We came to try them on and my father Sue was two times too small both shirt, jacket and vest and they tried to say that nobody buttoned the actual suit jacket. My fiancé's suit the pants were too long. The jacket was too long. The shirt did not fit. They had the wrong color tie and the wrong shoes. If you're looking for service this is not the store for you. This is my second visit here and it was equally bad. There's usually one employee working and three standing around socializing. Both times there was never a greeting upon entering the store, nor anyone asking if they could be of assistance. If you're lucky you might get a good sale, but it will be up to you to find your sizes or you'll have to interrupt someone on their insta to ask if your size is in the back. read more

I just had to post a review about the experience myfamily and I had at the Men's Warehouse in the Bay Terrace shopping center. It was one of exceptional service and great helpfulness all around. We went in need of suits for a family wedding and a prom tux rental. Mohammad was absolutely amazing. He was able to measure my son to perfection by eye!! He didn't even need the measurement tape! The expertise was absolute next level. I have never encountered that accuracy before. Very impressive. He gave great advice and helped us throughout the entire process, taking time with us to make sure that we were satisfied. We also had the help of Joe during another visit. I have been very eager to write this review... I truly don't know where to start. Forgive me, I know this is going to be harsh. But that's how bad my experience here was. The groomsmen in my wedding party live all over, so I opted to go with Men's Wearhouse since we can return the suits at any location. Without looking at any of these reviews, we went to this location first for convenience and originated our group number here. Francesco was the first person that 'helped' us out. Petty notice was that I repeated the spellings of each name to Francesco three times and somehow he still made typography errors in multiple locations. Just shows that he is not careful and thorough with simple stuff like data entry... Considering that this is my first time ever renting with them... I had many clarifying questions on their process so that the coast is clear and we are well prepared for pickup day. My main concerns were that 1) I want to ensure that none of our groomsmen were charged for anything and that we would take care of it as this is a part of our gift to them and 2) all suits will be picked up at x location in a different state. He pulled over his superior (a lady, never caught her name, but she never smiles) to help put this properly in the system. When I explained to her that we want to make sure no one else is charged for anything and all suits will be picked up at x location, she condescendingly said "it is written in the notes, so if a person could read, then they will know." Side note- this is because each groomsman is getting fitted at different locations. Maybe it was because of my many questions that she made a comment, "weddings are a stressful time for the bride." I actually wasn't stressed at all and only needed clarity because I don't know how their system works. This is called communication... so that both parties can be on the same page for understanding. We wanted to pay up front for everything, but wasn't able to pay the taxes since the suits were being picked up in another state. They then explained that the taxes couldn't generate until the guests come in for their first fitting. We're like ok- so I explained to our wedding party the situation and notified them that they shouldn't be charged. About a week later, two people of our party got fitted and the same lady was the one that assisted us. I know she recognized me immediately and as we were going forward with the fittings, she even asked "are these suits getting picked up here?" Just saying... she contradicted her own comment about workers being able to read. Fast forward to the fittings... three members of our party got charged. It was a measly 20ish dollars each for the taxes, but I was just annoyed because of the principle. We would not have complained if the workers had addressed to us that they could ensure our guests didn't need to pay. All you have to do is say what the realistic situation is, and we'd understand. Not fall under these false promises because everything has been inconsistent. About a month before our wedding, one of our groomsmen notified us that he wasn't able to take off work, so he had to opt out. So I called in and asked if I was able to get refunded for that one suit. The worker that helped me said give it a few days and the money will be returned to you with the card on file. I gave it a week and called in again to check in- a female worker picked up, I explained to her that I called once before already, then she scoffed and said it should be going through. It didn't. By then, I was busy doing wedding stuff, that I didn't get a chance to follow up on this matter. Until the week of our wedding when we were picking up (in a separate location), I followed up on the refund with that worker and he was so quick to look into this and had this settled for me. It literally took a simple phone call to the originating location to get this done- not sure why my previous two calls went nowhere for something so simple. I went in a final time to this location to pay off the balance and Frank helped me. I can say that he is the only competent person here... very friendly, forward, and definitely gave me a much better experience than with anyone else here. My overall take- I have no complaints with Men's Wearhouse, just only this location. The other locations I've been to have been so seamless! I have to comment that customer service jobs aren't for everyone and some workers here are a prime example of that. The process with this location has just been annoying- a simple task should not have been made more complicated, but this location's workers has found a way to do so. Definitely check out their reviews before deciding to step foot in here... I made the mistake of not doing so. Extremely clean and neat store. My son is part of a wedding party and it was the easiest and most pleasant experience. Omar assisted us and we appreciated him so much that we came back to rent a tux for my husband too! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. We walked in here and were told we needed an appointment because they were understaffed. Mind you, I had all of the style numbers of what I wanted for my cousin, I just needed the items in his size. I told the sales associate that we had went to the Valley Stream location a month ago and didn't need an appointment and that we thought it was the same here. This is NOT the place to rent Tuxedos for any event. Suits are cheap, tailoring subpar and prices are ridiculous!! Manager was nasty to my son in law and accused him of owing hiM money. When he realized he was wrong he didn't even apologize. The suits make thin men look fat!! My son's Pants legs were two different lengths, my husbands pants looked like a Dress because the suit pants are adjustable six sixes!! They told him he needed slim fit but they had none left. We rented suits two months before wedding!! I had to purchase a tux for him And it was Almost the same Cost as rental! The shirts wrinkle in a slow Breeze! The grooms Father got A kids tie!! After telling a groomsman for my June 10th wedding his tux would be ready June 8th, they said they were "too busy" and it would be ready the 9th. Due to having to head to NJ for the rehearsal, they did not take the time to open the garment bag. On June 10th it was revealed that they gave him a dirty shirt, Medium tux instead of XL, and a red vest and tie instead of silver. When called, they said it was "not their problem" rather than apologize like any decent business would for THEIR screw up. They offered no compensation or seemed remotely remorseful. I am not an unreasonable retail consumer, but incident and the behavior that followed was completely unacceptable. read more

