It has been a year since Wellmed corporate dropped all it commercial insurance. I just want tell you some of experience since my last visit. 1st I began to request my complete file I had been a patient since 1989/ while the computer record want back to 2005. I submitted the request in June of 2024 for the complete records. ( I mean everything that was produced or recevied from other offices.) At first I was sent 2 months of files from Versima (they manage the record) I was give a run around no file found, donot have excess to those files, etc for months. I had to reach out to Wellmed corp,then optum and the United Healthcare Group ( parent company) it was close to 8 months before I or my new PCP recevied my files. And even some where missing still. When I contract corporate about it i fid not get an answer back at all 2nd the Wellmed office was to be available to use to ask question until January 1 2025. But they shut down the partial portal in September less then a month after the last visit. So we could not ask a question or look at the files or medication etc. 3rd the office and clinical staff was doing there best to help over 10,000 patient (only this location plus everyone from it countless office in Florida) transition to new doctor. It was Wellmed corporate that gave little notice that it was transiting ONLY TO MEDICARE PATIENT. The office manager was just bad! With short tempted and would not or was not able to explain is simple tream what was going on. 4th Wellmed Corp was worse never returned a call or email.

I began seeing Dr. Constant last year with the recommendation by a friend. His office is located in…read morethe Carr building off of Executive Center Drive nearby Colonial and Maguire. While the office itself is fairly large and on both occasions I've seen a few folks waiting, patients are brought back fairly quickly. The nurse I've seen twice is personable yet professional. Dr. Constant is incredibly thorough, organized and has a great "bed-side manner. He made knowledge pertaining to my thyroid highly accessible to me without ever being condescending. While he is working with a patient, he has someone in the exam room transcribing for him. I believe this allows him to spend more time addressing patient concerns as opposed to documenting. I would highly recommend Dr. Constant for care of your endocrine system.

I would have loved to have come in but I never got notified about this place being open. I came back recently due to their REFUSAL to refill my insulin. They refused to fill my insulin to force me to come in when they hadn't attempted to reschedule my appointment when they reopened! When they refused to refill my insulin I went to make an appointment and it was schedule 7 weeks later. I had to buy my insulin on the open market even though I had health insurance. I was most frustrated because if they had simply told me they were open I would have been in. Do they forget that nearly everyone has phones? They certainly knew I had a phone due to their prior pandemic reminders, and their text message asking me to confirm my appointment earlier today. Did something happen to create an atmosphere of apathy here? Is there some new research that says denying diabetics insulin is helpful? Is denying diabetics insulin the most efficient way to contact their patients? If you're a diabetic with a predictable life then this might be the place for you. But if your life is chaotic I would recommend going to doctor who swore an oath to do no harm. They get two stars because they've done good work in the past. Whenever my labs showed concerning results, she would blame the issues on medication or tell me I had anxiety. Even after I stopped taking all medications for months, my concerns were still dismissed. Over time, my symptoms and conditions worsened. I eventually found another endocrinologist who actually listened to me and took my concerns seriously. After reviewing my labs and ordering additional testing, he confirmed that my results pointed to the issue I had been concerned about for years. When I brought those results back to this doctor, she still dismissed them. Instead of acknowledging my concerns, she accepted payment for the final appointment and then told me she would no longer see me because I had found another doctor. I feel like I wasted years trying to get help, only to be made to feel like I was imagining things. I suffered for a long time while trying to figure out what was wrong on my own.
