Family-owned business! My boyfriend and I recently began shopping for my bridal set. I came across Taylor Made Jewelry in my online search for local jewelry shops in the Akron, Ohio area and am very glad we gave it a shot. When we arrived at the store, both of the sales consultants were busy. A man working in the back of the store came to front and began helping us in our search. Todd, our consultant, explained to us what characteristics (cut, color, clarity, carat) to look for in a diamond and showed us examples of diamonds with various characteristics. I proceeded to show him what I was looking for in my mounting (band) set and he showed me what they had in the store. When I wasn't really finding what I was looking for (I had brought pictures with me), he retrieved a couple of catalogs from the back and looked through them with me. Todd explained that if I saw something I liked in those catalogs, that the store could get those rings from the company (free of charge for me) so I could come back and see them in person. After looking through said catalogs, I had picked out 3 that he planned to order so I could come back at a later date. He explained that I could also custom-make a ring, if I still didn't find something I liked. Todd was also very honest in terms of the price points of high-quality, certified diamonds. My boyfriend and I explained our financial situation to him, as we are college students, and Todd made us feel very comfortable during this discussion. He discussed the man-made diamond, moissanite, could be an option for us for the time being, as it is much cheaper, and a couple of years down the road we could come back and replace the moissanite diamond for a real one when we are financially ready. This option is very ideal for us as we are trying to save as much money as possible before we begin our life's journey together. (Note: If you buy your center diamond at this location, they automatically give you 25% off the diamond, plus 25% off anything else you buy for the wedding. I.e. Engagement band, wedding band/s, gifts for bridal party, etc.) I should make it clear that Todd is not a sales consultant, but provided us with amazing service. He spent nearly 2 hours with us and explained that none of the sales team works on commission. I was very impressed with his patience for my boyfriend and me and am looking forward to continue working with him and TMJ in my search for my bridal set. I recently upgraded my ring and have inquired at a few places to find out how long it will take. A jewelry store down the road from me in Tallmadge was very rude to me and basically discouraged me from taking it there! This was my first time visiting Taylor Made Jewelry. My husband had heard the advertisement on the radio and thought that we should visit this place to look for a replacement band for my original engagement ring. The ring had some bent prongs and had become worn out over time. On our 16th anniversary we went into Taylor Made and looked around. We were approached by a lovely and friendly lady named Megan. We found the setting that we liked pretty quickly. We had been to several places before this store and had not found anything that we liked. The selection here was outstanding. I have never seen such beautiful jewelry in one place. Megan helped me pick out the perfect ring for my diamond, she was absolutely wonderful and professional. They knew it was our anniversary and they had the whole ring finished in less than an hour! It was so unbelievable. The finished product was stunning. I was in shock at how beautiful the ring looked. I would definitely return to this store again. they also have beautiful watches, necklaces, earrings, and rings of all styles. The service was terrific (especially from Megan) and the store is easy to get to from many locations. This is a class act business! read more