This place SUCKED. However, there were two people in this insane asylum of employees who were helpful and when asked to try on another size jacket, shirt, etc did NOT tell me NO! They told me, YES. I'm normally not a push-over, but it just got so uncomfortable here that we left with a bill of close to $400. How that happened, when we originally went in for a $99 special is beyond me. This review is actually for three MW locations. The one located in Plainview off of S. Oyster Bay Road , the one Old Country Rd. and this one located in Bay Terrace. Yes. All they deserve is ONE star since its the MINIMUM I can give =T And this is why... I am the MOH and the sister of the future bride so I accompanied the groomsmen to their final fitting and to pick up of their rental tuxs JUST to make sure things will go smoothly. She opted fuschia for the groom and amethyst for the wedding party :) Unfortunately, the term "smoothly" can't even begin to describe the stressful and frustrating time that we spent there. So first off... My significant other and I went to the Plainview location to get him measured for an almost "perfect" fitted suit (sometime in April) and the staff were courteous and quite attentive. Definitely no complaints that day ! We definitely knew it wasn't going to be an absolute PERFECT fit but hey, if its close its fine. Today, I went to go pick up the tux and brought it home. The staff today.. weren't very helpful. The male that was helping me picked up a personal phone call on his CELL phone as he was helping me! So rude. Anyways.. I brought the tux home and thank goodness he tried it on because his button down shirt was SO big it made him look like a flying squirrel and the jacket was SO big it made him look like a box. What was the point of taking measurements??? I was so disappointed but thought... It's okay we'll just visit the one in Bay Terrace (where the store manager was the one who placed most of the ordered tuxs) since its closer so they could fix it. Sounds easy right? NOPE. there's more... Upon arriving with my significant other and the groom, we ran into the best man and our cousin! So what was the issue with theirs you might ask? They gave the the best man a black tie and vest. (if you reference above, its suppose to be amethyst). They gave the groom a amethyst tie and vest when it was suppose to be fuschia. They re-measured my significant other and realized they measured incorrectly and got him a new shirt . Great news right? But no. Because the shirt that they replaced his original shirt with was taken from the GROOMS order and they didn't even realize until it was time for the groom to try his tux on! How do you not realize that we're all in the same party and if you take one shirt to give to another you're going to have to find another one to replace the one you took in the first place?!?!?!?!?!? WE ALL HAVE THE SAME LAST NAME YOU NUMB NUT Our cousins pants were too long so we had to wait for it to be sewn and my significant others jacket? They didn't have "in stock" so we have to pick it up Friday, the day BEFORE the wedding. We have more important things to worry about. More crucial last minute planning. We shouldn't have to be stressed about people not being able to follow orders that are written down MONTHS ahead of time and making sure you guys can MATCH COLORS. REALLY?!!? you guys need to go through training again. fuschia is fuschia. amethyst is amethyst. BLACK IS BLACK. My nephew is 3 and can do a better job and judge what colors MATCH. Oh but wait there's more. About..20 minutes away at the Old Country Rd location my sister brought my nephew and his grandfather to pick up their tux's. And what's wrong with it? The colors don't even freaking MATCH with what we ordered and my nephews (who i call "Little man" ) shirt looked like a DRESS on him!!!!! UGH! MENS WEARHOUSE, You need to get your sht together. The Manager at the Bay Terrace one.... How is she a manager? You guys must have low standards for customer service. I would NEVER EVER recommend your services to ANYONE. Not family , not friends.. First of all nothing here is cheap. Don't expect to walk in looking for a $30 dress shirt or a $25 tie, go to TJ Maxx for that. I agree with Annie H's assessment of this place. They oversell you as much as they can. If you know your size, know what you want and an aggressive bargainer then you'll do just fine here. Otherwise just say, "no!" to everything else they try to sell you and be firm about it. I brought my 16 year old cousin here to buy his first suit. Told them he's only got about $250, all we need is a suit. At first the guy said, "yeah we have $199 suit here." which is pretty cool, then he started piling in dress shirts, ties, belt, shoes, we were looking at $450-$500 here. What part of, "I've got $250." did he miss? I had to pull my cousin aside and tell him he's being upsold and to say, "no" to everything except the tie. At the end of it all, we ended up paying almost $300. Had the suit altered and bought a $50 non-designer tie. It was not a pleasant shopping experience, I don't plan to come back. ************************************************ I don't want to sound totally ungrateful, There is a plus side to all this. we showed up at 6:45pm, needed a suit for the next day. Wow sooo many negative reviews. Its not that much of a nightmare I assure you. Like everyone else I came here for the tux/suit rental, because the grooms party are required to wear matching Vera Wang 1300 super threaded jackets complete with pocket silks and cummerbunds. I think I have enough immaculate suits... so... pulling 210 for a one day rental made my heart bleed a bit. Just a bit. For the cash you're throwing at them, you get to keep the socks and pocket silk. Joy. The people are very nice and friendly. The one thing is they don't know suits / fits as well as they should. I got measured but the suit still came with the buttons too tight, which made a stretch mark across the waist panel - a BIG nono. Fashionista looking guy with ruler around the neck just stood and nodded and asked if I felt ok in the suit. I pointed out the problematic areas. "Well, this is a slim fit so..." Well, I'm sorry. Too bad the wedding is in a week and I have no time to eat healthy. I asked to try out other fits and the guy was pretty accomodating, but each time extremely impartial. I would have preferred him to be more straight forward and called me fat. But then thats not everyone's cup of cake*... so I forgive him. I sent the suit back to have it altered. The suit came back in 2 days as promised and the alterations were perfect. It's not exactly tailored fit but its close enough. In summary, the people were nice and friendly but do not provide straightforward feedback during fitting. If you are like me who prefer extra eyes to validate a fit of a suit, then I recommend bringing a friend with you. * cake is better than tea. HIGHLY disappointed. This was my first time at a Men's Wearhouse outside of returning a suit/tux for someone. My fiancee and I walked in to setup Tux rentals for our Wedding Party. The staff was friendly. Suit quality was OK. What surprised me was that they do not allow people to try anything on. I understand they will tailor the rental to you but how to you know if you even want that suit/tux if they do not let you try it on? We eyed the new dark grey Vera Wang Tux for the Groom and CK's lighter grey Tux for the Groomsmen. We asked if we could try on the Tux to see how it looks. They said they had no samples. We asked if any other Mens Wearhouse carried samples on that Tux, he said no. I would NEVER buy NOR rent a Wedding gown without trying it on first. The same should apply for the Groom. They had a Tux in store on a dummy. You can't just take the jacket off and let us try it on? Really? This on top of them spelling my first name wrong and a few people in the wedding party's name wrong altogether made for a poor experience. read more

