Dr. Fong is an expert. His team was luckily able to fit me in for an emergency the same day that I called. He took my student insurance, answered all my questions, took care of my issue in a timely manner, has professional and friendly, even funny, bedside manner, and was totally in his element when doing his thing. I don't need a great bedside manner to find my doctor adequate. In fact, if you want to be a huge asshole but save my life, please, PLEASE be my guest. Not that Dr. Fong saved my life, but he did do a good job removing a tricky basil cancer from the side of my nose. The surgery was really quick and Dr. Fong told me exactly what to expect pain/experience wise. In fact, I think that when doctors sugar coat the pain level, you end up thinking it was really painful. When they tell you exactly what you'll feel, even if it is painful, it ends up not being as bad as you think it will be. I had a few post-surgery complications. Mainly, the NewGel scar treatment cream that they gave me didn't work and made me break out with a small rash + get my scar slightly infected (kind of like a zit but in the scar tissue). I had to go back to Dr. Fong twice, but I don't think it had anything to do with his performance. After the second time I had to go back I was a bit peeved, I admit (hence minus one star) but I went to my Dermatologist for a second opinion and she said that the scar looked REALLY good, but I had a bump. She gave me a shot of Cortizone to reduce the swelling and now the scar looks great. When I went back to Dr. Fong the second time I told him I went to my dermatologist and about the Corizone. He said that he would have also recommended the Cortizone and perhaps even cosmetic lasers to help with the redness. Bedside manner, not so important. Keeping my face beautiful, mucho important. read more

Dr. Fong and his assistant, Jenny, are miracle workers! I went to Dr. Fong for an excision of a pre-cancerous mole b/c my dermatologist doesn't do a good job on those types of procedures (the final product looks like a gun-shot wound). It's been 3 weeks since my surgery and you can hardly see where the scar is! It's already flesh colored!! It's a clean line, no scabbing or scarring. Wow. Dr Fong did a first rate job removing a cyst on my back that required stitches. Fully healed in 2 weeks with no noticeable scarring. The staff was efficient in getting the usual insurance paper work done and wait time was minimal for all three of my visits. Some reviewers complained about his bedside manner, which I didn't have a problem with. I got the impression that Dr Fong was just trying to get me in and out ASAP while getting the job done right so that neither of us are wasting time. read more

I had broken my nose my sophomore year of college. I am not from New York, so getting a procedure seemed worrisome and uncomfortable. Danny has a great personality and seemed like the right way to go seeing that I had a deviated septum. He placed it back and never requested any follow ups. 3 years later (2 weeks ago - it took me THIS long to have this fixed again), I go to my hometown as my nose is still crooked and trouble breathing. If you looked up my nose, could definitely tell my septum was blocking my left breathing passage. I went to my father's doctor, his practice very well known in the greater Atlanta area. After my procedure, talked to me and my father about how the prior job was so poorly done, he had to break my nose in FOUR places to fix it. My current doctor has already requested to see me each week for the next 6 weeks to view my healing. read more

I was referred to Dr. Fong by NYU's medical center after I nearly chopped off my finger with a chef's knife in culinary class! He had to reattach my nailbed so that my fingernail would grow back properly. He did it right in the office in about 20 minutes and the nail on that finger is now the strongest one I have. I had a large cyst on my back and another one on my eyebrow. They gave me a quick appointment with almost no waiting in the office, on each visit. Dr. Fong was very nice, his team is pleasant and efficient too. He was clearly in his element, doing the little surgical procedures. The wounds are healing well and he's seeing me for follow-up to make sure everything's all right. They weren't familiar with my Medicare supplement but they did accept it. I went to Dr. Fong after electing to use my pinky to break a hard fall, resulting in it being dislocated in 1 place and outright (badly) fractured in 2 others. My husband, who is an MD but not a plastic surgeon or orthopedist, said the x-ray taken in urgent care looked very, very bad. (That assessment from someone who spent a year in surgery internship in an inner-City hospital known for treating gunshot and stab wounds.) Well, within a week, Dr. Fong was able to perform surgery to repair the injuries. A few weeks later, he performed another surgery to remove the pins. A year and multiple PT sessions and follow up appointments later, my hand is very nearly like new! It is nothing short of miraculous, given the severity of the injury in a very difficult site. Moreover, Dr. Fong's staff was friendly and efficient every step of the way, including verifying my (out-of-state) insurance coverage of my care. I highly recommend Dr. Fong! read more

