In the preliminary stages of my wedding planning, I made an appointment to get a general understanding of what I am looking for in a dress. I made an appointment online and when I arrived, the receptionist could not find me in the system. Eventually she did, but only after making it very obvious that she had no idea why I was there. She also kept asking me questions about a date (which I didn't have yet) pressing the answer when I told her I didn't have one. After waiting for a bit, I was paired with Fatima who was so sweet and helpful. I really liked working with her and I saw that she also helped another bride who thanked her and you could tell the connection was there. She just seemed genuinely kind and good at her job. I wasn't expecting a 5 star approach at DB, but the consultant was fantastic and the store was well organized. One star off was for the very unprofessional front desk person, but other than that I recommend anyone unsure if where to start with wedding dress shopping stop in. read more

The sales team at the register were unbelievably rude! customer services was the worst I have ever experienced in my life! All I can say is AVOID!! Do not shop at David's Bridal! They lie about diciunts they do not have and got us to purchase dresses then to find out that there were no discounts!! The sale team lied!! my daughters wedding dress ended up costing $1600 with all the add ons! she thought about how badly we were treated and returned the dress weighing 5 days because we live in queens and had to drive to NJ! The team here is extraordinary. I booked an appointment desperate to find my second dress for my wedding NEXT week. Christine, Luis and Kathy were amazing, words can not explain how thankful I am. Luis helped me grabbed a slit because the dress was a bit see through, Kathy came to my rescue and is able to alter my dress within one week and Christine has such a keen eye to make suggestions on how to enhance the dress with tiny changes. No future bride should be treated like I was at this location. Seriously, spend your money elsewhere. You deserve better. I bought a dress on the David's Bridal website and it was too big. A customer service agent made an appointment for me to go in and have it altered. My mom came from out of town just to come with me. I got several email reminders about my upcoming appointment. Yet, I got there & they had absolutely no record of it. They took me as a walk-in and treated me like a nuisance. I asked 3 different employees to help me with the train since it was an elaborate design and I'd had trouble getting it to look like the website. No one helped me with my request and they kept saying my dress was not a David's Bridal dress. I told them it was but they said they'd never seen it before. I finally started my fitting and asked the tailor to show me how to properly spread out the train. She said OK then proceeded pin it up short, into a bustle that I did not ask for. She also snapped at me several times during the fitting. Here's the kicker... they tried to charge me an extra $100 for altering the dress because again, they said it was not a David's Bridal dress. We cleared that up, I paid and left. But I was so upset afterwards that I went back and insisted they show me how to properly arrange the dress. They were NOT NICE about it. WASTE OF TIME and POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. This was actually the first DB location we visited because it was midway for everyone in my bridal party. I made the appointment online without any issues (except for the fact that no one except me got a confirmation email, but that could've been a glitch). I called before going to confirm they had a very specific color I wanted them to try on from the DB Studio collection, to which they assured me they did. When we arrived, the consultant had all my girls fill out a form and issued them a pamphlet with what seemed like dozens of styles. We asked the consultant again if the dresses they were picking out came in the color I wanted, and she said yes. The girls tried on their dresses and some fell in love with certain styles. When it came time to order, we were told the dresses didn't come in the color I wanted bc they were from a limited collection, and the manager tried to pressure me to order it in a similar color. I'm sorry, whose wedding was this? I was so annoyed. They happened to have the color I wanted in a single style, which only one of the girls could try on. Ultimately that's the dress everyone ended up picking, but we ended up going to a different location where the attendants were a lot more competent and more importantly, didn't try to tell me what color dress I should go with. Maybe it's good if you don't know what you want, but as someone who kind of knew what she wanted, I found it to be a total waste of time and very poor attempt at trying to make a sale. I been here a few times to either buy a bridesmaid dress or because someone I know is getting married and they are dress shopping. They used to be next door but they moved and the store now is a bit smaller but is well organized and very easy to see what they have. I do like that they have chairs outside of each fitting room since its nice to be able to sit while I waited for my friends to try on their dresses. Visited this location with my bridesmaids last weekend. To start, of course the 6 of us were running late and we called while on the way and were able to push back the appointment no problem... which we really appreciated. The young lady that took my information was obviously in a rush and was borderline rude making statements after overhearing what my bridesmaids and I were talking about. (We were talking about how pretty the prom dresses were and she