I have been searching for the right blazers for a long time, primarily due to either not too my taste or high prices from various name brands companies. The search ended at Men's Warehouse. The gentleman that assisted me is Guy. With no sales pitch or pressure, he directed me to the section of my size ,allowed me to decide what I saw to my liking, and presented me with a pricing that was a no brainer to move forward with. This is my 2nd time visiting men's warehouse, first time was about a year ago when I got married and my bridal party rented the Vera Wang black tux. At that time we went to the store located in Green Acres Mall, thats another review and not so positive one but leave that out. My brother it's getting married and being that I am the best man I needed to rent a tuxedo to the liking of both my brother and soon to be sister in law. We chose the same tux as last time but this time in gray, $200 and change for the rental, material wise its not the best but to the store its the best tux they have at the moment. When you enter the store you have the old timers hanging around, not sure if they are the owners or tailors but they don't have the courtesy to greet you, all 3 times I went they just looked at us as if we were suppose to acknowledge them and not the other way around. Other workers are really meh, non friendly or accommodating. However one of the guys helping me today, don't remember his name but he has sort of a Will.I.Am vibe was pretty cool, he helped and made sure fitting was to my liking, you the real MVP sir. Unless i need to rent another tux in the future you probably wont see me step foot into any men's warehouse, I could easily buy a suit for the rental price range in same material elsewhere. read more

