Located in the Redmond Town Center, this Gene Juarez salon is easy to find with plenty of parking in the shopping center lot right outside its entrance. Since I visit the Bellevue location, I've seen Gene Juarez go through its renovation and more updated salon space. However, at this Redmond one, this was not the case here. It's still very much the same Gene Juarez with the brown and taupe aesthetics. And unlike its Bellevue location, they had free Seattle Chocolates truffles for guests! I had an all over color with partial highlights and the stylist I saw was able to look up my file and easily replicate what was done before. She was super friendly and fun to chat with and I would happily see her again, especially since I'm in the area a lot. Gene Juarez never fails and this is very much the case at this Redmond location. Staff was friendly. Booking was easy. And the location is convenient. You can't go wrong here.

It had been twice the time between my usual cuts, so I understood that a stylist might have to use her imagination to picture the "overall vibe" of my cut when freshly styled. While my cut there wasn't perfect, I did at least get a boring version of what I requested -- a style cut short and flat against my head on the left side, gradually lengthening in the back like a short rounded cap that hugged my head and tapered to the nape of the neck, and left long on the right side of my head but shaped to encourage the resulting deep wavy locks to hang languidly over and shade that side of my face. Like, drama. The stylist followed my instructions literally, but she failed artistically to create the look, or mood, I wanted. At least she did a decent job rather than ruin my hair, as too many clients in reviews of Winslow had complained. How hard is it to find a stylist who actually listens to what clients say.

As an Asian with pretty much virgin black hair, I noticed that while I was there for the 2 hours, I was still the only Asian.