was like "don't think about it...they won't make it to your wedding in time" then also telling me to forget about looking at wedding dresses because I needed a separate appointment) This put a bad taste in my mouth considering this was my very first appointment with my bridesmaids. She pointed us in the direction of the dresses and we didn't see her again. Shortly after, Destiny joined us and turned the whole appointment around! She knew exactly what she was talking about when it came to the sizes and dress styles. Each one of my bridesmaids were thrilled with the dress that they chose. She was the best part of our whole appointment! THANK YOU DESTINY!! *One thing to remember is that this place is VERY busy on the weekends and you will not have a place to sit or have a private area while your girls try on dresses, not the type of experience you see on TV. The review is only based off of the lady that does tailoring.. most of the salesperson there were very accommodating. The lady that does tailoring and also works in sales is beyond pushy and kept suggesting to do their alterations there. I ended up paying extra for cups and they messed that up completely which drew me to go elsewhere for alterations. I ended up finding my local tailor for two layers to hem for $70 when they start at over $160 for such a shitty job. I'd suggest to get your alterations ELSEWHERE. it's such a marketing scheme since it seems convenient to get the dress and alterations done at the same time but it's a SCAM! Also, my dress wasn't available in store and needed to be "ordered" and upon arrival it came stained and looked like someone had tried and returned the dress.. says a lot about DB. read more

Summary: Don't get anything tailored here, don't order anything that's not immediately available. Had a really great experience in-store, but while i was able to try on a dress, it wasn't available in their system. They were diligent about finding and ordering it for me - my experience to that point was good. I went to a series of shops in the city and they were the easiest and nicest to work with. And then.. It took me two or three weeks to receive a receipt for my purchase. A receipt. Not the dress, just a receipt. They couldn't email it to me, so they sent it via fedex. That alone is a crazy business model. I'm now two fittings in, but the dress still doesn't fit. The tailor apparently doesn't want to work mornings, so she kept telling me they were booked (while winking at her coworker). Super unprofessional. So I sent them a text to customer service - because they don't have email (who doesn't have email?!). I received replies to my texts but no follow up and when I called, just now an apology because they never actually did anything with my complaint. Call me Karen, but this is not ok. I have had such a wonderful experience at David's Bridal! I first worked with Fatima who was so sweet, knowledgeable and patient with me. I wasn't expecting to purchase my dress? But I did! The dress was on clearance and although beautiful, needed some work done. Farita, the tailor, worked with me to make sure the dress was exactly as I wanted it, and was able to provide her expertise when I wasn't sure what would look good. She was diligent with all the details and I went in for several fittings (she was pretty flexible, which I very much appreciated). She went out of her way to make it look the way I wanted. I was so disappointed with my appointment. Glendy had left me a voicemail to confirm my appointment. I called back to confirm on June 2nd at 2:42 pm and I asked if this specific dress was available for me to try on in a size 0 or 2. She told me that it was and it was available to order in the soft white model. She also told me to favorite the dresses that I want and if I didn't like the one I originally wanted the stylist would be able to help me pick something similar to the styles. I came in and tried to show my consultant or stylist the dress I had my eye on and the ones I favorited. He told me that I was only able to try on 3 as per COVID protocol, which the lady on the phone the day before did not. So I showed him the one I really wanted and the other ones I favorited. He was only able to find one dress I favorited. It then took forever to find the dress I had particularly requested for on the phone and when they did it was a size 14. So instead of letting me try it on they kept giving me dresses that did not match the style I was looking for. Also instead of helping me zip up any of the dresses, my friend was the only one assisting me with that. They gave me 5-6 dresses that looked nothing like the style I was looking for. I asked them to help pin some dresses to help me fit better and they were very unhelpful. My friend had to even clean up the dresses and heels herself. I'm not sure why I had to make an appointment when the only one who truly assisted me was my friend. read more

