Great doc. Unsafe facility for crips. "Team" can't refill a standing prescription to save my life.

Honestly the only reason I come to this facility is because my PCP is here and I've been his patient since before I had need for specialists. He's amazing and would get five stars on his own. Unfortunately... the rest of the place leaves something to be desired. The front desk staff is overwhelmingly Christian, which is perhaps to be expected from a pseudo-Catholic hospital affiliate. I'm sure that's great for their mental health, if not their eternal souls, but it does leave one with the issues one generally has with loudly-Christian folk, including self-righteousness, ableism, and homophobia. They've recently taken down the "inspirational" (read: prejudiced) printouts wallpapering many cubicles so we'll see how that goes. I have not had much luck here with specialists: My wife, a friend, and I have been refused exams (by different doctors) because of being overweight. I was told "fat people have pain" as if I am too stupid to tell the difference between mild arthritis and a displaced kneecap. Whoopsie! My wife was accused of drug-seeking after a brutal car accident; I got the same from a different doctor because I worked at a pharmacy for years and used the word "drug" instead of "medication" to describe my super-exciting and TOTALLY recreational cholesterol and blood pressure meds. Despite a pair of vicious surgery scars, I was informed that the surgery I had didn't exist. After I paid out of pocket for copies of 24-year-old paper medical records from a non-affiliated hospital, the doctor acknowledged that I had had the surgery but I just didn't know the right name for it. She refused to tell me the "correct" name. I could go on, and I could name names, but the bottom line is that this is a PERVASIVE issue in the culture of the practice. Patients are treated more like enemy combatants than partners in healthcare. There is a saying or belief in Baltimore about doctors. You go to Hopkins if you're good enough You go to University of Maryland if you can stand the politics You go to Mercy if you can stand the religious culture You go to GBMC if you can't stand either You go to MedStar if no one else will hire you ...Overlea just so often fails to live up to Mercy's place on that list. read more

I had a appointment today at 3:30pm . I got there & had a $60 co pay just for them to take my blood pressure... . What a waste of money and my time . read more

I've been going here for over 10 years and always had good experiences. Last summer, however, my primary care doctor left the practice and I was assigned another doctor. When l didn't like the new doc, I asked to switch to one of the doctors I had used in the past. I was not allowed to switch. I was not given the same courtesy as a new patient. read more

After waiting 13 days for the appointment, I waited 1 hour and 12 minutes past the appointment time with my 91 year old mother to see a smug orthopedic doctor. In his defense, he seemed competent in the diagnosis. We also have waited over an hour on a couple occasions to see her internist, also at Overlea Personal Physicians and also competent. read more

The wait time is outrageous and no communication is given to let you know that you will be waiting 40 minutes to be seen. Once you're seen you are rushed through. Not recommended for young adults looking for a PCP. read more

I like this facility. It is sort of like an "all in one" medical space. My internist, my eye doctor, and my dermatologist are all located here. It was once a supermarket, so there is plenty of parking too. Very convenient to have everything in one spot! I just wish their blood work group took my company's health insurance, that would push this into a five star rating! read more

Care is good. Facility is clean. I do not like waiting 45 minutes to be seen my the doctor. The staff should let those waiting know that the doctor is running behind. read more

Dr. Michael Zang has been my primary care physician since 2002? 2003? When he moved his practice to Baltimore, I followed him because I hate hospitals, ERs, medical testing and health providers in general. Following a car wreck in 1996, my health issues became "complicated." I ended up in the ER almost weekly and was hospitalized almost monthly. Did I mention I hate being poked, prodded or talking about my health? Since Michael Zang became my primary care provider, I rarely go to the ER. I started seeing him weekly. Now I make 6 month appointments and end up seeing him 2 to 4 times a year. I drive to Baltimore to see Dr. Michael Zang because he keeps me alive and out of the flippin' hospital &/or the ER. I find him competent, caring and willing to spend the time doing research to make sure I stay out of the hospital. I do medical testing when I can't get out of it and should do better than I do. I still don't "Like" medical care but he makes it fairly painless all things considered. read more

I got there early and this was my first time coming. When it was time to pay my co-pay they didn't have change so I had to go down the street to get change. After all of that I waited to be seen and I was then told they would not see me because I took to long and the time went into my appointment. I just don't think anyone should be treated that way. Especially a new patient. On top of everything some of the staff make you feel like you are bothering them. I'm looking for a new place to be seen. read more

assembly line like care, long waits and prescription request take several tries and constant calls. Incompetent personal service

Horrible! My husband has been a patient of Dr. Martin's for over 15 years. Called yesterday morning at 11 to get an appointment or a prescription refilled for gout that Dr. Martin diagnosed my husband with over 5 years ago. Receptionist said it was "on his prescription list" and then proceeded to tell me that she would send "a note" back to Dr. Martin regarding refilling the prescription. Waited all day, called pharmacy at 4:30...no prescription called in. Called pharmacy again today, no prescription. Called Overlea physicians back and was told my husband needed to come in for an appointment! Really???? Needless to say, my husband will NEVER go back to those incompetent morons again! read more
