This is my very first salon coloring experience and I was very scared. They could either do an amazing job or screw it up. I didn't want to be one of those customers that threw a tantrum about my hair. Because my hair is pretty much my life. I went in for a consultation and Kari was extremely sweet. She seemed to understand what I wanted so I trusted her and made an appointment. When I went in for my appointment, she got started immediately. She is an extremely friendly and sweet person. I don't think I've ever had such a nice conversation with a hair stylist ever. Long story short, she made my hair look absolutely A-MAZING. My hair feels healthy, comfortable, and the color is exactly how I wanted it to be. Oh, she also gives one killer head massage. It might've been to rub the shampoo in but still, it felt great! I got a balayage and it was $100. I think it was completely worth the money. As an Asian with pretty much virgin black hair, I noticed that while I was there for the 2 hours, I was still the only Asian. I'm not saying they are racist, but, if you are Asian and looking for a good salon, this salon will take care of your dark hair. Trust me. They know what they are doing. I'm definitely coming back to get my hair colored whenever I'm back in Seattle.

It had been twice the time between my usual cuts, so I understood that a stylist might have to use her imagination to picture the "overall vibe" of my cut when freshly styled. Though some clients were happy with Winslow, the percent of appalling reviews from clients scared me away. I chose a different but equally unknown Kirkland salon from those posting on YELP. While my cut there wasn't perfect, I did at least get a boring version of what I requested -- a style cut short and flat against my head on the left side, gradually lengthening in the back like a short rounded cap that hugged my head and tapered to the nape of the neck, and left long on the right side of my head but shaped to encourage the resulting deep wavy locks to hang languidly over and shade that side of my face. Like, drama. The stylist followed my instructions literally, but she failed artistically to create the look, or mood, I wanted. At least she did a decent job rather than ruin my hair, as too many clients in reviews of Winslow had complained. How hard is it to find a stylist who actually listens to what clients say.

She was able to color correct a botched job at another place. She was super detailed in getting all of my hair foiled without leaving gaps (even the underneath) which is not easy to do. She gave me a beautiful blended blonde with the "money piece" (light piece in the front) exactly how I asked. She also did an amazing hair cut that frames my face so well. The best hair color, cut, and demeanor I have ever experienced when getting my hair done. She is also very kind, patient, listens to what the customer wants, and makes the whole experience very stress free and comfortable. She is also very fair and honest with the pricing. Thank you so much for doing such an incredible job on my hair!

I was referred to this salon via a Bellevue mom's page and then Clark (the owner) recommended Jung via Instagram. Two days prior to my appointment, I messaged Jung and we spoke about what I was looking to achieve. I was all over the place with what I wanted and Jung was able to decipher what I wanted AND needed thoroughly - all via text! I was so impressed. From the moment I arrived at Clark Beauty Evolved, Jung met me with enthusiasm, cheer and a true sense of calm. She was very genuine and I could tell instantly that she cared for her clients. Throughout my time at the salon, Jung peppered our conversations with hair care knowledge, facts and ways to help improve my hair. I have NEVER had a hair dresser help me in this way before. She gave me usable knowledge to further the longevity and strength of my hair. It wasn't pushy at all and came from a space of care. I felt that Jung was well studied in her knowledge and she was passionate about her job. I brought 2 books into the salon and even made sure my headphones were charged. Never touched it once lol Jung entertained my chatty self and in other moments, she allowed me to relax in my own space and silence. Leaving the salon, I felt a sense of privilege. I felt privileged to crossed paths with this wonderful woman who so happens to be a hairdresser (hopefully my hairdresser for years to come). Best of all, my hair color was gorgeous. Also, if life gets busy and the color fades, I can go for a little longer between sessions and I look like a regular greying person. Try it, you'l love it if you have given up on coloring your hair because of the stark white roots and maintenance challenges. Breanna took the time to ask for what I wanted and her energy is very calming and that helped me to decide I could take on this "grey fade" with confidence. Also, a shout out to all women with curly, kinky hair needs - my son has super, thick, wavy long hair and he really struggles to not let it get frizzy and puffy. Breanna knew how to de-puff it down and taught him how to how to style his wavy hair. While I was in my chair by the glass door a woman stopped in their tracks. She came in to pick up a card from Breanna because they were so excited to see stylist on the Eastside suburbs who had a gorgeous Afro. I trust a stylist who knows how to make themselves look good and its great to support someone who can do the full range of hair types, including Black hair. All the stylists at Salon Unmixed and their customers look happy whenever I am there. I like the music they play (thanks Keoni) and the use and availability of the awesome Aveda products are always a plus.

I'm what you might call lazy when it comes to my hair. I want it to look good, but I don't want to put much effort into it. I expect my cut to do the work for me, which in the past has meant frequent appointments. I showed up for my first appointment with Adrienne with no real plan. I asked for: "Something a little edgy, no shorter than my chin, that won't require much maintenance. I'd love some layers and highlights or something. Also, I've got a lot going on right now and it'd be great if this cut could last me awhile." Adrienne gave me a layered bob, shorter in back and longer in front. For highlights, I got a balange, which I'd never heard of and may have misspelled. I left looking awesome and feeling great. That was in March. March! It's now October, and my hair still looks good. It's longer than I'd like, but that's the only issue. That is amazing, especially with color involved. A friend had the same highlight process thingy done elsewhere, and looked like she had a line around her head after a month. I look like I recently moved from somewhere sunnier - no line, its just darker at the roots than at the tips. I could not be happier. I'll be making my next appointment for a cut and color soon. read more

I just had the best haircut and color ever with Adrienne! I was looking for someone new and took the recommendation of a friend. I was thinking of trying something new and fun with extra color but was worried about looking professional at the same time. Adrienne really listened and gave great suggestions. Once we decided on a plan she talked me through it all and was really easy and fun to talk with. Her salon is cozy and relaxing. I am in love with my new bob and fun color. I saw Adrienne today for the first time after a friend swore by her talents. I have been looking for a new stylist since I moved to Kirkland and have been through so many and never returned. I am happy to say that I have found my new stylist! To say that Adrienne is a talented young woman is a complete understatement. Adrienne is absolutely wonderful! I have been going to her ever since she started in beauty school and I have yet to leave even slightly disappointed to this day. Along with being incredibly talented she is also patient and willing to work with you in order to find exactly what you want. I highly recommend Merakii Salon. Adriene took my dry, damaged, over-colored hair that I was so unhappy with and turned me into a natural looking blonde. I always leave the salon feeling amazing. Adrienne has been doing my hair color for over a year, and she has perfected the most beautiful combination of root color with two highlights, usually doing Balayage which makes it look very natural. My hair is dark brown so it's difficult to highlight and not make it look brassy but she knows exactly what to do! Sadly, I didn't get the opportunity as she cancelled my appointment 20 min before it was scheduled to start because "she woke up from a nap and didn't feel well". I have been seeing Adrienne now for a few years and I don't trust anyone else with my hair. It's been awesome to see her grow as a stylist. My layers are always cut perfectly so that my natural curls dry without looking choppy. I also recommend her for color as she's done my ombre, always blended well.
