First of all she was 15 minutes late to cutting my hair which i didn't mind i can wait, i show her what i want to get (1st photo) and she says she doesn't have time for that since she is behind. That is not my fault i paid for this haircut. My sideburns aren't even done and cut straight and she cut off way too much. Pretty happy with this place and their services. Men's haircuts are maybe a little pricier ($28+) than other places, but you get a really good cut and a nice shave of the neck. I don't go here for every haircut (since I get a haircut about every 3 weeks) but now that I'm older I have the dreaded ear hair growth and one of the services of this place is waxing off ear hair for $8. read more

My brother and I have a hard time getting haircuts because we are insanely picky about how our hair looks and how we want it a specific way. After going from barber to barber we eventually met Angela. Now we happily drive 30 minutes out of our way every single time we need a haircut specifically so we can see Angela. She always is able to work with us and customize our hair exactly how we want it, we have left happy and with what we envisioned every single time. She took great care and I ended up with the best haircut I've had in months. After the haircut, I scored a face massage, a hot towel treatment, an eyebrow wax, plus a hair wash and scalp massage. She was able to get him in at the end of the day and took the time to really listen to what he wanted and worked with him through the process making sure he was happy with his look. I never buy products at Barber shops, but they use the product to shave the back of my neck that I liked enough that I actually bought it. read more

I've been going to MUG for a couple of years. Everybody typically does a good job. Over several visits, you will naturally come to prefer one stylist. For me, that's Iris. She does a great haircut, shave, and shampoo. She also listens to what I like and want, and helps give me advice on what looks good (which I need!). I have a nice relaxed time with Iris; I can be myself and joke around too. She's great. My son (18) always sees Nicole. She does a good haircut and shave too, and I always hear them chatting and laughing. My go to place! read more

Consistently cancels appointments last minute. I've had a gift card for a while and they set it up so you can only use the gift card at one location. Every other location I've had no problems, I love MUG. This one continually cancels my appointments last minute. I have a busy schedule and don't live very close. I schedule appointments days in advance and then will get told an hour or two before that they need to reschedule, it's happened multiples times here now. read more

The hair cut was ok. I paid for the ultimate and beard trim. I told the lady to just clean it up and take the hair off with the clippers. In all my time of getting my beard trim I've never seen them uses actually clippers that you would use on my scalp. I got the shampoo done supposed to be a scalp massage didn't happen. I got water drenched on my head and than all on my back. All over my shirt. The seats to the sinks don't move so they are very uncomfortable. It was a very uncomfortable and bad situation. I highly doubt I will return to MUG ever again after this experience. read more

April 4th, arrived as a repeat customer for my second haircut over the past two months. Had 11:00 appointment and arrived on time. Marcey states I must reschedule due to technical difficulties. I have never arrived at any haircut place for an appointment and been told they can no longer honor my appointment time especially after driving all the way here. Will not get my hair cut here again! Not convenient and my day is too busy for poor customer service and rescheduling an already tight schedule. March appt: Opportunity for improvement: Provide complementary coffee like your competition does. I look good but after Marcey cuts my hair, I look better than good. Arrived at 1:00 for my 1:00 appt and was in the haircut chair by 1:00 ! The walk in line is posted on a TV so you can see who is next and who follows. Out by 1:30. read more

1st time here for haircut (sorely needed) and shave. I was a walk in and had a short wait, I was fortunate to get Kelsey from Cleveland as my stylist. I am not a newby to haircuts and shaves, both are a challenge to any stylist. Wavey hair that has to be cut just right and a cleft chin that many a barber has walked away from. Had them alter my tip amount on the receipt after paying with my card as well as stop honoring their coupons. I'm really not much of a complainer, but I just moved to the area and was excited to try MUG out. I've always gone to Sport Clips but always felt they were lacking. After looking at MUG's website and reading the positive reviews and the fact they take appointments, I had my hopes up that someone had come along and was offering the services, atmosphere and convenience others weren't. I went to the Chandler MUG website and booked an appointment (about 45 mins in advance). Deficiency #1 of others, I like a place where you can call ahead and not have to wait. So I book the appointment with Tanya as she was mentioned most favorably by several reviewers. I arrived at MUG at the time of my appointment and went in. I was greeted by another stylist and I told her I had an appointment. She looked lost and asked me how I booked it. I told her online. She then told me she didn't see the appointment and that there was already another guy waiting for Tanya and I'd have to wait till he was done. He was still in the waiting area and hadn't been called back yet. Other guys were waiting as well. Unfortunately I had plans for the evening and didn't have time to wait around. The stylist asked me if I'd like to make another appointment for tomorrow. I thanked her but left, drove down the road to another Men's Hair Cut place and was in and out in 30 mins. A lower rating wouldn't be fair because I didn't get a haircut at MUG. But the three stars is reflective of my first impression that was a let down. read more
