Not even a sprinkler! We've done 6 sessions and she can already jump in the pool, climb out, go under water, swim to her instructor, and float on her back! The location is the old site of the GW Carver Primary School which has been relocated to a new site/facilities... Anyway you have to stop into this place once a year to provide residency verification to show your kid is allowed to attend Ascension Parish schools...you'd be surprised at how many people that live out of Ascension Parish try and sneak their kids into Ascension schools... So the staff at RVTO are there to do verification as well as random checks throughout the school years on people suspected of gaming the system...if they catch you I've heard the consequences can be severe... That's pretty much all that can be said for this part of the school system...

I was initially very pleased to see that this was a Black-owned business and was glad to support…read morethem. I enrolled my daughter in their driving course, and our first experience was positive. Jennifer's husband, who taught the first session, was professional, patient, and accommodating. He guided my daughter well and answered her questions thoroughly. Unfortunately, the following sessions with Jennifer were the complete opposite. My daughter had already expressed concerns after the written exam, describing her as belligerent and unprofessional. Jennifer yelled at people who failed the test. When we arrived for the driving lesson, Jennifer was 20 minutes late, offered no greeting or apology, and walked straight inside. After the lesson, she approached my car without saying hello and immediately criticized my daughter, saying she was a terrible driver and didn't follow directions. She was so angry and I was thinking, "Is this lady okay? She must be going thru something because my daughter is very polite." This was discouraging, as we had enrolled her precisely to learn how to drive and receive proper guidance. My daughter shared afterward that Jennifer often ignored her questions and provided little instruction. Due to this experience, I decided we would not continue with the school. I texted the number provided to explain that my daughter was upset and had not received proper instruction in the last session. The response offered to reschedule her with Jennifer's husband, which I agreed to. However, they also claimed we had missed a class and charged us a $75 no-show fee. On the day of the rescheduled lesson, we discovered my daughter was not on the schedule at all. I raised the issue, pointing out that this should not count as a no-show because they scheduled us previously and we weren't on the schedule. Jennifer's husband agreed but explained that only his wife handled such matters. When I finally spoke with Jennifer directly, she refused to discuss the situation professionally. She repeatedly asked, "Are you going to pay or not?" and refused to have a conversation. I ended up paying the fee simply so my daughter could complete her course, though the experience was very unpleasant. Later, Jennifer's husband contacted me, to say there had been mistakes with the paperwork, and asked if I could drive back over there. Absolutely not! He ended up coming to my home to correct it. He sincerely apologized for his wife's behavior and promised to return the $75, though that never happened. He said that they had discussed removing her from the driving course. In summary, while the husband was professional, respectful, and clearly cares about the students, Jennifer was consistently unprofessional, rude, and dismissive. Unfortunately, this overshadowed any positives. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this driving school. Families would be better served by seeking instruction in Baton Rouge or through their local high school's driver's education program.
