I started my normal…read moreappliance replacement procedure by going online, looking up brand and model, checking out whether it was still being made, whether to repair it or replace it, how was it originally rated, what new models might be better etc. etc. I then thought about my "old way" of shopping the big box stores using this information to find, purchase, haul, install and recycle the old one. Yikes! Yes... I had done that in the past! Now ...Nope; that's waay too much time and effort for my 82 year old body! I had heard good things about Smetzers Appliance store from "word of mouth" - I looked up their website, found they handled my brand and gave them a call. Hollace(sp) answered the phone and asked if he could help me. I explained I needed a new Microwave and what I had done prior to calling him. He gave me the entire history of my particular make and model of Microwave, that it was a good unit, they had had good success with that model and a replacement of that model was available. My wife was on the call with me and she asked if the replacement model had this or that feature on it instead of what was on our old one. Hollace patiently and very clearly explained the "features" differences between 3 different new models of "our unit" along with the various "color differences of the stainless steel choices" since our entire kitchen was of one style of stainless. She told Hollace he was a "good salesman! I asked about whether the unit we eventually selected was in stock, installation fees, set up date, time, and delivery, as well as removal and recycle of our old unit. Hollace checked yes to every box and/or answered every question of ours very professionally. I said do you take plastic? He said yes! So ... researched, investigated, selected, bought and scheduled for delivery in 10 minutes! Awesome! Fast forward to delivery and install (in less than a week's time.) Isaac and Brad delivered and professionally installed our new "replacement" microwave unit. They were great! even noticing our "cabinet door 'fit' above the microwave" was slightly "off" and adjusted it to perfection! Thanks so much guys! IMHO - One could not find a better business than Smetzers to buy or service your appliances.

The folks at Smetzer we're able to step in where another local provider significantly dropped the ball and run with it. They didn't disappoint! They arrived as scheduled, followed the communications instructions requests, and did their jobs as expected. When the appliance proved to be a challenging repair, Bob went well above and beyond and did the legwork (and consultation of the old old old manuals) to persevere. As he said, 'I'm gonna fix this thing cuz I know I can.' The customer service was exemplary and the cost of the repair was nearly 35% LESS than 'Mr. I can't fix your appliance' If you're in the Norwalk area and you need an appliance repair, you would be wise to select Smetzer. One of them is an 8 year old boy that his uncle tells me suffers from Meyers-Briggs syndrome. He's a huge sports fan so I decided to pick him up some sporting goods. At mile post 100, ready for a break from the road I fired up the old google map in search of a sporting goods store, and Suri dutifully revealed to me this Dick's Sporting Goods in Sandusky, OH. It's a great store. Huge, well lit, very few dark corners. They have everything from athletic wear to Zamboni parts. The staff was almost creepily helpful. After checking out their skate gear, lacrosse sticks, bodybuilding equipment and sundry other offerings, I settled on a full set of football gear. The boy's uncle had told me that he really wanted to play pee-wee football but was not allowed because one of the major side effects of Meyers-Briggs syndrome is excessive crying. But there's no reason he can't dress up like his heroes of the gridiron! I picked him up a Riddell helmet, Cleveland Browns jersey, pads, pants, and a tiny little jock strap all for less than $200! On the way out I grabbed myself a new set of Adidas shower shoes, some Quench gum, and I was on my way. I'll be sure to check out Dick's in my hometown, but it's unlikely I'll have cause to revisit Dick's in Sandusky.

The employee said " no, nothing like that here". I asked were the lamps were stocked. Without saying another word he pointed in a direction. I found the lamps and the one in question. It is absolutely perfect and does the exact what I needed it to do. I suggest some customer relations training for the staff at this store.

I even took pictures of that sale tag last week when we were there. So today, I go right to the printer to purchase it and the sale tag is removed and not only sale no longer in effect BUT now the original price is $25 higher at $124!!! WHAT??? So I go up to the guy (same one who talked with us last week) and asked him about it. He said what does it say now? I said $124. He said Corporate pulled it. I said even when I have pictures of it on sale with the expiration date??? (which I showed to him.) He said yeah they can do that. I said they even raised it another $25! He said sorry coporate ordered that. So I said well they lost a sale. I was flabbergasted!!! Got in the car on the way home, searched online for the same printer at the sale price of $69.99 and found it through Walmart for the same deal with free shipping to our house! I was flabbergasted again and as soon as I got home I ordered it before the sale price was removed! I was just shocked that Staples would do such a thing and that they wouldn't honor the sale price even when I had proof on my phone with the expiration date. The sales person I talked with gets 5 because he's the one last week who was so knowledgeable and answered all my quotations and pretty much sold us on this printer and today he was just doing his job. Not his fault the company doesn't stand by their printed sales. Very disappointed in Staples "Corporate " decisions on sale items. Staples has lost a customer.

Placed an order for hat at the the Njrope steampunk worlds fair. The hat was already made all that…read morewas needed was the trim. 4 months later after complaints and going to better business bureau. I received the hat damaged. The belt trim that took 4 months to place on the hat was stuck on by double sided tape. That was already peeling off when received. Answer I received was they find taking that long for an item to be received to be good business practice. I finally got them accept a refund but been waiting over a week to receive return shipping label. I'm hoping that's not going to take another 4 months. Also there was no offer of discount for it being damaged for taping it together or for taking 4 months to receive a hat that was paid for at $165. Make sure if you do order a hat use a credit card. And go through Etsy so you have forms of protection from shotty workmanship. And you can cancel the order if it takes 4 months to get it. I'm at the point now I'm going to division of consumer affairs because I can't trust this company. That when I return the hat will I get a refund? 4 months to just receive it made me believe they were going to keep the hat and money. Now I have to return the hat if they send the return label. And hope they refund my money in less then 4 months. I lucked out by asking for a receipt at the convention. They did not want to give a receipt at the time and now I know why.
