My son has been attending Brighton for the past two years (coming from another private school) and…read moreit's made an amazing difference in him. We are so lucky to have this school in Baton Rouge. My son's teachers are of the highest caliber and because the classes are smaller, they can spend extra time with him and not go on until he "gets it". The two biggest reasons children come are for Reading and Math. He never sits there confused, lost in the shuffle, unlike before. He has gone from C's and D's to A's and B's which we knew he was capable of, but also because he finally understands the material. Our goal from day one was to get him back to where the rest of his peers are and transfer back to our original school where his siblings are. This school is very understanding and know that's what most children do. They don't offer sports (extra curr. act., etc.) in grades K-6 b/c that's not what they are about. They do offer them in high school. Also, most children are only there "temporarily" until they are ready to go back to their home school. This is our last year, as he is going back to his original school next year. If, (for any reason), your child doesn't go back to their original school, they still offer K-12. Many people choose to stay because they (and the child) like it so much. I was also very surprised to see how many "well-known" people have a child there. Yes, it's expensive, but worth every penny! If your child is struggling, needs "a little more", and you are not ready to give up on your "home school", this is the vert best thing you can do for him/her. You will never regret it!!
