Got a haircut here last night 12/29/23 7:15pm. Worst haircut I have ever had. Other veterans out there would understand this statement "I'd rather get a haircut at the PX than to come back here again". Still tipped and paid $40 down the drain. Hair grows back whatever. Safe to say I'll still be keeping a hat on for new years til it grows back. Use them if you like but here's an honest review fellas I won't be returning. only one person in the location. had to wait while she finished with a childs cut. once I sat down I explained 1 on the sides blended into the top and about half inch off the top. I've never had a haircut where they didn't spray my hair with water to judge length. she basically used slippers and trimmed my hair the way I had combed it. not length checking, again, no water. her name is Rebecca. she was more concerned of her Alexa speaker than anything. then she started talking about Biden and Trump. at this point I just wanted to leave so I said my hair looked fine and left. it has grown in all uneven. I have job interviews and now have to worry about a new cut. DONT GO HERE. read more

Why oh why, do I subject my son to this nonsense. We were in the area and he needed a haircut. Once again, big mistake. I have now learned that they have no skill and zero customer care. The kid cutting my sons hair took a big piece out of the side of his head. And didn't even try to correct it. The manager won't issue a refund unless I come in, what are you going to do? Glue it back on? There are many other places to go, please don't go here. It's a waste if your hard earned money, my opinion. read more

Professional, clean, and following all of the appropriate safety procedures. Not crowded at all. Walked-in without an appointment and was promptly greeted. After 4 months or so without a cut, the mop on my head was enthusiastically welcomed by Barbetologist Kailee. This was my first haircut & introduction to Natalie. I typically like to go to someone I have already had the experience of getting a haircut from, but I was lucky to get Natalie. She just moved here from out of state, and you'll discover, as I did, that she brought with her a super fun & charismatic personality... along with mad skills which I have not yet experienced anywhere else (using a razor). Walked in today to get my sons haircut, and they were not accommodating at all. The receptionist/ stylist said that they had "an" appt booked at 2, and couldn't take him, but there were 2 other stylist just standing around. Perhaps one of them could have taken him????? Probably so.... I asked if all 3 of them had spots at 2, she looked confused and said yes. What are the Certainly will not be returning. Ever. No thanks. But at the M.U.G. On Val Vista and Williams Field there is one stylist who knows what she's doing. McKenzie. Not only did she showcase her hair expertise in the haircut I got... but she also showcased her hair care knowledge in talking about how the style works. She took one look at that Pinterest picture I had and said "Yasss hunty I know what I'm doing!" Okay... so maybe not exactly those words. Overall every single aspect of my visit was perfect. From the friendly greeting at the door and the zero wait time to the very casual conversation we had while she was doing my hair. I'm from Chicago, I've been to some of the best barbers- from the Northwest side to the South side. That being said, I can say for certain, Jaycie knows her stuff. She does it all; from fades to trims, to freaking ear/nose waxing-if that's your thing. What's the difference between her style of cutting hair and 95% of the other barbers back home? Patience, focus, and a passion for getting the job done right. Jaycie is a down to earth professional barber that knows her trade better than any bro that cut my hair before. If you need some haircare products they also have a bunch of haircare and other relevant products on-site. This is a confident recommendation, so if you're in the area and need a sick fade, take my word for it and book an appointment through their site (which is beyond simple to do) and look fresh again! Today, I called to make appointments with the intention of giving them another chance. My youngest boy really likes the haircuts he has gotten and I planned to talk to the manager to make sure that what happened with my older boy as noted in my previous review did not happen again. The manager I usually work with was already gone for the day. I asked who the manager on duty was and learned that the very person who was rude to me and messed up my sons haircut last time is now the manager. It is good to know that bad service is rewarded and reinforced with promotion and increased responsibility. Sorry - Second chance blown. So one of the managers contacted me to try to make things right and I was willing to give them another chance because she was so nice. We made appointments but the appointments ended up being canceled due to the closure of salons as a result of the pandemic. Of course, no problem. This past week, I received a phone call to schedule appointments since they were opening back up. I was working at the time and they left a message asking me to call back. I called back twice. Left messages both Times and did not hear back. Today, I called for a third time. Someone answered the phone and I endeavored to make appointments. My husband and both sons all need haircuts and schedule together. They seem to know that when they left the original message. However, when I called back today, the availability is split and extremely limited to none at all. Considering the history and the fact that they reached out to me to reschedule it is troubling that they are now not available even though I responded to the initial message quickly and followed up again after no phone call. read more

Word of Warning: Don't be late even if they tell you it's ok over the phone! I usually have a great experience here but just today I was late to my scheduled appointment. I knew I would likely have to rebook or find a different location as they couldn't squeeze me in so I called the establishment to let them know and see what was possible. I spoke with Gina on the phone who told me it would need to be rebooked but I told her, calmly and without attitude mind you, that I need to get in somewhere today unfortunately. She said come on in and they can squeeze me in between appointments. I drove 45 minutes from work to the location and as soon as I get there they tell me there is a 5 minute late policy where they can't take me today and would have to be rescheduled, I was 15 minutes late. I told her what Gina told me which was why I headed here anyway and she didn't care and said store policy, doesn't matter what someone from the store told you on the phone. Meanwhile 2 stylists were in the salon and not a single customer. I explained I left work to get here with the understanding I would be squeezed in even if I had to wait or I wouldn't have came at all. Not a single care and she pushed me off. I have been a long time customer here but now it's time to fine a new establishment. My caution to you all would be don't be late by 5 minutes or more, they won't care even if they tell you otherwise on the phone. read more

MUG absolutely delivered, and I could not be more satisfied and impressed by the entire experience and the service I received. Appointments can be made online, and I booked with Brianna, who gave me a perfect haircut. Exactly what I was looking for. She is incredibly warm and personable, and really took her time to give a thorough cut (completely scissor-cut as I requested) that would meet my expectations. I have been using a different mens hair shop in 2018. I was happy with the service and the cut, buy my wife thought I could do better and suggested I try a new place. Through web search, including Yelp, I came across MUG. The reviews were good, so I booked an appointment. When I met my stylist, I told her that it had been 7 weeks since my last cut, because I wanted to start wearing my hair a bit longer. She said, fine, she would give me a scissors cut. Well, she trimmed it up and I had thought she was also layering the hair, but she did not. I should have said something and been a bit more critical, so the fact that I left the shop looking like I did is on me. My wife, when I got home, could not believe how bad the cut was. I am sure MUG does a great job for the majority of their clients. I happen to pick someone who had a lot of openings...which, now that I think about it, probably means she was new. My bad. I know you have to get experience but I guess I should not book with a new person (everyone else was busy). read more
