I gave the new Doc more second chances than she deserved, simply because I was unaware that there are other cat only veterinarians / practices out there. I am tired of being soaked financially for tests upon tests only to find that unless I take the time to research what might be wrong with my cat, this Vet knows nothing! There are other Vets at KCH that I could try out as well, but I was never given the option, nor did anyone care enough to ask if I was satisfied in the first place. The place is overrun with staff bumping into each other that It feels more like the McDonald's of cat care than a top notch Veterinary care clinic. The only thing they are better at is charging more $$$$ than my previous Vet. Run away!!!

However, if you view their website and find a pet you wish to adopt, you must make an appointment to see that particular animal. The inside, as previously mentioned, is under construction and renovation, is reasonably bright and airy though small compared to other animal shelters I have visited in other states and provinces. The staff is friendly and informative regarding the condition and expectation of the animals that are available for adoption. The fees are much higher than I expected but the pets are microchipped, come with 6 months free pet license, 6 weeks trial insurance of some sort, spayed or neutered, and have all the shots except rabies. Hopefully, they will be able to increase the size and services of the facility.

Just want to say "Thank you" to the staff for the work you do, from the front desk, by law officers and caring staff looking after each cat and dog. There are several rescue groups to choose from and some people don't think about our own animal services in Calgary. If you are looking for a new addition to your home, please check their web site and go and see the cats or dogs. The cost is so reasonable, including a bag of food, license, vacinations, health check and microchip and afew weeks pet insurance. Each dog or cat is waiting and hoping for their new forever home.

I quickly learned that Donia is a very remarkable person who offers more than just her board and train services. It's also great to note that she offers these services in her own home which means she spends a lot of time with each of the pets that she takes in. When we first met with Donia, she explained her services and based on our training needs recommended a two week board and train for our 14 months old boxer. BONUS: She also owns boxers and understands their boxer-isms! We were a bit hesitant and worry-some to leave our pup with someone and we were always curious as to his going-on's. But Donia was awesome at keeping her facebook page updated with pictures and updates on to his training status. She also sent check-in emails which put our minds at ease. Once he was done his training, we immediately saw a change in his behaviours and definitely picked up on the new things he had learned with her. We did find a need for additional training on his crating but Donia was quick to offer assistance and tips for us. She has been a great resource for us and we are glad to have met her. We will definitely use her services again as she has become an important part of our family.

The prices were fair, she took the time with each one of my cats and got to know their personalities a bit. She's come out twice now, and both times I have only positive things to say. I will continue to use this service, especially for check ups and non-stop emergency concerns. Our instructions were, that we receive paw prints and a lock of his hair. Not difficult I would think. Unfortunately we did not get the hair. They didn't clip it. I can't say how much anguish this has caused and there is no going back. We've had issues before with this clinic. We had an emergency and they said they would take our dog for an extra 25.00. I felt confident sending her in to get help on her own. the kitten was lethargic, not eating, not drinking, which my daughter, thru tears, explained to Dr. maya. she was told we don't take walk ins sorry. Go to emergency. Dr. Maya was cold, and didn't even look at kitten. customers waiting told my daughter they were sorry and hoped her kitten would be alright as she left. Dr. Maya and staff said nothing, not even goodbye. my daughter took a cab to Shawnessy and was told they don't take walk ins either, but considering the symptoms were severe and my daughter was clearly upset, they looked at kitten. Despite being fully booked as well, they helped her and were wonderful and caring. The kitten had to be euthanized an hour later, diagnosed with extremely fast progressing FIP. This was an awful lot for an 28 year old to handle, but the staff at Shawnessy pet hospital were caring and wonderful. My daughter said Dr Malay was cold towards her and made her feel uncomfortable. And then proceeded to stare at her saying nothing as she cried and waited for her cab to take kitten elsewhere. Shame on you. We will never be back , and we have had two dogs from puppy to adulthood have all their treatment there. If there was a zero star review.... Dr Naya would get that for showing zero compassion. maybe if an adult, not 18 year old had walked in the treatment would have been different
