Their customer service, delivery options, grooming services, and consistently positive attitudes have completely won me--and my dog--over! They always have what I need, and on the rare occasion they don't, they make sure to get it for us. Their groomer, Veronica, is fantastic. She takes extra care with my dog, Puddin, even putting cotton in her ears before a bath to help prevent infections. They also offer a convenient self-wash station if you prefer to bathe your dog yourself. And the reserved parking out front? A total lifesaver. Super convenient and always appreciated. i came to fishtown to try something new for my pup... i scheduled an appointment over 2 weeks ago…read more my appointment was then canceled and i was forced to reschedule. i came in and drop my dog off today at his rescheduled time which was 1pm. he is a very small dog so he doesn't require much time. i was never give a time for pick up. i called them after wait 2 hours and they still never gave me a pick up time until i started pressing the employee for one. she came back on the line and told me it would be another 2 and half hours. for a small poodle/Pomeranian mix to be with a groomer for 4+ hours is insane. i was then connected to the store owner who was very rude and disrespectful. i told her what happen and she then decided to tell me that they are training another groomer which is why they are taking long as well as juggling other dog. from what i have learned about ham + bone fishtown is that they overbook dogs which takes longer for them to actually get groomed. they had one groomer downstairs when i went to talk to her with one in training. i told her this isn't the first time this has happened from other reviews i have read and after calling her out on the issue said "i'm not going to let you slander my business" and hung up the phone on me. terrible place, don't waste your money or your time here. very unprofessional behavior coming from a store owner! she also demanded that i come pick up my dog in the condition he is in currently which is not groomed! he got in my car with a wet butt and head. this resulted in wet poop getting on my car.

I asked if there were still angelfish in the tank, and she didn't even bother to look and just said there weren't any. I told her I could see one in there, and only then did she check. After that, she started questioning me: "How many gallons is your tank?" I answered 44 gallons, and she smirked, saying she had never heard of a 44-gallon tank! Then she asked how many fish I had, and when I said 5 angelfish, she flatly refused to sell me the fish. Her attitude was extremely poor. It seemed clear that she noticed I wasn't a native speaker, since my English isn't perfect, and that made her treat me even worse. Meanwhile, I have owned and cared for many fish with multiple tanks at home. My fish are always healthy and well taken care of. Being treated as if I was irresponsible felt completely unfair and very disrespectful. This experience only reinforces why I will support local fish stores instead -- where staff are knowledgeable, respectful, and truly care about the animals. I will never buy fish here again.

When I walked in I was greeted by no one and I'm pretty sure staff saw me because the store is small as all get out. It's a personal thing. I digress. They had a lot of options for all kinds of pet babies and it was almost like a little corner store for all of your pet needs. I did pick up a few things for my little one but I could stand for some more affordable items and more variety. Will I go back? Not go out of my way to get there but if I needed anything I'd check them out again.

I've been here twice and saved quite few dollars compared to what I use to spend at Petco. I'm not sure if they offer and services, but they did have a few cats in the window for adoption! I was only looking for store credit, as I've spent more than $1K as a customer there, and they wouldn't do it. I don't understand why you'd sell products you don't stand behind. Other pet stores in the area have way better policies, and just as good of selection. I'll only shop at Ham and Bone down the street from here on out.

Their customer service was top notch, and while my girl is stocked in alpacas for the next few years, I wouldn't hesitate to go back for a gift alpaca for another pup, or more toys to make my girl happy.
