No words I can write can do justice to how I feel about Dr. Bowshier. She is empathetic and listens...I feel she genuinely cares about me at a person. She also doesn't let me pull my normal stuff...which I need. She doesn't let me get lazy in my healthcare and holds my feet to the fire when she needs to. She understands that I want to be around for my family for as long as I can she supports me in this. Parking here is easy...it's a large lot. The staff at the front is always polite and easy to work with. Dr.Bowshier has had several nurses over the years I've been seeing her; all have been good people to work with. The phlebotomists drawing blood etc. for lab work are all great and really know what they are doing...and I'm a hard stick. I miss Cindy..., but got to give a shout out to Haley! Not a fan of the conversion over to Trinity and their processes...but I'll deal with it. Change is hard sometimes. Lol I can't recommend Dr. Bowshier and MercyOne Waukee enough!

This year, one of those scans caught a small spot on my lung that hadn't been there before. After further testing, I was diagnosed with stage one lung cancer. Because it was found so early, a small portion of my lung was removed -- and I didn't need chemo or radiation. I am 100% convinced that Dr. Bowshier's proactive care saved my life. Her attentiveness, guidance, and genuine concern for her patients are truly exceptional. I will be forever grateful to her. Dr. Laura Bowshier is simply the best.

I had cancer and also have it again and Dr Munro was/is always there for me. He is kind, considerate,caring, professional and has much empathy. He listens when I need to talk, sends me wherever I need to go. I had a meltdown and called the office and they asked him if he could squeeze me in and he said of course. He doesn't even mind my crazy. I wouldn't ever see anyone else. I hope he is my Doctor for the rest of my life, because I don't want to start over with someone else. I'm not sure I'd be here if it weren't for Dr Munro. I also see Kim, the therapist and she is wonderful, she listens, talks things out with me. She's the best. I also want to say that Diana (Dr Munro's nurse and Amy the other nurse are so kind and thoughtful. Bailey Webb treats my son and husband and she has always been helpful. The girls at the front desk are always pleasant and professional. I absolutely love this office and I hope it never changes. Sometimes you get what you get by the attitude you present, if you go in all crabby and demanding, you're probably not gonna get the best care you want, they will try, but you won't think it was. So, go in with knowing that they are human and so have bad days, probably because of a difficult patient... so try and give them a break or a second chance.

We tried many times and to get documentation from Dr. Munro and the clinic…read moreto get paperwork in a timely manner which was not done when needed and we requested to speak with the clinic manager on numerous occasions by email, voicemails and other means which never happened and no call from them. Dr Munro kept asking for visits to have paperwork filled out that we needed and charged our insurance when the specific paperwork was not sent over until multiple emails and calls were made to only be placed on hold for over 5 minutes each time and no one would answer and then calling back to be placed on hold even when told no when asked to hold and that I didn't want to be placed on hold and Bree would place me on hold anyways. I sent an email and left a voicemail for Dr. Munros nurse to call me back as we just needed confirmation that the doctors were sent and the fax confirmation with information and documents sent directly to us. That wad finally done 2 days after my 3rd visit by Dr. Monroe as he called us back hours later as he was just now faxing over the information information that we needed and that was two days after our appointment with him to get the exact documentation. Nothing like milking our insurance company for unnecessary visits. And then the doctor wants to terminate our relationship because they couldn't follow through with getting the documentation sent over when we originally had our visits! We never received a phone call from the clinic manager or clinic Director as we requested this numerous times by emails and calls to get this issue resolved and to get feedback. The nurse should've sent the information over the day of the appointment which never happened. The doctor was sending it two days later when we finally got a phone call from him!! the only thing that Monroe wanted to do for long Covid say to drink enough water, eat well and get enough sleep. seriously?! no other treatment is available out there for this?? this clinic will be one that I tell everybody to stay away from! If you're seeking Long Covid treatment, this is not the doctor that you want to see! They don't follow through with the things as they should in a timely manner and the only treatment they recommend is what a normal physician would recommend. Ridiculous! And to say that I was abusive to staff to say "No" to being placed on hold is a lie!! I terminate my relationship with Dr. Munro as he is not someone I would recommend to anybody and exaggerated the truth to what really happened and is only covering for his nurse not doing her job to send what I needed over on Monday when I had my appointment as that wasn't done even by Wednesday when I sent emails and then started calling. Why would I want to continue to see somebody that doesn't take care of my needs as a customer for a service that I have paid for. These people were NOT Board Certified from before 2018- until who know if they are now after their submitted my complaint to the Iowa Medical Review Board. Details below: I took my daughter here to see Dr. Etan Young for coughing symptoms. On the first visit, Dr. Etan Young did not use his stethoscope to listen to her chest or back, instead he listened to me narrate her history over the last few years (of her intermittently getting a cough that would not go away for a couple of weeks). He told me he did not need to listen to her chest because from what I had told him he was sure it was asthma and to continue using the ibuterol inhaler and recommended I get in with the allergy center. He said the allergy center was a separate entity managed through them. I set an appointment at the allergy center at that time which was ,"United Allergy", the same building and down the hall from where we were seen by Dr. Young. As suggested by Dr. Young, we made an appointment at that particular allergy center. They conducted a prick test and determined Emilie was allergic to everything (all grasses, trees, weeds, mold, dust mites, feathers, cock roaches ). They said we should start her on allergy shots right away. The first 2 round of shots were done in their office and after ensuring we could confidently administer the shots on our own, they instructed us to administer the shots to her at home and return for the new vials containing higher doses each month. Once we were made aware of my daughter's allergies, we made sure to do everything possible to make her less susceptible to coming in contact with these allergens as much as possible. (We purchased special pillowcase and mattress covers, paid for a deep cleaning on our home without harsh chemicals, had our entire homes ducts cleaned, removed all stuffed animals from her bed, bought chemical free products, and kept our daughter inside on high pollen days (there were many times she was not outside playing with friends because of her alleged expansive allergies. We were very fortunate that an encounter of the mother of one of Emilies classmates, Dr Young, 5 years ago referred us to their affiliate allergy center next door, and they said my daughter was allergic to everything, after a prick test. Saw Dr today, it went good nice and informative, waited to schedule surgery and had another…read moreappointment, they said the scheduler would call, never did, I left a voice mail twice, nothing they promised they would call back as I have another procedure scheduled, and needed o know today what I was supposed to do, I feel like I don't matter and may go elsewhere for this because if I have issues post op, will anyone call back.