My husband was recently in a wedding and the B & G chose to use Men's Wearhouse for their tuxedos. When he initially was told how much the tuxedo was, we were floored. $290 to RENT! Extremely overpriced and unnecessary. The tuxedos were very similar to the ones we had for our wedding that were almost half the price. The tuxedos were Vera Wang, so I suppose we were paying for the fact that it was a name brand and the chain. The girl who measured him seemed extremely inadequately qualified. When my Husband tried on the size they had in-store it was HUGE. The waist was practically falling off of him and the hemline was dragging on the floor but the girl insisted that the pants would adjust and she would keep him with that size. Fast forward a couple months when he goes to pick up the tux and it was completely wrong. The supposed adjustable pants were still huge on him and the girl insisted whoever measured him did it wrong while he very politely told the girl it was her that had measured him. They also scolded him for not going on the pickup day they had emailed him which was two days prior. He had never received an email and upon further investigation they realized they never sent it to them. My husband told them that the wedding was Friday and he needed it by the next day (Thursday) but they said that was impossible. Thankfully, he did get the tux on Friday morning and it seemed to fit well but the hassle for the price was so unnecessary. On a side note--the shirts for the tuxes seemed incredibly thick for a May wedding, the poor guys were dying the whole night! I would definitely avoid this chain and give your money to a small business who will actually care about giving you a quality experience! read more

I would give this place zero stars, even negative stars. Months ago, my soon to be wife and I went here to look into suits for the gentlemen in our wedding party. When someone eventually came to help us, you can see he had no desire to be helpful. He was not part of the "rental department" but we were hoping he could give us some idea of how the process went since we had never had to get suits before. Being that is is a wedding for two women, there is clearly no groom. However, he kept referring to "the groom" in a snarky manner fully knowing that there would be no groom. When someone came to help us in the rental department, the previous person who was "helping" us was standing right behind us while smirking and chuckling to himself. This obviously put us off and we had no desire to get our suits from here. As we left, our super friendly employe gave us not even a goodbye or a wave...just still there smirking. This time like all other times we have come in here before, they have not been inviting to us. But this was the worst and most homophobic occurrence while at this Men's Warehouse. We did contact MW via their website and put in a complaint. Not surprisingly, we never heard back from them...not even an apology. Thankfully we found a small place out on Long Island that was welcoming and made no issue that no groom was present. read more

We had intended to rent tuxes here for the groom's party because we have a few out of state groomsmen. It would've been nice and easy to set up a package that can be accessed from any Men's Wearhouse. We first came here a few weeks ago just to get an understanding of how the process works, and then we revisited when we had a better idea of what we wanted. I was really dissatisfied with their attitude and service. The person helping us was borderline rude. You could tell she didn't give two craps and just wanted to get it over with. Their swatches were also dirty. We made a pretty much instant decision to go with a local tux rental shop who we felt would take care of us. We liked how we could see how everything would look like (on a mannequin, but so much better than just looking at swatches), and we appreciated that we were treated like people... not a waste of your time. read more

This place gets a 1 star due to their poor excuse of what they consider customer service, because for my older brother's wedding I go in to get fitted for the suit I'd be wearing. That experience was pleasant and i have no complaints. The man told us to pick up out suits the day before the event although the receipt stated 2days before the event. When i get my suit, everything except my jacket fit perfectly. Now I'm not talking a little off, this jacket was 4inches away from my wrist, probably about halfway to my elbow just by bending my arm at a 90° angle. Sad part is I'm not exaggerating. So when my brother(the groom) calls to ask if we can bring it in to get altered, because this clearly is not an acceptable length for a suit jacket, especially for a groomsman at a wedding; they say there's nothing they can do, "you should have came the day before" is the response the groom got. Customer service is terrible. Even worse is I went to a Men's Warehouse by the wedding venue in NJ and they happily measured me and altered it on the spot for me. This place is really bad and from what I've seen around the Internet, Men's Wearhouse is just not a good store in general. I brought my dad here to get measured for a custom dress shirt and I thought the staff knew what they were doing but all they did was measure his neck and sleeve length. Fast forward to two weeks later (they never called me to tell me the shirt was ready by the way), we go in to pick up the shirt and when my dad tries it on, the thing is way too big. The sales woman who was handling our order told us that they measure the neck and sleeves first to draft a shirt and then they take further measurements to make more alterations. That makes no sense at all. I don't think these people know what they're doing. They just stand around in expensive clothes and have this aggressive/assertive attitude to try to make sales (That's the American way I guess). Don't come here, look for the mom-and-pop formal wear stores. They'll pay more attention to their customers and will probably have a better idea of what they're doing. read more