I came in for a bridesmaid dress for my best friends wedding which she picked the color and I pick the dress, and I was given my own Davids Bridal associate Bonnie. Bonnie made the experience there quick and easy. She didn't hesitate to give her opinion on certain dresses I picked out and I loved that. She didn't rush me nor force me into buying anything. She explained everything to me as far as the alterations, a time frame as to when the dress would be ready etc. I've been to many Davids Bridals but this locations customer service is above and beyond. This stuff is so rude!!!! During this pandemic you would think they will be more considerate with their customers new situation. When I ordered the off the shelf flower girls dress back in March a week before the shut down, I call customer service to ensure that if anything happened I will be able to get a refund. The wedding was scheduled for May (the store was still CLOSED) the couple canceled the wedding. Now that the store is now open they will NOT refund me MY money!!!!! They claim the dress has been at the store for 130 days lol THE STORE WAS CLOSED!!!!!! I would think they will adjust their return policy during this horrible time. All hands on deck! I can't believe how amazing the service is here at this particular David's Bridal. From the store manager, Keytora to the super accommodating stylist/service reps Bonnie, Jessica and all of the other ladies you won't want to go anywhere else. With the exception of one employee, I had a horrendous experience at another David's Bridal and the team here made me forget i had ever gone there from the very first moment. As soon as you walk through the door you're greeted with a warm welcome and smile by every person from the front desk to the fitting area- even if they are not the staff assisting you. Fatima... I can't praise her enough!!! Patient, charismatic and personable fall short when attempting to describe her. Even when she is working with more than one client, she manages to make you feel like the only person in the store. Her suggestions are spot on and you will fall for them and her! She listened to all my needs and to all my preferences.. until i said "YES" to my dream wedding dress!! The second time i went i waited for Fatima once again because i knew our experience would match the first time i went and needless to say it was. Very poor quality materials and service. They have a no refund policy. I bought a wedding dress and was completely unsatisfied. Originally I wanted it because it was so cheap like $300 I couldn't refuse. But I had nightmares about my wedding and that had poor synthetic silk would be noticeable. I did exchange it but everything is so cheap in the store that I have to buy like 10 items to get to $300. The lady helping me kept talking with her co-workers and I'd catch her and have to interrupt her. There's always customers complaining about something. I took my bridesmaids to this location since it was the nearest for everyone. I arrived early so they couldn't take us since they were busy. At first I was turned off but they let us walk around and browse the accessories. When our time came, the store was quieter so the wait was worth it! Our consultant, Allison, was super sweet and accommodating. We already knew the style, but needed help sizing everything. It was a convertible dress so she helped us come up with necklines to make it unique for each person. She was learning in the process as well! I have been here 4 times for the past month because I happen to be in 2 wedding parties which is a month after each other, first Saturdays of the month *sigh* .. with that being said ... the employees here have made my experience a good thing than dreadful. First visit the person checking us in was ALLISON. They were short handed and she kept us informed and apologized for the situation but hey it happens! We were able to roam around to check out the dresses. Then DAMARIS came to help us and apologized for the wait. She was super helpful and friendly! I was able to try on 6 dresses without a problem and no rushing (the one in Manhattan was terrible). She helped put in our styles in the system so the other bridesmaids can come and try on the ones the bride liked. On the way out, Allison again apologized and asked us if everything was ok then greeted us out. Second visit was a last minute appointment because we wanted to catch the Cyber Monday sale. We had FATIMA. She helped me and the other bridesmaid get the dresses and helped pin them back for a better idea of fit. She was very nice! I actually had her my third visit with another bride. That bride gave her the ideas she wanted for the bridesmaids and jr bridesmaids. Fatima brought out 7 dresses which my friend loved all! Now shes conflicted which one to get. Hopefully the one I like LoL. Fatima gave us the info on the delivery dates and helped us with color theme. The bride ended up changing her mind of the color because Fatima brought colors to compare and we ended up with a brighter and better color that popped! Im happy with the change. My third visit as I said I had Fatima but ALEX the store manager was amazing! We walked in and he greeted us. Then walked us through the store explaining each section of the aisles, what type of dresses they were. Then he showed us the wall with different bridesmaid styles and whichever we liked to just tell Fatima and she will help us, which was very simple and easy than looking online. I kinda wished this was told to me the first visit but thats fine. My other bride walked in having screenshots from the site. Also he told us that theres a new catalogue coming out and if we fall in love with a dress just a heads up it might be discontinued so make sure the bridesmaids get the dresses together or one might not get it after January which was super important information!!! Fourth visit was for the mothers. I had to come because my brother is getting married and I voluteered to go with my mom. We got DESTINY. Another great employee. She was sooo sweet and never left our side! She helped the mothers feel comfortable and helped pin their dresses for a better fit and ideas. She gave us important information about the dresses the mothers liked and was just so friendly. I don't usually write this long but I felt they were so good I had to take the time to make this review. Actually the first David's Bridal I visited was in Manhattan and it was hectic and the employees were rude. It was crazy! They rushed us asking for the dresses because others wanted to try it. UPDATE: So we went in that day- And