I called in December to request authorization from my doctor for supplies for my CPAP machine ( filters, tubes, masks etc.). Which was approved quickly. I also spoke to Elena at Mercy Plaza Respiratory, which is how I found out that I had not gotten any supplies since last March. Elena called and left a message for me on January 7, asking for me to call her back. I have been using this business for a few years now and had no problems. Later that morning I got the notice that my request had been approved. So I assumed everything was fine. But my supplies never arrived. I called her last Friday but was informed that she was out of the office and would not return until the first of this week. So I left a message and assumed that my supplies would be arriving. I call today and spoke to Elena. She told me that she had had someone call me in January which is not correct. When I asked what more information she could possibly need and that nothing had changed from my previous orders she got angry and said that she was canceling my order and hung up on me. Funny tho I called my insurance who then called my doctor for a new order and right away they knew who I was complaining about. So I guess the word is getting out. Elena had everything she needed to fill my order. But she chose not to. So IF Elena is the gatekeeper you may not get your supplies and be treated badly. I would give zero stars if I could. read more

My doctor referred me here. I was here before it even opened, I kept checking the time, then the staff showed up late. I stayed in the car trying to give them a few minutes to settle in and get things going. After I go in everyone is grouped together laughing talking making jokes and playing with their phones. They looked at me walk in but kept doing what they were doing until I said something. Then the excuse was hey we're just getting our morning laughs in blah blah blah. Yeah but you were already late and then didn't even acknolowdge a customer. They didn't really give me the professional vibes at all. Hope I don't have to go back. read more

My 2 year old English bulldog was sent home from her vet , but she needed to be on oxygen, Vet faxed in our Rx 10min before they closed , I arrived 4min before, Regardless of the time, the staff was SO awesome and got me in and out with my equipment, Unfortunately, our Willow only lasted 5 hours , The inexperienced Vet had over sedated a overheated Bulldog ! when I returned with the equipment about 17 hours later, they were shocked and then when we explained why , they promptly refunded our money, and gave us emotional support, and it was so appreciated, another wonderful lady, who helped with our rental, was at lunch, upon her return and told of the circumstances, she sent us a personal text message of condolences and prayers, SO TO US , They are an 11 with 5 BIG STARS and the wirefamily thank them ALL , beyond what words can express ! My insurance paired me up with Mercy Plaza Respiratory in order to obtain a nebulizer machine for my toddler. The staff was amazing from the first phone call - totally on top of it. Tiffany followed through with my insurance and got the machine approved with a quickness. I went in this afternoon to pick the machine up and loved that they ordered a pediatric panda bear one- little details like that matter, especially when your toddler is scared of breathing treatments. This was a five star experience from the moment Heather answered the phone. My doctor gave me a prescription for a nebulizer compressor device, you know - the kind of machine you use to do breathing treatments at home when you have asthma. I called several different pharmacies and none of them carried the machine I needed. When I called Mercy Plaza Respiratory & Medical Supplies, Heather knew just what I needed; she was able to quote me a cash price, but told me that if I would bring my insurance card with me they would be happy to call my insurance and verify what portion the insurance would pay. She gave me the address and I headed right over to the Southeast corner of 34th and K. Five stars for being super friendly and helpful. Heather was helping someone else when I arrived, but a gentleman came out of the back and took my paperwork. Five minutes later he came back out front with it and told me that Heather would help me when she was done. I wandered around to see what else they carried and saw that it was quite a variety of merchandise. There were walkers and canes, in all different shapes and sizes, everywhere. There were walkers with seats and walkers at all different heights. There were canes with seats (Hey, don't judge, it's nice to have your own seat with you!). There was everything you need to outfit your bathroom for elderly or handicapped people: grab bars, bath mats, toilet seat risers, and hand held shower heads. There were splints and supports for just about every body part: wrists, elbows, shoulder, ankles, knees, back, chest, neck, even posture supports. Before Heather was available, the gentleman brought out my compressor device and started showing me how to use it. He had already processed me in the back and had papers to sign. When Heather was finished she started to run my insurance and he told her not to worry, he'd already finished. I was in and out of there in almost no time at all. Such a wonderful place. The KINDEST reception ever, helped me out even though I came in last minute literally.. I came in because my dog needed oxygen, the next day I brought the tank back with a defeated look, they immediately sat me down, the manager or owner of the building was talked to and immediately recommended we be compensated. We were treated so well, one of the sweet ladies we talked to wasn't present, she ended up sending our condolences after we had left... incredible service, infact service isn't even a good enough word, personable, kind, caring. Our pup was struggling with breathing and desperately needed oxygen. Mercy Plaza Respiratory was 2 minutes away from closing and they welcomed us in immediately and got us what we needed. Unfortunately, a couple hours later, our baby passed away. We returned the oxygen we rented the following day. They were all very inquisitive to why we were returning our oxygen less than 24hrs after we rented it. Upon finding out about our tragic loss, they made us come sit inside while they completely refunded our money. One of the ladies that helped us was out on lunch while we were there. When she returned to the office, my dad received a text message from her personal phone sending her love and apologizing for our loss. The customer service we received from this place in one of our darkest times will never be forgotten. read more

