ Oakley Sunglasses As seen on TV products Lap Dances $95 Lacoste Polos Mops at state fair Disney World Souvenirs Sports cards, etc.... but nothing was as big of a waste of money as the $10 "massage". NOTHING. This was a complete joke. Now granted, it didnt have any description on the website, but I was guessing it woulda been a 5-10 minute shoulder massage. I made this conclusion based on the standard chair massages that are "hands on" are $1 a minute or so. Well, first off, this wasn't even hands-on. It was a tiny hand held massager. It was a complete joke. The stylist just moved it over your shoulders for about 90 seconds - 2 minutes and was down. If anything, this "service" should be a complimentary add-on, but to charge $10 is ridiculous. It was the most bizarre and complete waste of money ever. I don't know who on earth thought this was a $10 service. I am sure they get plenty of first-time takers, but clearly there will never be a repeat customer of this "service." I was going to say, never ever take this $10 service, but after thinking about it, I think you should, because I want to know your reaction. Watching $10 float away in the wind would bring more satisfaction I think and I want to see if you agree with me! read more

Even tho she was a new face at first, her massage and shampoo along with her cut won me over and I've been going back ever since. Atmosphere is great for adults and kids (my son likes it too and he is 11). Wendy is a master with the straightedge razor too. Neckline, hairline, beard she rocks them all by razor. Best part she is super cool to talk to and listens when she asks you a question. Anything from haircut instructions to what your plans are for the day, she listens and gives an honest open answer...totally refreshing. Previous to going to Men's Hair House in Wauwatosa, I went to another hair stylist for 41 years until she retired the end of December 2022, and NEVER had a bad haircut. I subsequently had to a for new stylist. Many places weren't taking new customers until I came across Men's Hair House in April 2023. The haircut was fairly good, but not as good as my previous stylist. On August 4th 2023, I decided to try Men's Hair House once again. The cut I received was nearly as bad as the one I received when I went into the military. It was nearly shaved on the sides and super short in the back. I wasn't even able to see myself from different angles to get a look at what I was getting. When I got home, my wife thought I was drafted back into the military. Emily sure FAILED at cutting my hair. It took 6 months to grow out, and finally went to a new stylist who really listened to what I wanted. She really took the time and worked with me along the course of the way. I'll definitely will be going back, besides, it's a heck of a lot cheaper. I don't mind paying a higher price, as long as I get a good style. read more

I've always liked this place when I visit the Milwaukee area on business... my "artist" Vicki has to be called that for making me look decent - she does a great job cutting my hair, trimming my beard no clippers as she uses scissors and a great razor on my neck. Readers digest version: this place sucks. I'll elaborate more below. I'll preference this by saying I am not at all one of those guys who's particular or super picky about my hair. I was in town for business and needed my haircut. The shop says it specializes in "haircuts for dudes" ok. Made a appointment and came back the next day. Neither time I was in the shop did I see a male barber. That should of been red flag number one. The actual cut: my haircut is quite simple. A fade with a shaved in part to comb my hair over. The barber cut my hair super low on top and did a terrible job at blending in the fade. I was never asked if the back should be tapered or squared/rounded. I asked for a hard part to be shaved in (meaning a line that you can use to separate the part). After I left I noticed she didn't do it. I'm guessing the barber didn't even know what it is. The whole haircut lasted 15 mins (including the time they took to shampoo my hair and give a 2 min back massage). I was in the military, for $20 I got a haircut that was on par with what you'd get from a military barber who doesn't receive tips or care about anything but getting you out of the barbers chair. The atmosphere: The shop was nice I guess but for this supposedly being a men's barber shop, it had more of a beauty shop vibe. Each booth had a small TV. Unfortunately it was tuned in to "The Bachelorette. Yea ummmm... this is a barbershop, supposed to be a sanctuary for men. I give this place 2 stars only because the barber tried to be friendly and I guess they try to make the experience enjoyable by shampooing your hair and using a hot towel (not really anything must men care about anyhow). This place absolutely sucks. If you want to be treated like a sheep being trimmed for wool on a conveyer belt this may be the place for you, otherwise I would steer clear. There are many barbershops in the same price range in the areas, please go anywhere but here. See below for my qualms with Ali the barber. To summarize briefly, she was very rough with me and rushed the whole experience, showing a complete lack of customer service. 1. Aggressively pushed the trimmers and scissors into my head 2. Trimmed hair as quickly as possible even though the place was virtually empty 3. Sprayed me with COLD water on my hair to start the haircut 4. Having had good experiences with Men's Hair House at other locations, I stopped in here to give it a shot. As I walked in, I was greeted and told to sign in. There was no other waiting customer in the lobby, other than a mother and daughter waiting for her son to finish. I was a walk-in, and the sign clearly says walk-ins welcome. So I wait for 10 minutes, and when the next stylist is done with her client, she rather rudely tells me-"we're not taking walk-ins." Again-NO ONE else in the place. Just a huge waste of time, and a really poorly handled situation. I will not recommend this location to others. read more

