The best experience I've ever had at a Men's Wearhouse. Sometimes buying a suit can be intimidating, but Malcolm and the crew at this location provided exceptional service. I came in with a look in mind, and never did Malcolm try to deter me from my vision, but instead worked with me within my budget and timeline to make my style happen. The service was top-notch and I could tell I was actually being listened to and taken care of. After explaining why I was unhappy and linking to this review, the representative from Men's Wearhouse responded to apologize and refunded a substantial portion of the rental fee. Here is my original review: Here's the thing: you probably aren't reading this review because you're trying to decide which suit rental place to go with. Probably, you or your bridal party have decided to go with Men's Wearhouse, because they are one of the only ones in town, and you're checking Yelp to see what you're in for. Well, the service reflects the fact that there's not a lot of options or competition. I have been here three times now. 2012: When renting the tuxedos for my wedding, they were fine. A bit expensive and there was some upselling, but we got what we wanted and everything was ready when we needed it. Extremely patient in answering our questions about different styles. Four stars. 2014: When I bought a suit there, it was okay. The suit is quite nice and the staff were helpful, but very strongly worked on selling the accessories. I get that this is the business model, but it was pretty constant. I got some dress shirts - and while I like the quality of the cloth, the style has a very small neck. My neck is a bit wider than is normal, but not exceptionally so - but these shirts require a little extender to even button the top button, and despite assurances, the extenders do not work well. Three stars for that experience. July 2017: When renting a tuxedo for a friend's wedding, I was not pleased. The initial fitting was fast and professional. However, when I went to pick up the tuxedo the experience was less good. The store was mostly empty (I went after work) but I was given my suit and asked to try it on, then they would help me with the jacket. The tuxedo pants were clipped in such a way that I couldn't fasten them. The way to unclip them was not obvious to me, and when I poked my head out of the fitting room, all of the nearby staff had disappeared. So I had to find another employee - who seemed irritated to be dealing with me - to explain how the pants worked, as I got to walk around the store with the front of my pants open. I get that the solution is obvious if you know how fancy clothes work, but I don't wear tuxedos often and needed a bit of help. I feel like some of the $200+ charge should maybe go towards service in explaining how to wear the thing. The shoes I received also didn't fit right - they were about a half size too big and did not fit like the ones during the fitting. I asked if they had anything smaller but they did not. So again, $200+ for a suit that fits and shoes that don't really. In the past, I've had better experiences, but the most recent one was definitely 2 stars and that's what I'm giving them. Overall? The suits look sharp, to be sure. But the service is lacking between the attempts to sell you more things on commission and the way that the staff disappears after they've run your card. read more

I officiate weddings part-time and needed a new dark blue suit. I went to the Black Friday sale at Men's Wearhouse in Champaign to look for one. One suit! Look what happened to me! I must tell you, I've been buying upscale menswear for a long time, and I have rarely had a more purely enjoyable shopping experience than I enjoyed today. Gabriel, the store manager, was a revelation: experienced, knowledgeable, helpful, caring. He was...elegant, and at no point did I ever feel any pressure to buy additional items. (Although I think we ended up buying about 14.) He's only in town because his wife is earning her degree at the University of Illinois: he's really too good for Champaign-Urbana (it's just a fact), so go see him while he's among us. Can't say enough good things about this place. They are the "brother store" of Davids Bridal shop just up the road. They have been fantastic making sure that the suits match what the bridesmaids dresses will be. My fiancé's sister will be on his side this Sunday for our big day and Men's Wearhouse matched the exact color of her dress for the groomsmen so she wouldn't stand out. She got her dress as Davids. We picked up my fiancé's suit today since it came in the week and made sure it fit. Because he has 5 groomsmen his was free. It was great. read more

My boyfriend and I went to Men's Wearhouse specifically for him to get new suits for job interviews. We had been here before for him to rent a tux for a wedding and had received good service, so we decided to go back several months later for the suits. We had GREAT service. Amanda was wonderful and took her time with us. She really knew the merchandise and was very helpful in putting looks together based on my boyfriend's preferences and found suits that fit him really well. The other sales people in the store were also very nice, friendly and helpful. We really couldn't have had a better experience and my boyfriend even ENJOYED shopping for suits which was very unexpected! Next time he needs a tux or any more dress clothes we will definitely be back. They did a great job! read more