This is one of those companies that has no regard for the customer's time. I have walked in this store and have been the ONLY customer in the store, and they manage to make me wait. Yes, they have a core group of customers needing the speciality items they provide, I understand that. But they could provide some timely service. Or not! I went here on the recommendation of my doctor for a pair of compression hose. I told the woman who helped me that I wanted calf high, light compression, and in beige. We guessed at the size because the sales lady did not measure my calves, and I did not know the measurement. All of their Activa products were on sale for 50% off, with a sign stating there were no refunds or exchanges. The sales lady took the hose to the counter where I paid for them. Just as I was signing my charge slip, my husband noticed that the hose I was buying were white, not beige. We called this to the sales lady's attention, and she went to the display and eventually handed me a pair that were beige and my size and correct compression. Thinking everything was O.K. we went home. The next morning I went to put the hose on, and to my surprise discovered these were thigh high, with ruffled lace tops. Not what I wanted, especially since I was going to be wearing them under slacks and trousers. I called the store and explained my problem. I acknowledged that I had seen the sign regarding refunds and exchanges, but also told how the sales lady had made an error on the color, and then a second mistake on the length. I asked if I could just bring them back and exchange for the correct length. The gentleman who answered the phone said he had to check with his manager. When he came back on the line, I was told they would not exchange the hose, but I could purchase the correct hose for $10. I asked him to check and make sure they had what I wanted in stock before I drove out to their store. He checked and told me he had the correct size, length, and compression, but only in white. I told him I would take them and he held them at the counter for me. When I got to the store, I again explained what had happened, showing the incorrect hose and my receipt. The same sales lady looked at what I had and what was being held for me and apparently did not understand what had happened as she told me the ones that had been held at the counter were the wrong length. Again I told her I wanted the calf high hose, not the thigh high she had inadvertently given me the day before. Final upshot, I now have two pair of hose, one of which I will never wear, and a second one I paid $10.00 for. I really feel that the store should have just exchanged the hose for the correct size, as their employee made a mistake twice on the initial visit, and then tried to give me the wrong pair again on the second visit. The only reason I am giving them 2 stars is because they did sell me the correct item at a discounted price. Had they given me an even exchange, I would have rated them higher. When I need another pair, I will go someplace else to purchase them. read more

Unfortunately I didn't have a good experience with this business. You can not be helped over the phone. Your only option is driving all the way to the store. I had all the information of the item needed in hands but the guy refused to help. He couldn't tell me if they had it for sure or the price. Very disappointed. I will be looking for another medical supply store for sure. read more

I rented a cpap machine for a relative who has terminal cancer. I was told that a one month rental would be $100.00, and when I returned to rent the machine, I was now told the price was $131.00. When I asked the RT why is this price now more, he told me it was because of the attached humidifier, which is needed for the machine to work efficiently to control the moisture of the air flow. I paid for the machine and took it to our relative's home, and by the time I arrived he was already asleep. We attempted to have him use the machine the next night, but he was unable to due to the progression of the disease and he had to continue his use of regular oxygen. I called Mercy Plaza the next morning and told the RT what had happened and that I would pick up the machine that evening and bring it back to them the following day. He said he would let me know what type of refund I would receive. When I brought the machine back the following day, I was told that I would only receive half of the full amount back ($65.50). When I questioned the staff and the manager about it, they told me that because he was on hospice we were already receiving a deal. I told them this was ridiculous, since he was not able to use the machine and I called and told them about it the next day after his attempt to use it. This business was a very strange place with a "used car" feel to it when dealing with the staff. No one had authority to answer any questions, and each time you asked a question, the staff member would have to go to a back room and discuss the matter with the "manager" and then return with an answer. It was only after I suspected some shenanigans that I requested to speak to the manager directly, and when I did, he had no personality and no professionalism. You really got the sense this was all about making a buck and not about customer satisfaction. I told the staff member when I left, I can see charging someone a restocking or cleaning fee of $30 to $40 dollars, but to charge half price based on the above circumstances is absurd and a bad business practice.