Both my elderly Grandmother and I have been patients of Dr. Danny Fong. Dr. Fong is a highly skilled surgeon who does wonderful work. He is an attentive, compassionate, and caring doctor. I had a bad accident which caused 2 unsightly scars on my face. He performed reconstructive surgical procedures on the skin. There were no post-surgery complications and the results were amazing. His surgical assistant and office staff are very pleasant, professional, and accommodating. We just had the best experience! My 4 year old had cut her chin at the playground. A nearby mom took sympathy and recommended Dr. Fong to us. But I called our pediatrician and she recommended Dr. Fong as well! Well we went and just had the easiest time possible. My older son had had a terrible experience in the hospital emergency room last year and I was prepared for the worst. I have been meaning to write a review on Dr Fong for a month or so...I decide to do it tonight and I read a REALLY bad review? JUST NOT POSSIBLE! For starters, I scar horribly and first met Dr Fong a few years back when he fixed a scar on my arm that had started to hurt every time it was bumped because it didn't quite heal correctly and had grown to about half an inch wide and 1/3 of an inch high. I was VERY happy with the FLAT and thin pencil line scar that is barely visable that Dr Fong replaced my old scar with. And now when I bump my arm...I feel nothing, no pain, almost like it never had been cut open. Then one of my daughters hit her head at school on the bottom of a slide. The school called me, I went and looked at it and the cut seemed to be a little bloody...but looked like a scrape. Then when my daughter washed her hair at around 5:00 that afternoon. I looked at the "scrape" again and it looked like a piece of meat that had been sliced open. I knew it needed stitches. I called Dr Fong's office at about 5:45 and he was still there, plannng on leaving any moment I was told, but he stayed till we got there... My daughter was HYSTERICAL and Dr Fong started asking her about school, if she liked Dora, Barbies...princesses...he found a common ground, calmed her right down and sewed her up. We were out of the office in less than half an hour with around 10 stiches. He couldn't have been more professional and was simply LOVELY in the way he treated my daughter. The last time I saw Dr Fong was about 6 months ago. My dermatologist said a BIG "age spot" had to be removed because it had changed and started to bleed when I scratched it...on my cheek... ON MY FACE!!! So I went to Dr Fong. I scar horribly as I said and the thought of an inch long scar ON MY FACE made me cringe! Dr Fong was patient, kind and really explained to me that he was gong to remove the spot and try to make the cut where my laugh lines are... AGAIN, I SCAR HORRIBLY... I was a wreck with the thought I'd live forever with a HUGE scar on my face. Result now after six months: I have a VERY thin line that you can't even see in the middle of my cheek and Dr Fong said it would really disappear in around 4 to 6 months...and it did. Dr Fong is GOOD. I have had three experiences with him. He is kind, attentive, compassionate when need be and the results speak for themselves. My insurance company is the cheapest there is I am sure because they question EVERYTHING. I never got any paperwork back from them on any of the three times claims that were submitted. So that is my "review" for what it is worth. I think Dr Fong is a REALLY good doctor and have recommended several friends to him. All of my friends have had similar experiences as well. Not trying to "sell" him...but he is REALLY GOOD at what he does and his office is clean, organized and professional. read more

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Worst Doctor - Nickname unavailable - Today Dr. Fong was recommended to me by two excellent doctors who regard him highly, so I was very surprised to find my experience with Dr. Fong one of the very worst. He has no bedside manners, enters the room after you have waited for him for a long time as if you have already begun to waste his time, seems agitated before you ask him the first question or define your condition. He is uneasy and wants to get the visit over with as soon as possible; you have to work hard to try to get him to communicate with you. He took an x-ray, charged my insurance company about $1,100 for the x-ray and one office visit. His office visits are about $350; therefore, one x-ray cost $750. He quoted a very high price to perform in-office surgery so I went to pick up the x-ray from his office to see another. I was not permitted to take my x-ray, only a terrible XEROX. The front desk asst. tried to refuse to make a better photocopy. The doctor that performed surgery looked at Dr. Fong's xerox and laughed. He had to take x-rays all over again. Danny Fong bloats his prices, is rude and seems entirely uninterested in his patients or their welfare. It is illegal to withhold x-rays from patients who have paid for them. For $350 a visit patients should be treated with respect and care. read more

I went to Dr. Fong as a second opinion Dr. It was immanent: I had to have surgery for DeQuervain Syndrome (Painful thumb and wrist). I'm a Teacher for the Deaf, so the use of my hands is paramount. Once I walked in the office, I knew I felt confortable. The staff at the front desk is friendly , respectful and efficient. The waiting time was less than 15 minutes every time I went (not enough time to read through the great magazines in the beatiful waiting room!). Dr. Fong performed the surgery in a extra clean and organized office with state of the art equipment. The scarr is bearly notisable and my deaf students can understand me better. Dr. Danny Fong is one of the best plastic surgeons we have visited. I have three boys and have seen doctor Fong many times for my children's various lacerations. He was magical with my 5 year old son who required many stitches over his eye brow, and extremely gentle with my 3 year old son who needed stitches on his lip. In both instances Dr Fong was absolutely amazing, not to mention that there are no visible scars! He has a calm, gentle demeanor with kids and makes them feel safe and secure. don't ever come to see danny fong for mole removal! he is the worst surgeon ever! i went in to get my mole remove back in january of 2011 because i heard great reviews from him. i had a mole on my leg that wasnt that big but wanted to remove it because i didnt like how noticeable it was. he told me it will heal fine and my scars wont be noticeable. wtf liar it got infected to the point where its so itchy. i coulnt take it anymore so i went back a year later to tell him hoping it would healed by then but found out they didnt take my insurance anymore. so when i heard they take my insurance now i went back to tell him and showed him what he had done to my leg. he was embarrassed of his work and instead of saying sorry he blamed my skin for not healing well. and that maybe i didnt wear sunscreen that is why the scar is dark. are you kidding me?!? i always wear sunscreen to protect it from it getting darker. how the hell are you going to blame the patient for your mistake! i went there for nothing and on top of that they charged me double my copay. i was suppose to pay $20 and they charged me $40. i didnt realize until i got my medical statements. so i went back there to tell them and they said sorry and will pay back the money. it has been two months since and i heard nothing from them. im extremely piss right now. i cant believe anyone would give him a license to become a surgeon. worst experience ever! and the receptionist are ruse and dont know what they are doing what so ever. read more