I went to the Men's Wearhouse in Champaign and I was amazed at the service you get there. ALL of the staff are friendly and they go the extra mile to make sure you're taken care of. I went there to buy a suit for an event that was happening the same day and they were able to do difficult alterations on the slacks in under two hours. They even steamed the shirts and pressed all the pants I bought! This is the way business should be done. A lot of stores in Champaign can take notes on how to treat their customers. I will shop there from now on because of this. If you live in Champaign/Urbana you all know how rude and unprofessional some employees can be when it comes to customer service. Gold star for Men's Wearhouse, they are by far the best place to shop for nice men's clothes. read more

Staff was nice, but prices are OUTRAGEOUS. They charged $200 for a calvin klein tux rental. I can buy a new one for under $600. They are holding the wedding industry hostage. As a groomsman I'm forced to go there. No other options. However, rest assured I will never choose to do business voluntarily with these outrageous prices. read more

I left a review on this business last December and this is a follow up review based on the experience I had there yesterday. The moment I walked through the door the guy who helped me last time, Gabriel, remembered my name off the bat. This was unexpected and definitely went a long way with me. I also noticed that there was someone spending much more money than me and he treated me just as well as them. This is such a rarity in most industries, especially when there is such a disparity between people and the amount of money they spend. He helped me (a humble teacher looking to get my foot in the door and who has virtually zero fashion sense) find a great suit at a very affordable price for what I was getting. For $565 I got a suit jacket and pants, belt, shoes, and necessary alterations to the suit. The retail for said items was pushing $900 and I went into the store and showed him a coupon that entitled me to 40% off my purchase. He stated that that coupon wasn't available for the suit that I wanted but that he had a coupon in the back that would give me the discount I was hoping to receive. Odds are he didn't really have the coupon and just gave the discount to make sure I was happy, but while he may have initially lost potential money on the deal, he gained a loyal customer. Going out of the way to make sure I was happy with the price really spoke volumes to his commitment to customer service, as did his patience in helping me pick a suit that would enable me to look my best for a job fair I needed the clothes for. I was also impressed that he did not pressure me with any up sells and was upfront with the price for the items and adjustments I needed. This place is top shelf and Gabriel is a big contributor to that status. I hope they are paying him well because it will be their loss if they let him get snatched up by someone else. As a previous reviewer said, "he is too good for Champaign." He also encouraged me to keep him updated with how my job search goes. I was duly impressed and will be returning WHEN I get a coveted teaching job to celebrate by upgrading my wardrobe. I was here once to buy an emergency suit for an interview. Had to go with a black Calvin Klein suit. Service: The employees are attentive and courteous. They do cater to the customer. That being said, some of their style advice is out of date. They tried to sell me a center-vent, pleated pants suit which should tell you something. However, they were quick to pull out what I suggested and help me alter it. Product: I'll be honest, I 98% regret buying the suit. All of their suits are fused construction and out-of-date. The fused construction means that after a few times of dry cleaning, I'll be seeing bubbles popping up in the fabric or the glue holding pices together will start to come apart. That's why I've only worn the suit once and put it in storage. That being said, it did save me in this instance. However, I prefer SuitSupply, which is better quality, construction, and cheaper than MW's full price suits. Conclusion: MW will serve those who need a quick suit or those who don't care about suit quality and price. However, if you're looking for a better suit for the same or cheaper price, go somewhere else. Honestly, Macy's suits are cheaper and the exact same quality as MW. read more

2nd time getting tux from there and this time it was so bad that the groom was pissed at al the mistakes. First the tux arrived a week later then what was said then when I got to try it on finally the pants were too long, actually had to use a belt to keep tight, the long sleeve shirt was small in the arms, the vest was definitely smaller then the rest and the tux was too big I had have my arms straight in front of me and the sleeves ended at my knuckles. I was the best man and I had thee worst tux there but I wasn't the only one definitely will not use Men's Wearhouse in the future. read more

I'm not a really formal guy. I like to wear tanks, shorts, and flip flops. I'm pretty clueless when it comes to suits. Gabriel O. at Men's Wearhouse was super accommodating and helpful in getting me exactly what I needed: a versatile suit I could use for years to come. Weddings, job interviews. He helped me get what I needed. I did spend a pretty penny, but I was happy to knowing I'd get something I could use for years to come for basically anything. Took like 45 minutes and I had help every step of the way. You engineer nerds that know nothing about formal wear like me, go and ask for Gabriel!! P.S. I signed up for Yelp just to write this.