thank god- all was well with the dress. We were greeted by the Alterations Manager Akela- (she alone gets 5 stars) the woman is sent from Heaven. She made sure that everything was perfect- showed us how to bustle the dress. Everything ended up okay, even though it was a little too close for comfort for us, we were lucky the wedding was in town. My only last qualm is that the day of the wedding, after the ceremony I go to bustle the Brides Dress- only to realize that 3 of the layers were already bustled... meaning she'd worn the dress all through the ceremony and pictures with it half bustled. I didn't notice and neither did she. We had both assumed (wrong I know) but we had assumed that when the dress was given to us the bustle had been taken out. Minor mistake some might say- but for me it was just another thing to add to my unhappy list. Bottom line: Will I go here for alterations again? Maybe, for a bridesmaid dress. They did a great job in the end- just with frustration on our part. OLD REVIEW: Do NOT get alterations done here. I went here 5 years ago had a great experience- they even changed the style of my dress. I raved about them to my sister in law. So my sister in law went there and purchased a dress. She made her alterations appointment, had no problem. Well we were scheduled to go in there on Friday to receive the dress and make sure everything was good. The appointment was at 5:30, they called at 4:00pm telling the BRIDE that the dress wasn't ready. Not what you want to here the week before your wedding- so they claim they need until Monday. Since it's the wedding week we had other wedding appointments on Monday- so we couldn't go until today. The Bride calls just now and guess what.... they tried to give her the same BS that the dress was not ready since it has such intricate lace detail. But we have already paid (hundreds- literally hundreds of dollars) and the wedding is in 4 days and we don't have time to wait any longer!!! When we couldn't find sizes for a particular dress in a particular color for my bridal party, we decided to make an appointment and pop in. Well, that couldn't have been a better choice! Our stylist Jessica was AMAZING! She accommodated my bridal party's figures and budget all while being patient and fun! After finding the dresses we LOVED, she gave us some helpful tips for the days leading to the big day and the day of. The space at this DB was bright, welcoming and professional and the fitting room/showing area was spacious and absolutely beautiful! First let me say I came this this specific location because of the reviews. I guess I wasn't important enough for them since I came in by myself to find my bridesmaids dresses for the girls since they don't live here in NY. I even told them I would be buying a dress for one of them who lives in a small town with no dress stores nearby. I checked in, waited 15 minutes or so for the woman to call my name only to tell me to take a look at the dresses and see what I like. (Why did I just waste 15 minutes for you to tell me this?). I found some I liked but she was no where to be found and I wasn't sure I should be pulling the dresses myself. I asked the front desk girl and she asked me if I had an appointment. Are you kidding? you just checked me in and stood there as I waited. So I pulled about 10 dresses by myself, tracked down the woman who was supposed to be helping me- she opened up a dressing room which had a huge ballgown in and said "it's okay, go ahead." This is where I held back but must have given the "ummmm how will I fit in there while trying on dresses? You cant even see the mirror." So she opened up a new one for me that was empty. She said they were short staffed but she or someone will come back and help me. Well I tried on all 10 dresses by myself and by the time I was dressed and ready to leave someone knocked on the door and asked if I needed help. I ended up leaving after that but when I got to the front there were 3 girls at the desk that could have been helping me and not a single one acknowledged me as I left. It would have been nice to have had the help- I went back online and saw a ton of dresses I wish I tried on or knew if they had in stock in the color I wanted. Originally I went to a store in Long Island, much closer to me, but the dress I wanted was only in the Long Island City store-so I went. And I was not disappointed at all. In the other store, the girl literally gave me the dresses and left. SHE LEFT. Here, Daniella was so patient with me and she helped me with every single dress. Every single button, question, whatever I needed she was a tremendous help. I accompanied a friend to find a dress for her civil service. This was the second time she was at the store and we were met with Dameris who was supposed to be helping but as the session went on, she was clearly uninterested in helping as we had to seek her out multiple times to find accessories. When we finally found a dress after searching ourselves, we were told that the dress would not be available for the date. The store had apparently a later date on paper but the correct date in the system. This could have been avoided if we had an employee who actually tried to help but instead two days were wasted and met with a "sorry" and no other solution. Clearly since we weren't buying a "wedding" dress and paying big bucks, we weren't important. To say she was helpful during all my visits is an underestimate.Her attention to detail is like no other. She is one of those people, who will make any bride feel special. She gave me her undivided attention, and I genuinely feel like she cares about her brides-to-be. I can tell that my happiness, was her happiness. Denise, thank you for your bubbly personality and