Fantastic experience. Yes, good prices (~1/3 cheaper than big box stores). More importantly, the staff at Mentor Lumber is awesome: welcoming, knowledgeable, efficient, friendly. Today, for example, Sal thoughtfully worked through available products to assemble the order, Lewie assembled a quote for a future project, and Collin and Saaid were awesome in how they helped pick the wood and place carefully it all in my sedan. So I had a new double man door put in by Tom Kirk and his crew who are supposed to be highly rated and hey are also costly. BUT if they do an amazing job I don't care. Well over 3 grand and 3 1/2 yrs later the door is swollen and water damaged. Tom said well that is what happens when snow sits up against the door. I live in Geauga County. I get lots of snow. Why would you sell me and recommend to me a door that can't handle this weather. I relied on his expertise just like someone would rely on mine for nursing. I am very very disappointed. I am beyond disappointed. I can go anywhere and pay less and get this nonsense. I will update the end result when this is resolved. Otherwise you may want to look elsewhere if you work hard for your money. I wanted to give an update. My door was replaced for free and Tom had his crew come and install for free. He called and explained it is the product or in my case the door that failed. I was very satisfied although I am very worried that the door will fail again and that will be very disappointing. I would never had replaced my door in the first place but the threshold on the original door was beginning to rot and I did not have any other choice. I will increase my rating since they came out to repair this. read more

Clearly disorganized. After reading some google reviews, its VERY apparent they operate by the seat of their pants. I ordered over 6k of materials on 3/02/2018 and was promised delivery by 3/9/2018. So when I called on 3/10/2018 to ask about it, you can imagine my surprise that they hadn't even placed the order (I was indeed charged already though). I was then called on 3/12/2018 and promised delivery 3/13/2018 except not really. Because the entirety of my order can't be fulfilled until 3/16/2018. So, for my trouble, they are refunding me $25. Thanks for absolutely no effort. It seems to me that if you don't have something readily available, you can't sell it. And if you sell something, you have to actually give up that something....otherwise, its extortion, no? But, hey, thanks for $25. That'll DEFINITELY make up for being a week late. It's lumber guys.....not weapons-grade uranium. Nothing complicated. read more

This review is yet another example of how I scratch my head and wonder how brick-and-mortar businesses stay in business. I drove out to Mentor Lumber upon the suggestion of our contractor. I needed to select a Timber Tech material for our deck steps. While in the store, Rick approached me. I asked him if I could stain our existing Timber Tech deck. He asked me to send him pictures of the boards on our current deck. I raced home, took the pictures and emailed them to him. Do you know what he said? Instead of answering my question, he told me to look on the Timber Tech web site. Hey thanks a lot for wasting my time. I thought the least the guy could do was look it up and tell me if my boards are even stainable and what to use like he was supposed to. Lazy. What a wasted trip. These people are not helpful. read more

We had all our windows, front door and three sliding doors replace by Mentor Lumber, Tom Kirk and crew. They did an amazing job! The quality of their workmanship was amazing. The finish carpentry was seamless. We received a quote, and they performed in accordance with the quote and exceeded our expectations. The communication throughout the process was very good. They even went above and beyond to match the paint color of the windows...when it wasn't perfect, they persisted to get the right color. Each day the crew would clean their mess, and left our place as if there was no work being done. We we're okay with them leaving their equipment in our garage. We highly recommend Mentor Lumber, Tom Kirk and the crew. We would definitely use them again! read more