It's so frustrating to plan a wedding with these people!!! Day after day I have issues. The day we reserved, all was great. I have a large bridal party and we chose the same outfit for 10 groomsmen. I left it that our fathers could choose their own. My first groomsmen goes, and he's treated with such rudeness. Second groomsmen, same. My dad goes, they tell him he cannot pick his own tuxedo (though this was specially discussed with the sales associate named Angela- the one who "helped" through all of this. I actually called the store to complain that everyone of my groomsmen are upset. They told me it was untrue. Fast forward to this past Sunday. My future hubs picked up his tux a few days ago. A few groomsmen also went. I also log on to their portal-thing on Sunday. It shows TWO of ten groomsmen with bow ties and the rest with regular ties. Huh?! I call the store and ask them to correct this. I'm told by Angela they're not charging me for the change. WHAT CHANGE?! Your error??? It was such a debacle to have this corrected. Today I call the store and they're insisting my groomsmen WILL be charged a late fee for returning Monday. I'm explaining that is NOT what you put in writing. Blah blah, it gets fixed. My paperwork from several months ago shows rerun date of Monday, and everyone's being told Sunday. This takes another few calls to rectify. Another groomsmen went yesterday because he received an email that his tux is ready. Arrives... the tux is at least (and I'm being so modest) one size too big. My father receives an email, and then gets there for them to say his tux isn't in?! DO NOT BOTHER WITH THIS STORE! They are unprofessional, rude, and do not care at all for their customers. I truly hate that it's 4 days till my wedding and I already hate them. read more

My Sales Person Ramy and the tailor Errol were the go to guys. They not only helped us choose an amazing tux they negotiated and worked out pricing and made tailor services affordable as well. He's always been fair, my comment is specifically in reference to the guys at the front counter, being and publicly pleading for costumers but when tasked with finding me sampler cologne nothing. read more

Surprised to see negative reviews here. I used this Men's Wearhouse for my wedding just recently and once before. Both times I felt very welcomed and as if the employees actually wanted to help. I had went to the Atlantic terminal location because it was closer to my apartment but the employees seemed unwelcoming and I wanted their blue slim fit tux but they said I couldn't try it on because they don't have it. This could of been true but there was no attempt to order for a later try on or anything like that. I headed over to this location as I had been there before and was met by employees that could at least pretend that they wanted the best for you. They had my tux to try on and everything went just as you would expect it to. Come wedding day everything fit perfectly. Not sure what else you could ask for in a rental place. read more

The initial experience was not good at all. Beware of salesman Jay Shulman who will purposely pick a larger suit for you just so you would have to pay more for alterations. He didn't listen when we asked for a certain shade and decided to pick a suit that he liked. He was extremely pushy and rude. I didn't want my husband to buy the suit just to spite Jay Shulman since he gets commission. The alteration man was kind enough to pick a suit that fit my husband. What does that tell you? Jay Shulman doesn't care and lost trust in us as soon as he picked a larger suit in a different shade. We will not be returning to Men's Warehouse ever again. Ronnie and the alteration man were extremely pleasant and I feel bad that they are associated with Jay Shulman. read more

I think the majority of people who wrote bad reviews on this location had bad experiences. Well I on one had had a Great experience. I stopped by this location to get fitted for a tux as well as buy a suit and the process was quick and painless. Although they are a little pricey , i was given a 50% off coupon after being fitted which i used for my suit. The also have great deals on stuff too. All in all this is a service store and the salesmen and saleswomen are there to assist you. read more

I went to check out some suits for a wedding I am planning to attend as a guest. I looked at about 6 suit tops and the range of the price was $495 to $795 just for the suit jacket, never mind the pants! I didn't see any mark downs for any of these price tags. Wasn't this chain started in the beginning to be an affordable alternative to over priced full retail department stores? Now the prices seem higher than department stores. I just walked out the store shaking my head. I ended up buying a suit from JC Penney online for a fraction of the cost of a Mens Wearhouse suit. read more
