Since this doggie daycare is out in the SE industrial part of Calgary, it's less expensive than dropping your pooch off downtown. $22 for a full day of dog slobbers. Of course like most dog housing establishments, you get a better deal if you buy a card. The bonus is if you do partake in the card deal is they will clip your dog's nails for you! Which is amazing as nothing stresses me or my golden out more than me with the nail clippers, cutting off the tiniest pieces of nail for fear of clipping a vein. End sad puppy dog face. They have two rooms, the large dog play area and the rest/little dog room. Indy is often in the rest room as he wipes himself out early on in the day and loves little dogs. I haven't tested out the grooming side here other than the nail clips as my boy just needs brushing, but my only complaint is that with the rest room (hehehhe not bathroom), they have couches and chairs in there and I am pretty sure this where my dog learned that he is fully able to get up on the couch when no one is at home. He also knows to get off the couch before we open the door. On the other hand, It is nice to know though that if you decide to board your pup over night they are not left in kennels, but in the rest area where they have their choice of soft option to lay down on. Like all dog daycares your dog will be pleasantly exhausted after a full day here, the staff are really friendly and always have smiles for Indy when he paws his way through the door in the morning. He came out looking like they only poofed him up instead of shaved him - but in the years since, we haven't been able to get our dog to even go into Petsmart for any reason. We heard about Mystic Pawz at the offleash park from a very handsome pup and his owner. We figured we would try it. We've been to many groomers, but this is the only one that our dog doesn't seem terrified of. Each and every time we've been there, he has come out looking wonderful and goes in willingly (which is refreshing as he's been known to break out of his collar to escape other grooming salons). The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the dogs are taken care of. The attention to detail is wonderful. They are quick to respond and very flexible about getting the dogs in. Despite moving further away from this salon, it will be the only one we take our pup too. It is definitely worth the extra drive. If you want your dog treated right, looking good and for a more than fair price - these guys are superb! They are consistent, friendly, and really great to work with. We will be life long pet owners - so we will be lifelong customers of these guys!

I am always so confident leaving Frank with these lovely people, all of them are always so happy and excited to see every dog. They try to put on events for the dogs. I love the fact that at anytime during the work day I can peak at the webcams and see what they are up to, usually just see my dog in the corner barking as usual. I had called in earlier today to book my small dog in for grooming services. The girl who I talked to over the phone said they actually had a cancellation so I could bring my dog in at 4:30pm. I realized that I wouldn't be able to make the appointment as I was getting off work a bit later than usual today so I asked if it is possible for me to come by after 5:00pm. The lady I spoke with said it's absolutely fine and that they can definitely get my dog in as long as we're there prior to 5:30pm. When we went to drop my dog off (at exactly 5:25pm) we were told (by Brandy and Megan) that they would not accept her as they were claiming it was 5:33pm and since we were supposedly 3 minutes late they could no longer accept her. We were not late! We were actually shocked by this and even double checked the time only to be told that our clocks must be behind and the store clock is accurate. Seriously..? We arrived prior to 5:30 and even if we hypothetically arrived 3 minutes late, it's still not okay to reject a customer in that manner. At that point we didn't want to argue as the two ladies seemed so careless and unprofessional that we felt extremely uncomfortable ever leaving our dog with them. I'm still pretty shocked about this situation. We have been longtime customers at this Petland location so it's unfortunate that this occurred. We will be taking our dog elsewhere and advising our friends to stay clear of this location.