Oh man - what. just. happened. I've been a customer of Men's Hair House for years now. I used to frequent the New Berlin location before this place opened up and thankfully, my favorite stylist moved to this Bluemound location. Anyway, I normally book my appointments online but it looks like my stylist is no longer listed on there - I hope she's just on break and didn't quit or get fired..yikes..Maria you rock! So I had to book my appointment with Jen. I walk in at my appointment time, and some new young guy at the desk I hadn't seen before approaches me with a rather cold "you got an appointment?" Huh, normally everyone is much friendlier but whatever. Yes, I have an appointment and I sign in. Jen was prompt and got me pretty soon afterwards and it is all downhill from there. She started asking me what kind of cut I want and how I style it. I tell her and it's like she didn't even listen. She was saying "ok so you want it cut so you can style it THIS way?" and started pushing my hair over to one side. No, Jen, no. I probably had to repeat myself at least 3 times that I style it up and I didn't want much off the top at all. I mainly wanted my sides shorter so she goes, "so like a 2? Let me show you" and started shaving a huge chunk off the side and goes, "how's that?" Well, Jen, it's a little too late now so I just grin and let her proceed. Ok fine, the sides are whatever, but please Jen, I only want a little off the top. *Woosh* She starts hacking away and my whole head is literally the same length hair. There is no way I can style this the way I had described to her. To give you an idea of how rushed I felt, I had an appointment at 4:20 and by the time I got to my car, it was 4:39. That included my check-in, "haircut", and shampoo. I forewent the shoulder "massage" because she already seemed to be checked out. She had no effort to make any conversation with me and I was ready to get out of there ASAP. Another really obnoxious thing was that she was trashing the hair product I use in an effort for me to buy whatever products she was pushing. I told her I just bought a new container and was not interested but she kept pushing it in my face all the way until I paid. Super uncomfortable. I will likely be back because I have had way more positive experiences than bad, but I will stay far away from Jen. Sorry - you just didn't cut it. Ba dum chhh. read more

Unfortunately, this was our first and last visit. Wanted to clean up the shape and not really take much off. My 14-year-old son came in with a full head of hair and came out with a buzz cut with unnatural and uneven long pieces sticking every which way out of the top of his head. Hard to see your 14year-old son so upset that he actually cries. Big swing and a miss, especially considering this major debacle is captured in his high school freshman pic. read more

I arrived 10 minutes early on a Saturday around 1 PM. There were almost no cars/customers, which should have been a clue. I thought maybe I'd be served sooner than my appointment time, but the stylist was 5 minutes late returning from lunch. Hey, my time on the weekend is precious. I'm 58. I'm guessing the stylist was in her early 30's. It was a very cold reception. Throughout I had the general feeling she just wanted to get done with me and get me out of there. That feeling continued through the lackluster shampoo and shoulder massage, which was performed with little skill or vigor. When I got home I realized there was a distinct line above and behind my left ear, where she'd cut straight across and didn't blend it in. I had that fixed elsewhere. Worse cut and experience than a SportsClips kind of place. First time and last time. read more

Had to make an appointment last minute due to an event I had that weekend. I usually go to 18:8, but couldn't get in for an appointment. I figured I'd try this place out, and I will not be returning. They are more concerned with getting people in and out, to the fact they the lady who cut my hair completely screwed it up. I pointed out what I didn't like and she said she would fix it with the style to no avail. My hair was nothing that I asked her to do. It was a generic clipper cut when I asked her to do a scissor cut. I also left with wax all over my eyebrows, which I didn't notice until my wife saw it all on our way out. The entire hair cut the stylist was more concerned with talking to the other stylists, or seeing who was coming through the door. Made an appointment on the phone with an apathetic receptionist and came into an empty salon the next night for my appointment The stylists had no data on me even being in the salon, I've been going there for months, and said my appointment wasn't recorded. They made me show my phone history to prove I called the previous day, and said they couldn't fit me in for my appointment. Again, in an empty salon. I am normally very pleased with mens hair house. I'm not sure what happened, but my preferred stylist left, and they must have hired unskilled hair stylists. I walked in with 2.5 inches of hair on my head, and asked to keep the top as long as possible, but to take the sides down to an eighth inch. Well, I walked out with a buzz cut. completely dissatisfied. If you don't know how to follow the simplest instructions, maybe cutting hair isn't for you, If i wanted a screwed up hair cut, I could have done what you did for free. Good hair cuts, no complaints in that regard. Just attempted to get haircut on Saturday morning; store opens at 8:00am. No one there to open doors when I arrived at 8:15. Stylist stranded in parking lot suggested I come back at 9:00 when the other 'key holder' was scheduled to come in. Needless to say, this will not work for me as I arrived at 8:15 for a reason. No tolerance for businesses that cannot open on time and as posted. Disappointed! read more

Pretty nice place, nothin super special about the cut. Other than being pretty quiet and maybe even boring at times, it was a good experience! The cut looks good and was pretty quickly done. I did have to wait 10 minutes for my appointment despite being the only customer waiting in the store (there was only one other man getting his haircut done). I've been in twice and had 2 different hairdressers. The first experience was ok. The lady was nice. She did the full service, but when the haircut was finished it was completely buzzed and uneven. I had to go to other place to get it fixed. At that time I never wanted to go back. 3 months later I figured I'll go back and try someone else and maybe the first was a fluke. The second time was even worse. I told her to just clean it up and she buzzed it so short I had to wear a hat for a week. It was very uneven. So uneven and short I had to wait a week to get it fixed somewhere else. It took her 5 minutes to buzz it and complete the hair cut. All other places took their time and styled it. They fade the sides nice and even. They take their time. With this place it seemed they had a time limit. I just looked in the mirror with disgust. It's was too late to turn back after she started on the first side. I tried to tell her what she needed to do to fix it and it kept getting worse. Men's hair house is excellent! If you have an appointment you never have to wait more than a few minutes which is nice. The atmosphere is great, as you walk in you're immediately greeted by a friendly team member. Everyone is so nice and considerate! I've been going to men's hair house for about two years now and don't plan on leaving anytime soon, I recommend you give it a shot!
