Had haircut today and Maria spent less than 10 min on my haircut. For sure one of worst haircuts I have had in long time. Requested mid fade but got no fade and no blending, requested fingers length on top but got cleaned up. $35 I mean come on, I know it is standard those days but at least do better job. The place seems nice and maybe some of the barbers are talented but the one that works at the third chair (far back) right side when you come into the shop has no clue on how to do a basic fade. I had the most unpleasant experience at V's barber shop. First my barber Esli seemed either high as a kite or so exhausted she could barely keep her eyes open. Not the vibe you want from someone about to wield sharp objects around your head. Throughout her portion of my haircut Esli was dropping tools and items all over the place like a clumsy toddler. After a lot of uneven and sloppy cuts throughout my hair she managed to nick my ear, drawing blood and causing me pain. After that I requested a new barber where I got Maria thankfully she demonstrated competence and provided a good haircut. Since moving to Gilbert from Scottsdale in November 2021, I have discovered the best barbershop ever! Abraham crushed it! He was very friendly, knowledgeable and engaging. Abraham recommended subtle changes in the way I will be trimming by beard moving forward. The best cut, & deluxe beard trim I have ever experienced! The pics don't begin to do this place justice. So now that school is back in session (at least for my kids) we decided to wait until the day before to get my sons hair cut...and I decided it was time for me as well. We'd been to V's before a while ago but had tried a few other barbers in between looking for a place and a person we could go back to regularly. Called to see what the walk in times were at about 11:30am and was told if we wanted we could make a same day reservation for 3:15 which would be perfect. Picked my daughter up and had her drive us here for our appointment. When we walked in 15 min early, they were ready for us and not booked - which is fantastic. My son got Joe and I got Maria. Typically with barbers this is a relationship business and talk / conversation is appreciated. Joe was nice and he took an ample amount of time working with my son to make sure his line and his style were cared for. Maria was a gem! Super nice and professional. She carried on a great conversation with me about our families, challenges of teenagers, struggle as parents etc....and she did a great job on my hair while doing all that. Great place to come, super clean and they gave my daughter a soda while she as just waiting for us to finish. We had a great experience and we will certainly be back! read more

When I got in, I was greeted appropriately and wasted no time. My barber, Esli, took the time to listen to my wants and concerns regarding my hair and walked me through the options and how it could look. She offered polite and engaging conversation to the right amount and showed me all the angles right for my hair. This is by far the best spot in Arizona. Omar is incredible. I made the mistake to get my haircut outside of V's yesterday just to try and save a trip to Gilbert, and I paid the price dearly! I had to scramble and called Omar and begged for a sport to help clean up the mess another barber made, thankfully he had one open time today. I'm flying out tomorrow to meet my father and sister for the first time so this hair cut is one of the most important ones in my lifetime. Thank you Omar and V's for taking care of me. I've been here for 3 haircuts; they only got 2 of them correct. Be sure to tell Elias M. *EXACTLY* what you want, show him and then ask him if he understands. He just shaved my head - I asked for a trim. Wow. I asked for a trim around the sides and even showed the barber, Elias M., how long I wanted my hair. (Using my fingers it looked about 1/4 inch). He shaved off all of my hair! I let him know immediately that he wasn't giving me the hair cut I asked for and he then said, "Oh, sorry, I guess we both got it wrong". WTF!?!?
