If this was 4 months ago, it would have been a 5 star. We had to exit our townhouse twice due to plumbing issues. The first time, they have us 3 days to get our essentials. The second time, they gave us 12 hours to gather up our essentials and get out. On top of that, my husband had COVID. We were told by the contractors that they wanted to wait until my husband did not have COVID to enter the unit. Management refused. Because of this, my youngest, a 24 week micro preemie, got COVID. It could have killed her! But management did not care. They wanted to be done with this place. So after the second time, we asked to transferred to a new unit. In which, management did not offer to help pay for movers and/or a dumpster to remove our garbage. After it was all clear to move the rest of our items, they gave us 5 days. I kept saying that we need more time because we have a lot of garbage. Nope, only 5 days. We stuck the garbage in the garage told maintenance we tried. They agreed to take care of it. I get a call from management. We have to take care of the garbage left in the garage. Communication has been really bad the past couple of months. Renters beware. read more

We have lived here for 1 1/2 years and I can't wait to move. PROS: 1. The landscaping and all of the exterior maint. is very good. 2. The staff is attentive. 3. These houses are in an excellent/safe area. CONS: 1. These houses are so outdated and EVERYTHING in them is poor quality. EVERYTHING: all flooring, appliances, cabinets, window treatments, doors, walls, and fixtures. 2. We had an issue with mice. They were in our house. They were in every house in our row. Two of my neighbors had them in their stoves (inside and popping up out of the burners). Apparantely, there was a hole in the back of my house (between my house and the attached neighbor) that they were coming in through. Eventually, we had three dead mice (TWO IN OUR WALLS). Talk about a smell...OMG! I have read reviews on YAHOO. Years ago, people had mice, too. 3. The staff is attentive and prompt with responding to issues. I guess there is only so much they can do with the budget from corporate. read more

When we downsized, we moved here as a transition, with intention of moving. With all of the amenities of the pool, tennis courts, volley ball courts, basketball courts, and clubhouse; our son requested that we not move until he graduated from high school. He is now in his second year of college, but we too fell in love with the simplicity of life, living here offers. Having been homeowners we found: PROS: Snow Removal, Onsite maintenance, Landscaping, two car attached garage, (makes you feel like you are living alone, even though you are living in a community) and a helpful and friendly office staff that keeps an eye out when we are away on travel. Added bonus, Wonderful neighbors! CON: One of my wonderful neighbors (I miss since she moved) is Kathy S, who gave the review on mice. I was one of her neighbors who experienced that challenge with her. These were "field mice" that accessed a neighbors garage that she had filled with items for years, and when she moved the items for a summer rummage sale...who knew leaving your garage door open as we all did would allow us to gain these little guests! My wonderful neighbor Kathy, first helped, and maintenance was at my town home soon thereafter, the field mice were gone by weeks end. We have since downsized again, from a three bedroom to a two bedroom. The seven different floor-plans have offered the opportunity to now enjoy a ranch style, that offers wonderful light through the bay windows! "I love it" read more

I cannot recommend renting at Mequon Trail Townhomes. I recently rented a townhome there for six months. Upon signing the lease, I was guilted and upsold into signing a one year lease even though I wanted a six month lease because the agent felt it would be too much work to rewrite the lease. The area itself is very nice. Mequon is an easy commute into north Milwaukee. The complex is well taken care of on the outside. But the inside of the units tells another story. All of the plumbing fixtures are old and dated. The shower in my unit squeaked constantly because it was a cheap drop in that was installing incorrectly. The faucet in the downstairs half bath was so caked with calcium that it only trickled at full turn on. Cabinets and countertops in most units are dated, and the ones that have been updated have been done inexpensively with cheap materials. In the unit I rented, I could not even open the dishwasher and the cabinet next to it without re-installing the dishwasher properly myself. The units are not energy efficient. Their are large gaps in the insulation by all of the doors that cause drafts in the winter months. The windows are cheap single pane. I also had to pay a facility fee to use the pool and recreation center. I rented in September 2017. The pool closed the day I rented. One month later the recreation center closed for six months for renovations. How convenient. I got to pay for something I never used. They also decided to re-side all the units while I was living there. I worked nights. It was great to have hammering everyday while I tried to sleep. I worked a temporary job and it ended abruptly. I was forced to break that one year lease that I never wanted. That is a costly mistake. First it will cost you two months rent in the form of notice, even if you have to move. Then it will cost you another two months in a lease termination fee. So, if you rent one of their $1600/mo townhomes (way overpriced - look over in Menomonee Falls) and you have to break the lease, get ready to fork over $6400. And no they won't work with you. Yes, I am a disgruntled former resident who tried very hard to work with this management. They aren't bad townhomes, but there are better buys out there if you just look a little bit more. read more

We have felt well taken care of by the office and staff. The head maintenance guy is awesome! It is a very quiet neighborhood that seems to bring safety and comfort to your door. We have met some great people since our arrival and it is a very pet friendly area! Not to discourage anyone, but as in life--a bit of rain must fall.. We have come across some people that think that the townhome is their actual property! It is laughable because upon speaking to the office about this, they say that it is ridiculous for them to behave in such a way, but will be putting out a notice asap. That is the kind of attention the management offers and it makes me feel good to know it. This community is also filled with kids that seem to enjoy the parks and grounds. Overall a great place to live wether for a year or ten! read more

It is a fine apartment complex. I live in a middle, 2 story unit. I never required emergency maintenance but they fixed what I needed within 2 weeks the only time I called maintenance. The area is nice, and quiet. Snow plowing is fine. read more

1. Located in the middle of nowhere. 2. Cheap construction with little heat insulation so prepare to pay high energy bills all the year around. 3. Maintenance is slow and appliances are very old. 4. Insects (spiders, ants, etc) and mice were around and difficult to handle. 5. Not cheap for what it offers. 6. Be aware of contract loops; these are enforced with pleasure; so be prepared to pay for a month/two extra and fines. 7. Roads around are under construction all the time. Driving to Milwaukee is 30+ minutes; even for 5 MPH extra on these rural/construction roads prepare to pay a ticket. read more