being so happy/eager to help make my experience, a beautiful one. Keytora was my second experience. She has not let me down, not for a second. I have two dresses - one for the ceremony and one for the reception. These two ladies work hard to make perfection exist when it comes to their flawless work! I had a million questions about their price breakdowns, their opinion on certain things to do or not to add/alter and, without hesitation or a hint of annoyance, happily answered me and gave me their professional opinion! I bought my wedding dress here yesterday and it was a great experience! I was apprehensive when I first got to the store because my appointment was for 10:30 am and I showed up a few minutes early and was told that the doors would not be opened until 10:30. I thought that was a little strange so I was worried that the appointment wouldn't go well, or that they wouldn't be helpful/accommodating. But I shouldn't have worried! Fatima, my consultant, and Alex, the store manager, were SO helpful, kind, and patient. Fatima provided me with a longline bra to wear when she noticed I wasn't wearing a strapless bra, and then helped me try on a total of seven or eight dresses that I had saved to my favorites list online or seen in the racks when I first got to the store. I had been thinking about getting a short dress, so in addition to pulling several short dresses for me they also clipped a few longer gowns to show me how they would look after alterations. Fatima grabbed veils and shoes for me to try on, and while she had to help other brides while working with me, I never felt neglected as Alex was there to help me. Fatima was great about checking in each time I had on a new dress. There were two dresses that I really liked and I was feeling sort of confused about which one to choose. Then Fatima brought over a new dress that I hadn't picked. Forgive me for being vague as I want my dress to remain a surprise even if someone (like my fiance) reads this, but the dress Fatima brought looked very strange to me in the bag because something about it was totally different from the other dresses I'd been trying on- but man, I think Fatima might be a genius and also a miracle worker. This dress was AMAZING on me. It complemented my skin tone and my body type perfectly, and I felt beautiful in it. Fatima and Alex were so great and I know they were not just trying to make a sale. If they had just wanted to make the sale, they would have tried to talk me into one of the two dresses I'd already been considering. Instead, Fatima made sure I had the dress that best suited me, and I am so grateful that she worked so hard to make me happy. Both Alex and Fatima really honored my budget, as well. My mother had very generously offered to pay for the dress and veil, and I was worried that I would fall in love with a dress that was too expensive- instead, my mom was able to pay for the dress and veil AND bought my wedding shoes as well because the bill was so reasonable. As a full figured woman, clothes shopping can sometimes leave me feeling terrible. When I left David's Bridal yesterday after picking out my wedding dress, my mom, mother in law to be and I all felt calm, happy, and excited, and I felt pretty good about myself! Eden, who helped us out, was so friendly and had amazing suggestions. She had awesome customer service skills and she deserves a raise. I am a bridesmaid and came here to shop for bridesmaid dresses with the bride, another bridesmaid who was local to NYC and a bridesmaid in Tennesee who was on facetime/speakerphone/and finally text (two phones ran out of juice in the process) and NO appointment. To say Alison was a miracle worker is an understatement. She understood the work we were going for immediately (Burgundy ombre, four different colors, four different styles, all with straps and all knee length. And we found them! I went to David's Bridal to find a dress. I was introduced to Brian. Brian came off as a sweet, motivated sales person. Typical sales person; no disrespect. Communication was great and I felt comfortable at first. At first! Brian rushed my first experience in dresses. He decided for me. I had ZERO say on what I wanted. He Told me what "he thought" was good for me and what was not instead of letting me decide. I felt pressured and rushed. It wasn't genuine and I believe he was jaded by other women being bridezillas. I believe women make it hard for sales people when it comes to finding the dress! & I understand completely. As a Tom boy; I'm a simple woman. I just wanted a dress I've always dreamed of since forever. I told him I didn't like mermaid dresses. I didn't have the hips to fit mermaid dress. He totally believed I had the curves when I told him I didn't. When I finally tried the mermaid dresses on he reconsidered. He was pushy and not genuine. I wasn't expecting to find a dress that same day. I felt pressured! It felt rushed! I almost came close to buying that dress. The dress i didn't like. He tried to convince me THE dress was for ME! I made my way out & ran for my life! Zero regrets! That same day I went Macy's on 34th st and found THE DRESS! perfect dress! PERFECT! my dream dress just showed up as if it was made for me. I wasn't pressured. It was the ONE! I've seen other women cry and go crazy over dresses in Macy's and I can understand a salespersons frustrations and need to get women IN & OUT. It's a sad thing. Completely understandable. I'm a simple woman and on my first try & FIRST DAY on finding a wedding dress; I found the one with no pressure at "Macy's". My dress! My dress at Macy's was far more expensive than the dress at David's bridal. I was very motivated to spend over 2K with no regrets! Zero! It was THE ONE! Thank you Macy's.
