I cannot say enough awesome things about this place…read more I have slowly been collecting broken jewelry over the past year or so - I have a pretty bad habit of tugging on my necklaces when I go out, annnnnd then, surprisingly enough, somehow they seem to just break! I knew the repairs to my four necklaces were pretty easy, plus these weren't expensive necklaces, so I was dreading going into a jewelry store and paying ridiculous amounts of money to fix a chain. I emailed around to my coworkers, and one suggested the Bead Boutique. Gathering my poor broken necklaces up, I headed over there one lunch break. The store is, perhaps unsurprisingly, filled with beads. There are also tables set up so that you can make your own jewelry, if you so desire. I showed my necklaces to one of the workers, who promptly got out her tools and went to work, assuring me it wouldn't be more than ten minutes. I dutiful wandered around the store - I had zerooooooo idea there were so many kinds of beads. The lady fixed all but one of my necklaces in about 5 minutes, and then took nearly an hour on the last one. I was getting a little irritated and a little tired of beads, and needed to get back to work (just wait, there is a reason for the 5 stars!). Finally, she was done - apologizing for how long it took and carefully polishing the necklace. She then rang me up. $2.92. That's right folks, for one hour of work and four fixed necklaces, I paid less than $3...and that was just for the two sterling silver beads needed to fix one of my pieces. Three of my necklaces were repaired for FREE - and they offered to teach me how! Stunned, I asked if I COULD pay them more (I know) - she turned me down. Apparently there is a $5/hour labor fee, but she said since it was her fault, she wasn't charging me. This fee really only comes into play when they're making jewelry for you. I will never go anywhere else again to fix my jewelry. The Bead Boutique also offers a lot of beading classes, and every Friday has a free class (you just buy the beads). I'm definitely tempted, if for nothing else than because they helped me out so much.

She can help you fix an old rocking chair or help you with an idea you pinned on Pinterest. When I got married in 2013, I needed chalkboards for the center pieces of my tables. I went in and told Trudee what I needed. Lucky for me she had just started making them to sell in the shop. I bought one on the spot and told her what sizes and shapes I needed. I returned back just before we were married to find that she got me exactly what I needed and her shop was now filled with chalkboard with fun colors and made from old frames. We recently brought an old kids rocking chair to her, it's been in the family for 30+ years. She let my son pick the color he wanted and we picked it up a couple weeks later looking brand new, and green. It's not uncommon for me to stop down and see what fun items she's found or made. Stop down and snag a jar of her wine, she makes it herself.

I recommend the weekdays, as each time we have gone during the week there is no issue with crowding. The only thing is the daycare field trips are there before lunchtime over the summer, so plan accordingly. We packed a lunch and ate on the tailgate in the parking lot. No food is available for purchase on site. Not an issue for us though.
